Website: darkinc1.com Twitter: twitter.com Facebook: www.facebook.com Tumblr: darkinc1.tumblr.com Pablo Diego José Francisco de Paula Juan Nepomuceno María de los Remedios Cipriano de la Santísima Trinidad Ruiz y Picasso, known as Pablo Picasso (Spanish pronunciation: [ˈpaβlo piˈkaso], 25 October 1881 -- 8 April 1973), was a Spanish painter, sculptor, printmaker, ceramicist, and stage designer who spent most of his adult life in France. One of the greatest and most influential artists of the 20th century, he is widely known for co-founding the Cubist movement, the invention of constructed sculpture, the co-invention of collage, and for the wide variety of styles that he helped develop and explore. Among his most famous works are the proto-Cubist Les Demoiselles d'Avignon (1907), and Guernica (1937), a portrayal of the German bombing of Guernica during the Spanish Civil War. Picasso, Henri Matisse and Marcel Duchamp are commonly regarded as the three artists who most defined the revolutionary developments in the plastic arts in the opening decades of the 20th century, responsible for significant developments in painting, sculpture, printmaking and ceramics. Picasso demonstrated extraordinary artistic talent in his early years, painting in a realistic manner through his childhood and adolescence. During the first decade of the 20th century his style changed as he experimented with different theories, techniques, and ideas. His revolutionary artistic accomplishments brought ...

I keep reading about people arguing if Picasso was a great artist or not...If a painter paints a flower upside down and all others tells him that this is amazing, than, that painter will always paint that flower upside down. Picasso did the opposite. He was always in search for something new, he started with cubism, than abstractionism, surrealism, and his Blue and Rose Periods had a huge influence in modern art. If you all judge a painter if it's good or not by how well and realistic he draws or paints, than you should check his younger creations...he paint in that manner to. Since the invention of photography, most of the artist found themselves without a job, who wants a painting portrait that might took even a year or two to develop when you could have one by photographing yourself in just few minutes, so the artist had to reinvent themselves by searching something new. Brancusi or Giacometti did the same thing in sculpture, Gaudi or Gropius encourage something new in architecture, and that's why they deserve to be where they are now in the history of art. I'm not saying that Picasso was a great artist, most certainly not in my top ten list, but the media made him what it is, because they saw in him a future potential of making money...allot of them, that's why we see now how works by Picasso break world records at Christie's or Sotheby's **************************************** Source: "Picasso and Matisse" documentery Music: James Horner - "Of One Heart Of One Mind ...

The life and works of Pablo Picasso
Picasso was baptized Pablo Diego José Francisco de Paula Juan Nepomuceno María de los Remedios Cipriano de la Santísima Trinidad Ruizy Picasso but known as Pablo Ruiz Picasso (25 October 1881 -- 8 April 1973) was a Spanish expatriatepainter, sculptor, printmaker, ceramicist, and stage designer, one of the greatest and most influential artists of the 20th century. He is widely known for co-founding the Cubist movement and for the wide variety of styles that he helped develop and explore. Among his most famous works are the proto-Cubist Les Demoiselles d'Avignon (1907) and Guernica (1937), a portrayal of the German bombing of Guernica during the Spanish Civil War. The enormous body of Picasso's work remains, and the legend lives on a tribute to the vitality of the "disquieting" Spaniard with the "sombre...piercing" eyes who superstitiously believed that work would keep him alive. For nearly 80 of his 91 years Picasso devoted himself to an artistic production that contributed significantly to and paralleled the whole development of modern art in the 20th century. Picasso's art from the time of the Demoiselles was radical in nature, virtually no 20th-century artist could escape his influence. Moreover, while other masters such as Matisse or Braque tended to stay within the bounds of a style they had developed in their youth, Picasso continued to be an innovator into the last decade of his life. This led to misunderstanding and criticism both in his lifetime and since, and it ...

This Scene expresses- FEAR- noun: an emotion experienced in anticipation of some specific pain or danger (usually accompanied by a desire to flee or fight). noun: a feeling of anxiety and agitation caused by the presence or nearness of danger, evil, pain, etc.; timidity; dread; terror; fright; apprehension. Terrify not your soul with vain imaginary fears. By realizing that you are the one feeding the fire, you can start to take control of your fears. Panic is a vicious cycle that can be broken. When you start to have irrational fears you need to take action quick. Eleanor Roosevelt once said: "You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You must do the thing, which you think you cannot do." We must stop running away from things that frighten us, face our fears head on, and do the thing we fear the most. Most of the time we'll find out that the "thing" was not that scary after all. Our imaginations had behaved like a super fertilizer and grown a grotesque monstrosity in our minds. Remember, our imaginations are incredibly powerful. They can work against us, creating horrible images that leave us paralyzed with fear and they can also work for us, building a world where everything we do is an adventure, a miracle. And the most amazing thing is that we hold the power to control our minds - we allow fear to dominate our lives or we choose to dominate fear. Those are our only two choices.

“Liberty and Potatoes. Liberté et Pommes de Terre. Libertà e Patate”
The video is loop projected while seven female mannequin busts are hung from the ceiling, wearing shirts with pictures representing the news. “Seven” days of the week. “Seven” capital sins. The busts symbolize the media, the anchors giving the news on TV as if it were an entertainment show, rather than a horrible drama of truth. My nude body, as a means of communication, protests in opposition to the vulgar exploitation and merchandise of the female body, and to show that the news should be given as it is, harsh, cruel as it often happens. “Liberty and Potatoes”, was French revolutionary André Chenier’s motto, beheaded for having denounced the horrors of his time. I say, the news should be given without distorting its meaning, fighting political, economic interests that try to twist reality. I am direct, clear, not afraid nor ashamed. My face is covered, as I am a collective identity. “Art is dangerous. If it’s chaste it isn’t art”. (Pablo Picasso)

Pablo Picasso : Guernica is a painting by Pablo Picasso, inspired by Picasso's horror at the Nazi German bombing of Gernika, Spain on April 26, 1937 during the Spanish Civil War. The air raid destroyed the city, killing an estimated 1600 people and injuring many more. The huge mural was produced under a commission by the Spanish Republican government to decorate the Spanish Pavilion at the Paris International Exposition (the 1937 World's Fair in Paris). Picasso said as he worked on the mural: Guernica (painting) The Spanish struggle is the fight of reaction against the people, against freedom. My whole life as an artist has been nothing more than a continuous struggle against reaction and the death of art. How could anybody think for a moment that I could be in agreement with reaction and death? ... In the panel on which I am working, which I shall call Guernica, and in all my recent works of art, I clearly express my abhorrence of the military caste which has sunk Spain in
