Native American Music (Shoshone)
I made this video of the Shoshone tribe whom were located in the territory in California, Idaho, Nevada, Utah, and Wyoming, although most of them seemed to be settled in the Snake river area in Idaho, Shoshone means The Valley People The name means inland, or in the valley. In 1905, nearly one hundred years after their first contact with the white man, the Lemhi Shoshone began their "Trail of Tears", being forcibly removed from their ancestral homelands to the Fort Hall Indian Reservation to their newly "appointed" home. The Shoshone were few in numbers, their total population being somewhere in the area of 8000. most of my other videos have pictures but also film through the videos.

A Mormon and Shoshone Experience
This documentary short revisits the dark history of early Mormon settlement in Utah. Mae Parry, an 86-year-old elder and tribal historian for the Northwestern Band of Shoshone, recounts her tribe's experiences and her family's hardship. The result is an honest and heartbreaking look at the interactions between Mormons and Native Americans that traumatically echo its effects even today. www.inlamansterms.com

The Spirituality of the Timbisha Shoshone People
(Location: Lida, Nevada) Pauline Esteves, Timbisha Shoshone elder, speaks about the spiritual connection her people have with their homelands spanning through parts of California and Nevada. The Timbisha Shoshone Tribe is filing a lawsuit seeking to overturn an Act of Congress that threatens to take a fund of money belonging to the Timbisha Shoshone and the Western Shoshone Nation as a whole. A successful lawsuit could mean that Congress could not in the future take Indian property and funds unless it complied with the Constitution and paid fair compensation. Indian Nations could have much greater ability to manage their affairs if they could stop the United States government's illegal taking of their property.

Shoshone Falls - Twin Falls, Idaho
Video from my visit on May 24, 2009. Shoshone Falls is among the most spectacular of natural beauties along the Snake River. At 212 feet, the falls are higher than Niagara Falls. They are best viewed during the spring and early summer, when water flows are high - depending on winter snow melt. Irrigation diversion of Snake River flows can significantly diminish water over the falls in the summer and fall, particularly during dry years. However, even without high water flows, the views at Shoshone Falls remain spectacular year-round. The City of Twin Falls owns and operates the Shoshone Falls/Dierkes Lake Complex. It offers a unique blend of recreational facilities, including playgrounds and hiking trails, landscaped picnic areas, a boat ramp and swimming area, and a scenic overlook. The complex provides restroom facilities and visitor information, and for a nominal per-car entry fee, visitors can enjoy picnicking and relaxing in the shaded, grassy areas, which provide perfect vantage points for viewing Shoshone Falls. Season: All Year Hours: 7:00am to 9:00pm Fees: $3 per car, $20 per bus Annual permits are available for $25 at Twin Falls City Hall or the City Parks & Recreation Office www.VisitIdaho.org ALSO FEATURING: The Snake River, Calvary Chapel (The River Christian Fellowship) Senior Pastor - Mike Kestler: www.TheRiverChristianFellowship.com AND....CSN International Radio (Calvary Satellite Network) The River Christian Fellowship 4002 N 3300 E Twin Falls, ID 83301 ...

Shoshone love song - New Moon Tribute (Lovely American Indian music)
I do not own the clips they belong to Summit Entertainment. I do not own the music, it belongs to Yawar Mayu. This is a New Moon Tribute with a bit of North American feeling to it. The music is "Quarwa Yacu" off a North American Indian CD called Meditation by Yawar Mayu with Riccahry. The CD is called Tatanka. The verse is called the Shoshone Love Song ( is not related to the words but is a traditional Shoshone Indian verse) I kid you not, especially since the opening line really is "Fair is the white star of twilight" :) Shoshone Love Song Fair is the white star of twilight, and the sky clearer at the day's end; But she is fairer, and she is dearer. She, my heart's friend! Far stars and fair in the skies bending, Low stars of hearth fires and wood smoke ascending, The meadow-lark's nested, The night hawk is winging; Home through the star-shine the hunter comes singing. Fair is the white star of twilight, And the moon roving To the sky's end; But she is fairer, better worth loving, She, my heart's friend.
