Cruising a Motorbike in Huizhou 惠州, China (HD 1080p Helmet-cam)
Words can't really describe what it's like riding a motorcycle in China. But I once said, "it's like playing Asteroids and the winner makes it home alive." Well, here's some footage I shot using a Panasonic HD mini-camcorder I mounted to the front of my helmet while driving around the city I live in. I ride everyday and there's never a dull moment, just complete awareness.
Special thanks to Black Sabbath and Tony Iommi for one of the biggest monsters of a guitar riff ever in their song "Supernaut". Ride safe and enjoy.

Official in Huizhou at Guangdong using violence to force dem
Up next we have story of how forced demolition in China resulted in death. In Huizhou in Guangdong province, a local communist official was leading the demolition of farmer's pavillions outside tourist sites. The farmers had set up the pavillions hoping to sell some of their goods--the tourism development company had promised the locals a percentage of ticket sales when they moved into the area, but according to locals they were never actually compensated, so they turned to selling their vegetables as a way to make ends meet. A local official led a task force to destroy the farmer's pavillions on behalf of the tourism company. But the confrontation ended in his death.
Although the incident happened on June 2, it took a week for any media to pick up the story. The "South Rural Newspaper" reported on June 11 that a local communist official, Deng Kaihua, was leading a task force of 80 people charged with demolishing farmer's pavillions outside four construction projects along the Zhukeng River. The area was developed by the Tourism Development Zone of Nankun Mountain.
When the demolition team tried to force an elderly couple from Zhou Weilin out of their pavillion, family members rushed at the task force members with a machete, kitchen knives and shovels. Local official Deng Kaihua died after receiving a blow to the head.
Zhous relatives claim they attacked because the elderly woman had been pushed to the ground and almost thrown into the river. The family had also demanded a written document from the company about the demolition, but it was never produced.
The Tourism Development Zone of Nankun Mountain has developed various hotels and restaurants in recent years, but locals say they have never received the money promised them from ticket sales.
Nankun Mountain Management did not make public their plans for demolishing the illegal pavillions nor was it clear why some pavillions were allowed to remain while others were destroyed.

Special Report: 2008 Beijing Olympic Games
Following on the success of its Olympic Torch Relay Run in Guangzhou and Shenzhen, the Olympic Flame for the upcoming Beijing Olympic Games is now touring Huizhou in China's southern province of Guangdong.
A starting ceremony for the Beijing Olympics torch relay was held at Huizhou Stadium at eight o'clock on Friday morning.
The stadium in the city of Huizhou, nicknamed "the city of the goose" was built in the shape of a goose. Huizhou is scheduled to hold a sports event at the provincial level in 2010.
The first torchbearer was the local swimming champion, Chen Xiujun. She finished first in the women's two-hundred-meter backstroke at China's national games in 2001. Chen also took fourth place in the four-by-one hundred medley at the 2004 Athens Games.
A total of 208 torchbearers take part in the Olympic Torch Relay. The relay route stretches nearly 31-kilometers long. It covers lake-encircling scenery, avenues, trees, and mountains -- displaying an overall scene of "half landscape and half lake" in the city. The event is scheduled to end at five o'clock in the afternoon.
During the past 30 years of reform and opening-up, Huizhou has been an economic powerhouse in Guangdong. Manufacturing and research centers of world-famous brands, including General Electric, SONY, Samsung and Lenovo are all based in Huizhou. The city also boasts the world's largest battery producer as well as Asia's biggest telephone manufacturer.
