Being a large city, Patras has good Shopping, restaurants and night life.

Located on the northern coast of the Peloponnese, Patras offers a mix of archaeological sites, vibrant nightlife, and beautiful views of the Gulf of Patras. Here are the top attractions and activities to enjoy in Patras.
Start your visit at the Roman Odeon, a well-preserved ancient theater built in the 1st century AD. Still used for performances today, the Odeon is part of Patras’ historic past and offers a glimpse into the city’s Roman heritage. Nearby, visit the Archaeological Museum of Patras, where you can see artifacts from the Mycenaean to Roman periods, including impressive mosaics and pottery.
Head to the impressive Church of St. Andrew, one of the largest churches in Greece and a major pilgrimage site. If you're visiting in February or March, don’t miss the famous Patras Carnival, the largest in Greece. The city bursts into life with parades, colorful costumes, music, and dancing, offering a unique cultural experience.

Patras was established as a Roman City specifically for access to Italy, and has a long history from this time. It is fairly unique in the Peloponnese as it is a town with no Acropolis as a result.
The Patras Carnival, held in January and February, is the largest in Greece and one of the largest in Europe, and whilst having occurred for 180 years in Patras, Greek Carnival has it routes in a spring Pagan festival celebrating Bacchus, the Roman God of wine.
Perhaps most famously in AD 60 Saint Andrew the Apostle was crucified by the Romans in Patras, and on this site there now stands the largest Church in Greece, St Andrews, with a capacity of some 5000 people.
Patras has as a result some fantastic Roman buildings, including an Odeon and Roman Stadium, as well as a Byzantine castle built on the site of an old Roman Temple and Church.
