ALCP welcomed at Ratana celebrations An official Aotearoa Legalise Cannabis Party delegation attended the Ratana celebrations for the first time in January 2013. Cannabis reform was described as "sustainable development" by Ratana spokesman Ruia Aperahama. ALCP Otaki Candidate Fred MacDonald, ALCP President Paul McMullan, ALCP Leader Michael Appleby and NORML President Julian Crawford at Ratana church. ALCP Leader Michael Appleby meets John Key to discuss the Law Commission's review of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1975. NZ First leader Winston Peters reaffirmed his support for a referendum on cannabis laws to ALCP leader Michael Appleby.
