Mahler inspired scene - Death In Venice / Mort à Venise/ Tod in Venedig / Morte a Venezia
Gustav Mahler's tears upon departing Venice inspired Thomas Mann to write the novel, and this scene from the film where Aschenbach is playing with his daughter in the mountainous countryside was inspired by Mahler's life. Mahler spent time in Südtirol / Alto Adige, Italy where he wrote some of his symphonies. He was devastated by death of one of his two daughters and the infidelity his wife, Alma. Viscounti draws upon Mahler's tragic life to deepen Mann's story, as the continuous adagietto from Mahler's 5th symphony haunts the film. lacepeacock.blogspot.com

Indiscutiblemente, esta es una de las mejores versiones de este tema, que toca todas las fibras sentimentales y nos transporta en forma mágica a los escenarios que dibuja su compositor.
