Welcome to Toronto, the largest city in Canada and a hub of trade and culture.
“The City That Works” is full of a can-do spirit that is reflected in its buildings. From the famous CN Tower to the castle-like Casa Loma, there’s all sorts of eye candy for the architecture enthusiast. Your Toronto tour should include a trip to Edward Gardens in Hyde Park, or one of the many other green spaces located in the city. Take a bike ride along the trails, or enjoy a picnic while the local chipmunks look on. Don’t drop anything; they’ll grab it.
Your Toronto sightseeing can continue at the Harborfront Center. Go for a walk along the marina, or grab a pint at a brewhouse. And no trip to Toronto is complete without a visit to the Hockey Hall of Fame, so make sure you’ve got your team paraphernalia in order before you venture inside. Looking for shopping? You’ll find the Underground City and Kensington Market ready to welcome you and your credit card – or several credit cards, as the case may be. After a day of madcap purchasing, why not stock up on fresh, healthy food at the St. Lawrence Market? You’ll have worked up quite an appetite for delicious local produce.
Before you leave, head to Niagara Falls and take in the spectacle of nature’s power. You’ll never forget the sight and sound of all that water pouring over the falls, nor will you ever forget your trip to Toronto.

https://www.expedia.com/Ottawa.d178296.Destination-Travel-Guides
Welcome to Ottawa, Ontario, where you’ll find charming old-world buildings surrounded by picturesque natural beauty.
The first stop on an Ottawa tour should be the Rideau Canal. This waterway cuts the city in half, and it provides places for boating and paddleboarding during the summer. Visiting in winter? Not a problem—you can go ice skating along the Rideau when it ices over. On the south side of the river, you can see the Changing of the Guard Ceremony at Parliament Hill. A few blocks to the north is the National Gallery of Canada, a stunning glass-and-granite building full of art from Canadian, European, and other North American artists.
You’ll be hungry after all this walking around, so head to ByWard Market. If you see beavertails, don’t worry; they’re a pastry, not part of an actual beaver—and they’re delicious. ByWard Market also has some of the best fresh produce you’ll ever taste, so stock up on fruits and vegetables while you’re there.
After sampling the fare at ByWard Market, cross the river to visit the Canadian Museum of History in Quebec. This is where you can tour recreations of Old Canada: explore 1800s storefronts, wander into log cabins, and learn about the First Nations people who inhabited Canada for thousands of years prior to European settlement.
Round out your trip with a venture to Gatineau Park, where you can relax by the lake or take tea in the MacKenzie King estate.
What’s your favorite part of Ottawa?
Visit our Ottawa travel guide page for more information or to plan your next vacation!

Ms. Lisitsa, a pianist, performed in Calgary on June 5 & 6, 2015. Despite various communities expressing their grave concerns over Ms. Lisitsa hate speech, the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra is endorsing the hate and violence promoter Lisitsa by allowing her concert on both dates and never speaking publicly against her hateful material.
Ms. Lisitsa has been cancelled by both the Toronto Symphony Orchestra and the Toronto Church for her appalling public comments. Other cities in Canada (Oakville) and countries (Indonesia) cancelled Ms. Lisitsa performances too. Yet, she is propelled to the status of martyr for free speech by some mainstream media in Canada while she calls an ethnic and cultural group “dog feces” and “pigs” and promotes violence. She tweets that Ukrainians need “strong meds” next to images of Holocaust victims. Ms. Lisitsa has more than one idea on how to “cure” Ukrainians – she tweets: “Russia sent 1,000 men into Ukraine?.. why not send 100 times more and finish it in 3 days?” Since last summer she has published material that incited hatred and violence against Ukrainian people and spewed insults against other ethnicities, Holocaust victims, people with disabilities and mental illness, and black Africans, among others.
Ukrainians together with members of other communities held a peaceful protest each evening when Ms. Lisitsa performs to say no to promotion of racism, xenophobia and violence in this peaceful country.
After a very successful, peaceful protest on June 5, about 7 people from Lisitsa/Putin hate club came to attack us on June 6, during our second peaceful protest, while our children were playing Chopin! Obviously they were disturbed by our peaceful and effective protest the previous day. That is what hate promotion by Ms. Lisitsa does to our communities here in CANADA. We should stop hate and violence from coming here to Canada!

Hong Xu's career began at a very early age and he made his concerto debut in China at just 16 years old playing Rachmaninov's Second Piano Concerto.
He studied at Wuhan Conservatory, the Eastman School of Music in Rochester NY and The Julliard School (where he recently graduated from the much prized Artist Diploma course), under teachers including Liping Jiang, Douglas Humpherys, Jerome Lowenthal and Robert McDonald.
Competition successes include Third Prize in the Gina Bachauer International Young Artists Competition (at the age of just 17), Second Prize at the 2004 Hilton Head International Piano Competition and the Mozart Prize at the 2005 Cleveland International Piano Competition. Xu is a Laureate of Canada's 2006 Honens International Piano Competition.
Hong Xu has given recitals at Wigmore Hall and Carnegie Hall's Weill Recital Hall, gave a ten-city recital tour in Germany, recorded his first CD at the Banff Centre and appeared as soloist with the Orchestre Métropolitain du Grand Montréal, the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra and the Juilliard Orchestra, under such conductors as Yannick Nézet-Séguin, Roberto Minczuk and Vladimir Ashkenazy. In 2008 Xu represented the Julliard School at the Beijing Cultural Olympiad.
He has been re-invited to the Orchestre Métropolitain du Grand Montréal with Yannick Nézet-Séguin and made a highly successful debut with the Hallé. He returned to the Hallé at the beginning of 2012 for a series of concerts with their Principal Guest Conductor, Markus Stenz.
As a result of the travel chaos caused by the Icelandic volcano in 2010 Hong Xu undertook highly acclaimed last minute replacements in the prestigious recital series in both Vancouver and Middlebury VT to both of which he was immediately re-invited.
Hong Xu toured China with the London Philharmonic Orchestra at the beginning of 2012 and made his Royal Festival Hall debut with them later in the year. He also appeared with the Hong Kong Philharmonic.
Future engagements include recitals in Madrid and Calgary.
Hong Xu is a member of the piano faculty at Wuhan Conservatory of Music in China.
