Santa Elena Cloud Forest Reserve - Costa Rica
Santa Elena Reserve boasts a diversity of birds and animals such as the Quetzal, the Three-wattled Bellbird and the Coati. The ecology is completely different from the Monteverde Reserve side. Recommendation: Always use a certified guide, it's a richer experience of the tropical cloud forest. Visit www.MonteverdeForest.com for more information about this ecological reserve.

Wild Tiger of Kanha Forest Reserve (India) - Huge Male Tiger 300 Kg
This Video was shot in the 1st week of Dec 2009 at Kanha Tiger Reserve in India when we came across a huge male tiger weighing more than 300 kilos, roaming freely in his natural habitat. He was coming down straight towards us and we were in an open jeep. He was not a least bit concerned about us. Tigers certainly have big egos. But it was the most amazing moment and all of us were completely thrilled to see such beautiful animal. Undoubtedly, Tiger is the super predator!! King of the Jungle!!

trekking at Ayer Hitam Forest Reserve, Puchong
Ayer Hitam Forest Reserve trail is good for beginners. The trail entrance is at Jalan Wawasan 5/1, (Google Map location : 3 01 29.86'N, 101 37 46.78'E). The trail is clear and it takes about an hour to finish the general trail. The trail to the mini waterfall through the 2nd Stop (1.40) has been fenced up. It will take about 30 - 45 mins to reach the mini fall from this point. I was the only human when trekking at this forest in one afternoon. The mini fall is quite scenic and the stream water is crystal clear but unfortunately swimming is prohibited. There is another bigger fall in the forest but was not explored during this trekking.

Fragment of "Where has the forest gone? It was still here yesterday!" 2007
Green Video - 2007. This is an extract from Valeriy Lovchinovskiy's documentary "Where has the forest gone? It was still here yesterday!" www.youtube.com This extract is dedicated to a stage of creation of the forest reserve Yaryomovka (Ukraine, Kharkiv region, Izium district) In this extract of the film, using Yaryomovka forest reserve as an example, the author will show you how Kharkiv Regional Forestry and Hunting Administration destroys valuable nature territories. The Administration disinforms the regional government, officially claiming that the abovementioned areas do not possess any biotic value. At the same time the forestry enterprises near those areas destroy the forest, which is the basis of preserving the diversity of animals and plants. Remarkably, as soon as the foresters find out about the plans for the creation of a new forest reserve, they immediately start conducting high-volume economic activity in the area planned for nature reservation, making it lose all attractiveness which it had in the first place. Neither the burrows of the badgers, belonging to the Red Book, nor the nests of big prey birds stop the forest thieves. Almost nothing does. It seems that only a loud scandal may change the situation, as has been the case with Yaryomovka forest reserve in the Kharkiv region. In 2008 the Izium forestry enterprise sued Valeriy Lovchinovskiy, claiming that his documentary "Where has the forest gone? It was still here yesterday!" www.youtube.com contained ...

Eco Talk: Forestry
www.ntvuganda.co.ug Forest resources in Uganda comprise of both natural forests and plantations which cover approximately 4.9 million hectares which is 20 percent of the total land area. But the level of degradation of the forest cover saw a need for gazettement of forests and forest reserves. Kyewaaga Central forest reserve in Entebbe which was gazetted in 1932 is now under threat due to sand mining among other activities.

Bear Kingdom - Meeting with nature Documentary
The number of bears in the Central Forest Reserves in Russia is higher than anywhere else between the Atlantic and the Urals. There's approximately one bear per 1000 hectares of land. For centuries, impassable marshes and dense thickets have protected these forests and their inhabitants from human intervention. This is what has preserved the conifer forest, which is 360 kilometres west of Moscow in the Tver Region. In 1931, the Central Forest Reserve was founded here. There is a small village hidden in a remote part of the reserve, far from major roads. Around twenty years ago, a family of biologists settled here. Currently, the spot is referred to as Chistiy Les ( the Clean Forest Bio-station). This is the only centre in Europe which takes care of orphaned bear cubs. Every morning, Sergey Pazhetnov and his son Vasily go out to feed the cubs. The only way bears recognise humans is by their smell. That's why the pair always wear the same clothes when feeding the animals and never use perfume before feeding them. The entire process of feeding the cubs with porridge takes no more than 30 seconds. Sergey and his son scatter the food and quickly retreat. This is how they teach the cubs to become accustomed to finding their own food—because once they are seven months old, they will be left to their own devices. Valentin Pazhetnov is an ecologist and the founder of the bio-station. He and his family have lived in the woods for almost 20 years. The biologists raise orphaned bear ...

Deforestation in Balik Pulau,Penang
This video is to highlight the deforestation activites which are going on in Anjung Indah,Balik Pulau,Penang. As a true Penangite from heart,i was truly disgusted seeing this utter destruction of a nature reserve going on in my paradise island.I felt that if I remained mum, this injustice will continue on,and as like many other forest reserves in the country,it too will succumb to the wrath of chainsaws.I urge the government of Penang, which is truly committed toward making Penang a cleaner, greener state to look into this issue seriously and take the necessary steps to curtail such activities.Members of the general public, please like this video to show ur support in my campaign to save whatever remains of this green lung.Let us keep Penang green for the future!SAVE BUKIT RELAU FOREST RESERVE!!Thank you for watching. Travel Zone Holidays - Wild Life
Lying within the Indomalaya ecozone, Sri Lanka is one of the 25 biodiversity hotspots in the world. Although the country is relatively small in size, it has the highest biodiversity per 10000 square km in Asia. Remarkably high proportion of the species among its flora and fauna, 27% of the 3210 flowering plants and 22% of the mammals (see List), are endemic. Sri Lanka has declared 24 wildlife reserves, which are home to a wide range of native species such as Asian elephants, leopards, sloth bears, the unique small loris, a variety of deer, the purple-faced langur, the endangered wild boar, porcupines and anteaters. Varieties of flowering acacias are well adapted to the arid conditions and flourish on the Jaffna Peninsula. Among the trees of the dry-land forests, are some valuable species such as satinwood, ebony, ironwood, mahogany and teak. In the wet zone, the dominant vegetation of the lowlands is a tropical evergreen forest, with tall trees, broad foliage, and a dense undergrowth of vines and creepers. Subtropical evergreen forests resembling those of temperate climates flourish in the higher altitudes. The Yala National Park in the southeast protects herds of elephant, deer, and peacocks, and the Wilpattu National Park, the largest national park in Sri Lanka, in the northwest preserves the habitats of many water birds, such as storks, pelicans, ibis, and spoonbills. The island has four biosphere reserves, Bundala, Hurulu Forest Reserve, the Kanneliya-Dediyagala ...
