New England College (NEC) is a private four-year liberal arts college in Henniker, New Hampshire, enrolling a total of approximately 1800 undergraduate and graduate students.

The school was created in 1946 for students attending college on the G.I. Bill after World War II.

The Contoocook River runs through the center of the Henniker village and alongside the campus. A covered bridge joins the main campus with roughly 20 acres (8.1 ha) of athletic fields. The rural 26-acre (110,000 m²) campus features 30 buildings.

The school accepted 76% of its total number of applicants in 2008. The school offers associate's, bachelor's, and master's degrees. It is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges through its Commission on Institutions of Higher Education to award the bachelor's and master's degrees. The teacher education program is approved by the New Hampshire Department of Education. The Henniker Review is the school's annual literary publication.

There are several student organizations, including various student government committees, Adventure Bound Outdoor Leadership, Environmental Action Committee (EAC), the International Student Association, and Hillel. Students also publish an award-winning campus newspaper called The New Englander as well as operate an online streaming campus radio station WNEC-FM. Fraternities and sororities are also an active and vital part of New England College campus life. The Greek life chapters on campus are Alpha Phi Omega (co-ed), Theta Phi Alpha Phi Mu Delta, and Kappa Delta Phi NAS.

New England is a region in the northeastern corner of the United States consisting of the six states of Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut. New England is bordered by the Atlantic Ocean, Canada (the Canadian Maritimes and Quebec) and the state of New York.

In one of the earliest English settlements in North America, Pilgrims from England first settled in New England in 1620, to form Plymouth Colony. Ten years later, the Puritans settled north of Plymouth Colony in Boston, thus forming Massachusetts Bay Colony. Over the next 130 years, New England fought in four French and Indian Wars, until the British defeated the French and their native allies in North America. In the late 18th century, the New England Colonies initiated the resistance to the British Parliament's efforts to impose new taxes without the consent of the colonists. The Boston Tea Party was a protest that angered Great Britain, which responded with the "Intolerable Acts", stripping the colonies of self-government. The confrontation led to open warfare in 1775, the expulsion of the British from New England in spring 1776, and the Declaration of Independence in July 1776.

England ⁱ/ˈɪŋɡlənd/ is a country that is part of the United Kingdom. The Industrial Revolution began in 18th-century England, transforming its society into the world's first industrialised nation. England's Royal Society laid the foundations of modern experimental science.
