Owl City- The Saltwater Room (With Lyrics)
***LYRICS*** I opened my eyes last night and saw you in the low light Walking down by the bay, on the shore, staring up at the planes that arent there anymore I was feeling the night grow old and you were looking so cold Like an introvert, I drew my over shirt Around my arms and began to shiver violently before You happened to look and see the tunnels all around me Running into the dark underground All the subways around create a great sound To my motion fatigue: farewell With your ear to a seashell You can hear the waves in underwater caves As if you actually were inside a saltwater room Time together is just never quite enough When you and I are alone, Ive never felt so at home What will it take to make or break this hint of love? We need time, only time When were apart whatever are you thinking of? If this is what I call home, why does it feel so alone? So tell me darling, do you wish wed fall in love? All the time, all the time Can you believe that the crew has gone and wouldnt let me sign on? All my islands have sunk in the deep, so I can hardly relax or even oversleep I feel as if I were home some nights when we count all the ship lights I guess Ill never know why sparrows love the snow Well turn off all of the lights and set this ballroom aglow

WARM BODIES -- First 4 Minutes
FACEBOOK: facebook.com TWITTER: twitter.com TUMBLR: warmbodiesmovie.tumblr.com PINTEREST pinterest.com INSTAGRAM: instagram.com A funny new twist on a classic love story, WARM BODIES is a poignant tale about the power of human connection. After a zombie epidemic, R (a highly unusual zombie) encounters Julie (a human survivor), and rescues her from a zombie attack. Julie sees that R is different from the other zombies, and as the two form a special relationship in their struggle for survival, R becomes increasingly more human -- setting off an exciting, romantic, and often comical chain of events that begins to transform the other zombies and maybe even the whole lifeless world.

You Had Me At Hello - A Day To Remember
...you had me at hello by a day to remember :) lyrics: I'm missing you so much, I'll say/see you die tonight Just so I can get to you before the sun will rise I know the signs are on and I feel this too None of that ever seems to matter when I'm holding you And I'm wasting away, away from you (x2) What have I gotten into this time around I know that I had sworn I'd never trust anyone again but I didn't have to You had me at hello. I've never seen a smile that can light the room like yours (like yours) It's simply radiant, I feel more with everyday that goes by I watch the clock to make my timing just right Would it be okay, Would it be okay if I took your breath away? And I'm wasting away, away from you (x2) What have I gotten into this time around I know that I had sworn I'd never trust anyone again but I didn't have to You had me at hello. You gave me butterflies (at the mailbox) and you had me at hello. (x3) You gave me butterflies You had me at hello. You gave me butterflies (you are so cute) at the mailbox (x3) You gave me butterflies (you are so cute) You had me at hello. What have I gotten into this time around I know that I had sworn I'd never trust anyone again but I didn't have to You had me at hello (x3)

Abandoned hayloft now small cube home on Costa Brava estate
David Pou van den Bossche's grandparents and father were born and raised in their 16th century masia (Catalan Villa) on the Costa Brava, but when David came of age, the family had grown too large for the estate. To make room for David's generation, they turned to outbuildings like an abandoned hayloft and horse stable. All of these structures were located on the northern side of the property, which lacked good solar orientation and were highly exposed to the strong winds David's sister inherited the old home of the family horse (Nino), his brother received an upstairs hallway/porch area and David was given the hayloft. Since David and his partner Estel Ortega are architects they volunteered to make these spaces liveable. Nearly windowless and covered in cement, back in 2005, the hayloft was an inhospitable storage shed. The architect couple (partners in life and in work with their firm Cubus Taller d'Arquitectura) wanted to preserve as much as possible so they stripped the structure down to its original stone and left this outer "box" nearly intact (except for one landscape window). kid icarus // the screen printing duo
working with bianca and michael of kid icarus was a blast. their shop is super cute, their location is in one of toronto's hippest neighborhoods, and their love for craft and handmade is infectious.
while what they produce is impeccable, kid icarus is really just a two person shop. michael handles all of the production and bianca manages all of the pre and post production, among all of the other facets that go along with running a storefront.
throughout the day they continue like busy bee's working apart but every so often they meet. what starts off as a split screen of the two of them working independently breaks when they meet in the middle to work together.
the color of the piece was pushed as far as i could go in apple color to really bring out the saturated colors apparent in screen printed goods. one of the main differences between screen printing and digital printing is color; with screen printing, anything is possible - including crazy neon colors (colors that we have incorporated in to printed collateral, particularly the orange that is seen on many of the goods that kid icarus has printed for us), whereas with digital, you can only go so far.
now, being that kid icarus is located in a small shop, we did run in to some challenges with lighting. luckily though, kid icarus is closed on monday's so we were able to film while the storefront was closed. setting up lights while the store was open would have been impossible. we ended up lighting from the outside of the shop when we lost the sun in the back of the building, and then lighting the interviews in the same direction of the sun when we lost the sun behind clouds.
what i really love about this piece is that it was filmed in 1 day, about 6 hours to be exact, with 1 cinematographer, 1 assistant cinematographer / pa, and an AD. the ability to go in for a day, create a film about kid icarus and their process with relatively low impact is quite amazing to me. the power of these cameras and lenses continually blows me away.
- justin
-----------------------------------------------------------------
michael, of kid icarus, was kind enough to chime in on the process of being filmed and what it was like from their perspective:
I'm always skeptical when someone wants to bring a class on a field trip, a group of tourists, or a film crew into our space. It's not that I get camera shy or nervous around groups of people. It's the fact that our space is about 300 square feet and once there are about 6 people in the store, you start to feel a little claustrophobic. Filming on a day that we were closed was important. Gear scattered all over the place, store product stashed into any corner possible, the store started to look like a packrat's den with just a thin clear path on the floor to get from one side of the room to the other.
The folks at stillmotion were great. They put up with my random art direction and shot ideas, and also our many side tangents on whatever we decided to talk about that moment.
The night before the shoot we were finishing up a job for the My City Lives Anniversary party. We were on a roll and decided to plow through the printing until it was done. It felt great to head home late that night with another project wrapped up. Bad idea. This left us unable to articulate anything on the day of the shoot. No amount of coffee helped, we were zombies. I'm surprised at the end result of the clip, it comes off really polished despite or lack of sleep.
Some of the shots where we are in print production are my favourites, capturing the viscosity of the inks and the texture on the mesh, those look great in video. Alot of it was "1 shot only". From laying down a fresh bead of ink on a screen, to chopping down paper on the hydraulic cutter, it only happens once. When it comes to the physical printing portion, I generally rely on my core muscles to do most of the work . But there were quite a few overhead shots where I needed to shift my usual stance to accommodate cameras hovering over me. Awkward, yes, but I feel those made up the most interesting shots. It's pretty much what you'd see if you were printing.
Overall it was an interesting experience, especially not really knowing what angle the crew wanted to take on everything. It was loads of fun explaining the process, doing what we do everyday, and just having people around to document it.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
technical notes: we used the Mark IV's with a 4 lens kit (24, 35, 50 and 135) and a couple of lights when needed. there is 1 slider shot in the entire piece, everything else is with a monopod or tripod for the interviews.
music is licensed through with etiquette. the artist is purse candy and the song is i need want it.

The Yummy Balmy Dance Music Jam
Recorded at 848 Community Space, June 24, 2000 to celebrate the opening of Tasmanian photographer Tony Ryan's show.
this is when I performed with my CHEROTIC ALL-STAR BAND at the opening of the first U. S. exhibition of the work of the tasmania's erotic photographer Tony Ryan. It broke out in the second half of the performance into a very juicy erotic dance which pulled in several audience members!
When I reviewed Tony Ryan's first book of photography, “Beauty/Reality” for
the 7th issue of my zine, The Cherotic (r)Evolutionary, we had not met in
person. I met Tony on the Internet. I was searching for erotic art that
wasn't legs-spread, beer- can- in- the- ass- dildo- in- cunt- sucking- cock
parody on sex (such parodies have their place, but ...). And that is where
the world also met Tony. On the Internet is where Tony broke out of the
isolation that is felt by most artists who do not do fashionable art, who do
not fit in, or who run afoul of the local art power structure, and/or live
in the boonies ... In Tony's case, Tasmania! As our correspondence
continued, I encouraged Tony to live out one of his dreams, to come to the
Bay Area and show his photography in the U.S.. He was able to actually come
twice, appearing on my live internet show, The Shaman's Den, both times. In
2000, Tony showed his photography at 848 Divisadero, a radical art space in
San Francisco, where I had done a series of performances in the late 90s.
We did a great music jam to launch the exhibit. He also showed his work at
Passion Flower in Oakland, an adult shop where I also performed over the
years, doing all-night and other extended time ritual audience-participation
performances. Tony was eager to return in 2001, so I set two of my students
to work finding spaces that would host Tony's photography in San Francisco
and Oakland/Berkeley. This time, Tony was able to show in four different
spaces, including a repeat visit to Passion Flower, and an exhibit at
Artists Television Access (ATA) in San Francisco, an underground film/video
house where I have also shown my films. I was happy that Tony could show
his photos here, to expose a live audience to his work. He was also able to
do a series of photo shoots in the Bay Area while he was here.
Tony shows that by putting your art directly out into the world, you can
by-pass all road blocks that the power structures put in your way. The work
is humanistic (thus, truly feminist), completely erotic because it is not
limited by sex. Tony, as do I, admits to being especially attracted to
working with women, to what he calls the special tension. In fact, he
subtitled his first book, "Male Eye-Female Mind". By doing so, he called
attention to the major and active role of the female models in the creative
process.
I think Tony's art and my own have evolved from similar beginnings. Some of
my earliest performances were what I call “street performances”. I had been
painting oils for years, painting with a brush strapped to my forehead,
painting nudes from magazine photos. One day, a rich woman asked me to paint
a nude of her. My wife set me and my paints up in the fancy living room as
the woman undressed. On that day I realized how art can give people
permission to do what normally is forbidden. This began my street series. I
sat on the center plaza, "selling newspapers". But selling papers was only a
context. The context for me was an excuse for watching people, talking to
people who had the slowness and the insightful curiosity to stop and
talk...a way for me to ask them to model for me. I painted a lot of the
special people from the street performances. I noticed the changes in the
people when they took off their clothes; how they relaxed, how they started
talking on a deeper level about important personal things.
In this same way, the nude body in each of Tony's photos is just the
starting point to reveal the "subject's" personality/spirit, to explore
relationships, and to dive into the magical intimate altered reality of the
shooting session, the special intimate reality created when artist and model
come together in art.

SILENCE OF DEATH directed by Mani Nasry (16MM FILM) 1ST YEAR RYERSON UNIVERSITY STUDENT FILM
IMDB PAGE
www.imdb.me/maninasry
This Scene expresses- FEAR- noun: an emotion experienced in anticipation of some specific pain or danger (usually accompanied by a desire to flee or fight). noun: a feeling of anxiety and agitation caused by the presence or nearness of danger, evil, pain, etc.; timidity; dread; terror; fright; apprehension. Terrify not your soul with vain imaginary fears. By realizing that you are the one feeding the fire, you can start to take control of your fears. Panic is a vicious cycle that can be broken. When you start to have irrational fears you need to take action quick. Eleanor Roosevelt once said: "You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You must do the thing, which you think you cannot do." We must stop running away from things that frighten us, face our fears head on, and do the thing we fear the most. Most of the time we'll find out that the "thing" was not that scary after all. Our imaginations had behaved like a super fertilizer and grown a grotesque monstrosity in our minds. Remember, our imaginations are incredibly powerful. They can work against us, creating horrible images that leave us paralyzed with fear and they can also work for us, building a world where everything we do is an adventure, a miracle. And the most amazing thing is that we hold the power to control our minds - we allow fear to dominate our lives or we choose to dominate fear. Those are our only two choices.

Shutter Island Dream Sequence
the beautiful dream sequence in Martin Scorsese's latest film "Shutter Island" (my apologies for it being slightly cropped/zoomed in. it's the only way to get around the HIGHLY ADVANCED YOUTUBE TECHNOLOGY, i guess.) Edit: A lot of comments asking what the songs in this scene are. Though i doubt this will lessen those questions much, i'll put the answers here for convenience: The song on the record: Johnny Ray's "Cry" The non-diagetic, instrumental background music is Max Richter's "On the Nature of Daylight"
