'If Israel bombs Iran, Arab states will support Tehran'
Tension around Iran has spiralled. Tehran is carefully avoiding being provoked so as not to vie the US and Israel an excuse for military action. Though activists believe the extra sanctions and economic blockade of Tehran is already an 'act of war'. RT has talked to Brian Becker, the national coordinator of the ANSWER anti-war coalition on the reasons behind the instability in the region. RT on Twitter twitter.com RT on Facebook www.facebook.com

1973 Arab-Israeli October War part 2/4
The Yom Kippur War, Ramadan War or October War, also known as the 1973 Arab-Israeli War and the Fourth Arab-Israeli War, was fought from October 6 to October 26, 1973 by a coalition of Arab states led by Egypt and Syria against Israel. The war began with a surprise joint attack by Egypt and Syria on Yom Kippur, the Jewish day of atonement. Egypt and Syria crossed the cease-fire lines in the Sinai and Golan Heights, respectively, which had been captured by Israel in 1967 during the Six-Day War. The Egyptians and Syrians advanced during the first 2448 hours, after which momentum began to swing in Israel's favor. By the second week of the war, the Syrians had been pushed out of the Golan Heights. In the Sinai to the south, the Israelis struck at the seam between two invading Egyptian armies, crossed the Suez Canal (where the old ceasefire line had been), and cut off the Egyptian Third Army just as a United Nations cease-fire came into effect. The war had far-reaching implications for many nations. The Arab World, which had been humiliated by the lopsided defeat of the Egyptian-Syrian-Jordanian alliance during the Six-Day War, felt psychologically vindicated by its string of victories early in the conflict. This vindication paved the way for the peace process that followed, as well as liberalizations such as Egypt's infitah policy. The Camp David Accords, which came soon after, led to normalized relations between Egypt and Israel—the first time any Arab country had recognized ...

Obama uses al-Qaeda in Syria scenario: Webster Tarpley
The United States, along with its Western and Arab allies, has done its best to overthrow the legitimate government of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, even by making use of armed gangs and terrorists from neighboring Arab countries. Analysts believe that while Obama is crying for the rights of the armed gangs in Syria, he deliberately turns a blind eye to the real pro-democracy movements of the oppressed Persian Gulf nations such as, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait and United Arab Emirates. Press TV has interviewed prominent author and historian Webster Griffin Tarpley from Washington to further discuss the issue. Al-Hijr Archaeological Site (Madâin Sâlih) UNESCO World Heritage Site* A row of tombs from the al-Khuraymat group, Mada'in Saleh. State Party Saudi Arabia Type Cultural Criteria ii, iii Reference 1293 Region** Arab States Inscription history Inscription 2008 (32nd Session) * Name as inscribed on World Heritage List. ** Region as classified by UNESCO. Mada'in Saleh (Arabic: مدائن صالح, madāʼin Ṣāliḥ), also called Al-Hijr or Hegra (so in Greek and Latin, eg by Pliny [1]), is a pre-Islamic archaeological site located in the Al-Ula sector, within the Al Madinah Region of Saudi Arabia.[2] A majority of the vestiges date from the Nabatean kingdom (1st century CE).[3] The site constitutes the kingdom's southernmost and largest settlement after Petra, its capital.[4][5] Traces of Lihyanite and Roman occupation before and after the Nabatean rule, respectively, can also be found in situ,[5] while accounts from the Qur'an tell of an earlier settlement of the area by the tribe of Thamud in the 3rd millennium BC.[6] According to the Islamic text, Allah punished the Thamudis for their persistent practice of idol worship and for conspiring to kill the prophet whom He sent, the non-believers being struck by an earthquake and lightning blasts.[7] Thus, the site has earned a superstitious reputation down to contemporary times as a cursed place[2]— an image which the national government is attempting to overcome as it seeks to develop Mada'in Saleh, officially protected as an archaeological ...

Dubai - The Dubai Metro [HD]
♥ ilovedubai.co ♥ The Dubai Metro (in Arabic مترو دبي) is a driverless, fully automated metro network in the United Arab Emirates city of Dubai. Dubai inaugurated its metro network in September 2009, becoming the first urban metro network in the Gulf's Arab states. It is hoped that the system will ease the daily commute for thousands of the Dubai emirate's workers. The Dubai metro is fully integrated within the network operated by the Roads & Transport Authority (RTA). In full operation, Dubai metro is projected to carry approximately 1.2 million passengers on an average day, and 355 million passengers a year.

Egypt We Are Watching You 0 - Intro
www.taghyeer.net إذا لم تشارك اليوم فلا تشكوغداً BBC Documentary Why democracy - Egypt We Are Watching You Film Context In 2005, Mubarak announced that Egypt would hold multi-party presidential elections in Egypt. The elections were given strong support by the US government. The vote was marked by violence and fraud; it was boycotted by large parts of the opposition because they believed it was run unfairly. The voter turnout was remarkably low according to the Carnegie Endowment it was a mere 23 percent. Regardless, the US Government described it as a victory. Mubarak won a fifth term in office and very little was done to address the unfair aspects of the elections. In response to indifference about government and democracy three Egyptian women formed Shayfeen to educate the people about democracy. Political History Egypt was under monarchic rule until 1952 when Gamal Abdel Nasser came to power. Nasser was president from 1954 until he died of a heart attack in 1970. Nasser was a proponent of Pan-Arab nationalism, socialism and the non-alliance movement. He is famous for leading Egypt into the Six Day War with Israel in 1967, which Egypt lost. In 1970 Anwar Sadat came to power. Sadat is most famous for signing the first peace agreement between Israel and an Arab country. The peace agreement was signed in 1979 and is believed to have been the reason for his assassination in 1981. Since then Mubarak has been in power. Mubarak has been liberalising Egypts economy with the ...
