Slotsholmen
Slotsholmen is an island in the harbour of Copenhagen and part of Copenhagen
Inner City. The name is taken from the successive castles and palaces located on the island since
Bishop Absalon constructed the city's first castle on the island in 1167 at the site where
Christiansborg Palace lies today.

National Museum of Denmark
The National Museum of Denmark (
Nationalmuseet) in Copenhagen is
Denmark's largest museum of cultural history, comprising the histories of
Danish and foreign cultures, alike. It contains exhibits from around the world, from
Greenland to

The
Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek (Glypto-, from the
Greek root glyphein, to carve and theke, a storing-place) is an art museum in
Copenhagen, Denmark. The collection is built around the personal collection of
Carl Jacobsen (1842--1914), the son of the founder of the
Carlsberg Breweries.

Kongens Nytorv &
Nyhavn
Kongens Nytorv (lit. "
King's New Square") is a public square in Copenhagen, centrally located at the end of the pedestrian street
Strøget. The finest and largest square of the city, it was laid out by
Christian V in 1670 in connection with a major extension of the fortified city, and has an equestrian statue of him at its centre.

Latin Quarter
The Latin Quarter is a neighbourhood in central Copenhagen. The name refers to the
Latin language, which was once widely spoken in and around the
University, whose historic home is situated on the other side of
Nørregade. Most of the student life has now been relocated to four new campuses but the area is still known for its lively atmosphere with an abundance of boutiques, cafés and night clubs.

Rosenborg Castle &

Rosenborg Castle is a renaissance castle located in Copenhagen.
The castle was originally built as a country summerhouse in 1606 and is an example of
Christian IV's many architectural projects. It was built in the
Dutch Renaissance style, typical of Danish buildings during this period, and has been expanded several times, finally evolving into its present condition by the year 1624.

Tivoli Gardens
Tivoli Gardens (or simply
Tivoli) is a famous amusement park and pleasure garden in Copenhagen. The park opened on
15 August 1843 and is the second oldest amusement park in the world, after Dyrehavsbakken in nearby
Klampenborg. Tivoli is the second most popular seasonal theme park in the world, the most visited theme park in
Scandinavia and the fourth most visited in
Europe, only behind
Disneyland Paris, Europa-Park
Rust and the Efteling.

Inner Harbour, along the canals of Slotsholmen and
