WKBT anchor Jennifer Livingston took a moment during Tuesday's morning newscast (Oct. 2, 2012) to directly address a recent email she received from a viewer complaining about her weight.
"To the person who wrote me that letter — do you think I don't know that? That your cruel words are pointing out something that I don't see?" Livingston asked in response. "You don't know me. You are not a friend of mine. You are not a part of my family. And you have admitted that you don't watch this show. So you know nothing about me but what you see on the outside. And I am much more than a number on the scale."
Livingston went on to say that October is National Anti Bullying Month, and that she hopes her response to the email will serve to raise awareness of bullying behavior, which is "passed down from people like the man who wrote me that email."
"If you are at home and talking about the fat news lady, guess what? Your children are probably going to go to school and call someone fat," Livingston said.
Livingston thanked friends, family and colleagues, saying, "I will never be able to thank you enough for your words of support, and for taking a stand against this bully. We are better than that email. We are better than the bullies that will try to take us down."

President Obama will give a live interview to CBS before it airs the Super Bowl on Sunday.
At 4:30 pm, Obama will field questions from CBS's Scott Pelley, continuing a long-standing tradition of providing interviews to the network airing the NFL championship, usually the most-watched television event of the year. Last year, Obama spoke with Matt Lauer before NBC broadcast the big game.
Pelley told The New Orleans Times-Picayune that he will talk pigskin with the president, but also has a range of "serious questions" to tackle.
"We have suddenly had some headwinds in the economy. Growth in the fourth quarter of last year shrank. We had negative growth. The unemployment rate went up, as we learned [Friday]. I'm going to talk to the president about what he thinks is going on there, and if he knows how to get us back on the track we want to be on," he said.
In addition, Pelley will ask about recent terrorist attacks targeting U.S. officials in North Africa. He may even ask about Lance Armstrong's recent admission of using performance-enhancing drugs, and ongoing concerns about the safety and injury concerns surrounding professional football.

David Michael Letterman (Indianapolis, 12 aprile 1947) è un conduttore televisivo, produttore e comico statunitense. È inoltre proprietario della scuderia Rahal Letterman Racing e si occupa spesso di filantropia.

Attualmente in Italia, lo stile del Late Show è riscontrabile nella trasmissione di denuncia satirica Striscia la notizia che utilizza in parte la stessa scenografia che riproduce una vetrata sulla città e presenta lo stesso intro: il conduttore lancia una serie di notizie d'attualità corredate da commenti ironici.
Dal 23 agosto 2011 lo show va in onda su Rai 5, in diretta differita, alle 23.15, dal martedì al sabato a sole 16h dalla diretta USA.

Figlio del fioraio Harry Joseph Letterman e di una segretaria di origini tedesche, Dorothy Hofert, David si è sposato per la prima volta nel 1969 con Michelle Cook; il matrimonio è durato fino al 1977. Nel 1986 ha conosciuto Regina Lasko, che lavorava nel suo Late Show, divenuta la sua storica compagna e in seguito, a partire dal 2009, la sua seconda moglie. I due si sono sposati a Choteau, nella Contea di Teton in Montana, dove possiedono un cottage. Insieme hanno un figlio di nome Harry, nato nel 2003. La relazione con la moglie tuttavia sta attualmente attraversando un periodo complicato: nel mese di ottobre 2009 il conduttore, durante una seguitissima puntata del suo show, ha ammesso di aver avuto relazioni extraconiugali con alcune donne del suo staff (tra cui Stephanie Birkitt). La rivelazione è stata resa necessaria per fermare un tentativo di estorsione a cui Letterman era stato sottoposto da un ex giornalista che era venuto a conoscenza delle scappatelle del conduttore. Lo scorso 15 novembre 2009 il National Enquirer riferiva che Letterman era stato cacciato via di casa dalla moglie, notizia poi smentita dal portavoce del conduttore televisivo.

Amanda Seyfried nasce a Allentown, Lehigh County in Pennsylvania, figlia di Ann, una terapista e Jack Seyfried, un farmacista. Sua sorella Jennifer è una musicista in un gruppo di Philadelphia, Love City. Si è diplomata nel 2003 alla Allentown's William Allen High School e si è iscritta alla New York City's Fordham University. Da adolescente è apparsa sulla copertina di tre libri di Francine Pascal.
Amanda ha iniziato la sua carriera come modella a undici anni. Nel 2000 debutta come attrice nel mondo delle soap opera, partecipando a Così gira il mondo e in seguito a La valle dei pini. Nel 2004 debutta nel cinema con la commedia adolescenziale Mean Girls, dove interpreta la svampita Karen.
Dal 2004 al 2006 interpreta Lilly Kane nella serie Veronica Mars; inoltre è comparsa in altre serie TV come Law & Order - Unità vittime speciali, Dr. House - Medical Division e CSI: Scena del crimine, Wildfire. Nel 2005 ottiene un ruolo nel film 9 vite da donna.
Nel 2006 ottiene la parte di Julie Beckley in Alpha Dog di Nick Cassavetes. Sempre nello stesso anno entra nel cast della serie della HBO Big Love. Nel 2008 è una delle interpreti principali al fianco di Meryl Streep nel film Mamma Mia!, trasposizione cinematografica dell'omonimo musical, dove dimostra le sue doti canore.
Amanda ha fatto parte del cast del film horror Jennifer's Body nel febbraio 2008 interpretando la migliore amica della protagonista. Nel 2010 ha recitato come protagonista al fianco di Channing Tatum nel film Dear John tratto dal libro di Nicholas Sparks, Ricordati di guardare la luna. Inoltre, dal 25 giugno 2009 è venuta in Italia, nella città di Verona per girare il film Letters to Juliet, uscito nelle sale italiane il 27 agosto 2010. Il cast include anche Vanessa Redgrave, Gael Garcia Bernal, Franco Nero e Christopher Egan. Ad aprile 2011 è uscito nelle sale americane il film Cappuccetto rosso sangue, basato sulla favola di Cappuccetto Rosso, dove la Seyfried ha il ruolo da protagonista, al fianco di Gary Oldman. Sempre nel 2011 è co-protagonista nel film In Time, dove interpreta Sylvia Weis.

Tracy Morgan (Brooklyn, 10 novembre 1968) è un attore e comico statunitense, conosciuto soprattutto per aver lavorato nelle serie televisive Saturday Night Live e 30 Rock, dove interpreta il personaggio di Tracy Jordan.

Morgan è nato a Brooklyn, New York, ed è il figlio di Jimmy Morgan, un musicista.[1] Dopo aver frequentato la De Witt Clinton High School nel Bronx, è stato scoperto nel 1984, durante uno spettacolo all'Apollo Theater.[2] Precedentemente, prima di cominciare la sua carriera nello spettacolo, è stato un imbianchino per la L&L Painting and Rose Company.
Morgan ha poi ottenuto un ruolo in Martin, interpretando Hustle Man: questo personaggio vendeva degli oggetti casuali, sfruttando un suo tormentone ("What's happ'n, chief?") e aveva un chihuahua vestito come un rapper. Nel 2003, è apparso in un film di Chris Rock, intitolato Head of State: nel suo ruolo, è apparso come un uomo appassionato di televisione, chiedendo alle altre persone perché non guardassero Martin.
Tracy è comparso regolarmente anche in Uptown Comedy Club, una commedia realizzata con diversi sketch e registrata ad Harlem e che è andata in onda dal 1992 al 1994, su diversi canali. Ha avuto un ruolo anche nello show della Home Box Office (HBO) Snaps.

Morgan è entrato a far parte del cast del Saturday Night Live nel 1996, dove ha lavorato regolarmente fino al 2003. Morgan ha interpretato un diverso numero di personaggi nello show, inclusi Brian Fellow(s), Dominican Lou, Bishop Don "Mack" Donald (dallo sketch Pimp Chat), Astronaut Jones, African Andy, Benny the Bengal e Woodrow (un senzatetto che vive nelle fogne e che, nonostante la sua malattia mentale, è gradito alle vip [come Britney Spears e Kate Hudson], che invita nella sua "casa"). Ha anche avuto uno spettacolo chiamato One Mic, andato in onda su Comic Central. È stato il primo ospite degli Spike Guys' Choice Awards, andati in onda il 13 giugno 2007. Nel 2003, ha partecipato a un episodio di Punk'd, dove la sua macchina è stata trainata da uno valet parking. Morgan può essere anche ascoltato come Spoonie Luv su Comedy Central, nel programma Crank Yankers e nella serie Where My Dogs At? su MTV2.
È stato poi protagonista di spot pubblicitari per i videogiochi ESPN NFL 2K, ESPN NBA 2K e ESPN NHL 2K, assieme a Warren Sapp, Ben Wallace e Jeremy Roenick. Ha partecipato al film L'altra sporca ultima meta, con protagonista Adam Sandler, nel ruolo di un prigioniero travestito.
Morgan ha condotto gli Hip Hop Honors per quattro anni consecutivi. Ha condotto anche la terza stagione di Scare Tactics su Sci Fi Channel, programma in cui una telecamera nascosta ha ripreso le reazioni della gente alle loro peggiori paure.

Morgan ha dichiarato di aver un grande numero di tatuaggi, inclusi: un simbolo della pace, una faccina felice e una triste, una croce con i nomi di sua moglie e dei tre figli, il nome di un amico che ha giocato a football con lui alle superiori e che è stato ucciso, le parole ME, MYSELF, & I e sulla schiena la frase Stove Top.[3]
Morgan si è sposato con la sua fidanzata, conosciuta alle superiori nel 1985. Hanno tre figli assieme: Tracy Jr. (nato nel 1986), Malcolm (nato nel 1987) e Gitrid (nata nel 1991).[4] Morgan ha chiesto il divorzio dopo ventitré anni di matrimonio, come riportato dal New York Daily News. Nonostante siano stati separati per otto anni, Morgan ha depositato una petizione alla Bronx Supreme Court il 7 agosto 2009. Un amico di famiglia ha parlato con il quotidiano, che ha titolato dicendo che Tracy e sua moglie erano ormai divorziati, anche se senza documenti ufficiali.[5]
Nel 1996, gli è stato diagnosticato il diabete, ma ha rifiutato le prescrizioni mediche e non ha cambiato la sua dieta. Dopo un malore sul set di 30 Rock, Morgan ha deciso finalmente di seguire i consigli del suo dottore. Attualmente, infatti, è molto attento alla sua condizione. Con il suo benestare, molti dei suoi problemi sono stati inscenati anche in 30 Rock.

Il 3 dicembre 2005, Morgan è stato arrestato ad Hollywood per guida in stato d'ebbrezza, completamente nudo ed in possesso di un pericoloso narcotico. Morgan non ha contestato niente ed ha patteggiato per i reati commessi.[6] Il 28 novembre 2006 è stato nuovamente arrestato (sempre per guida in stato d'ebbrezza), ma stavolta a Manhattan.[7]
Il 10 maggio 2007, una disc-jockey di Miami lo ha denunciato per i suoi problemi con l'alcool. Gli show che Morgan avrebbe dovuto fare in città nelle due notti successive sono stati cancellati. In accordo con i report della scena, Morgan aveva addosso l'odore dell'alcool, una potenziale violazione delle norme post-patteggiamento. Il 25 maggio, a Morgan è stato anche dato un braccialetto, che avrebbe controllato ogni trenta minuti se l'attore avesse bevuto, per novanta giorni. Il 19 settembre, ha ricevuto l'ordine di tenere il braccialetto per altri ottanta giorni, perché Morgan ha ammesso di aver violato la sua astinenza dall'alcool.[8] Ripetute violazioni possono portare ad una condanna al carcere. Quando è stato intervistato da TV Guide prima dell'edizione 2009 dei Golden Globes, Morgan ha dichiarato di non toccare alcool da oltre un anno.

Willard Mitt Romney (Detroit, 12 marzo 1947) è un politico e dirigente d'azienda statunitense.
Nel 2002 vinse le elezioni per l'ufficio di governatore dello Stato del Massachusetts, che occupò fino al 4 gennaio 2007, scadenza naturale del mandato.
Ha partecipato alla corsa per la nomination presidenziale repubblicana per le elezioni del 2008 ma il 7 febbraio ha annunciato di rinunciare alla Candidatura spianando definitivamente la strada a John McCain.
È stato amministratore delegato, dal 1977, della società di consulenza Bain & Company e fondatore nel 1984, del fondo di private equity Bain Capital. Romney è stato anche a capo dell'organizzazione dei XIX Giochi olimpici invernali svoltisi a Salt Lake City nel 2002.
È il candidato repubblicano alle Elezioni presidenziali statunitensi del 2012.

Mitt Romney è il figlio dell'ex-Governatore del Michigan e candidato alle elezioni presidenziali del 1968 George W. Romney, e della candidata alle elezioni del 1970 al Senato americano Lenore Romney. Fu chiamato "Willard" in onore del miglior amico del padre, il magnate alberghiero J. Willard Marriott. Il suo secondo nome, Mitt, lo ricevette in onore di un cugino paterno, Milton, che giocò come quarterback per la squadra di football americano Chicago Bears dal 1925 al 1929.
Mitt Romney ha due sorelle e un fratello più grandi: Lynn Romney Keenan, Jane Romney Robinson, e G. Scott Romney. Sin da giovane mostrò interesse alle vicende politiche, partecipando insieme al padre alle marce in favore dei diritti civili. È un membro della comunità religiosa dei mormoni.
[modifica] Gli studi e la missione
Mitt Romney si diplomò nel liceo Cranbrook School in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan nel 1965. Dopo aver frequentato per un semestre l'Università di Stanford, Romney servì una missione di 30 mesi in Francia per la Chiesa di Gesù Cristo dei Santi degli Ultimi Giorni (chiesa mormone).
Nel giugno del 1968, durante la sua missione Romney fu coinvolto in un grave incidente automobilistico che causò il decesso di uno dei passeggeri. Mentre conduceva un'auto che trasportava altri missionari, si scontrò frontalmente con un'altra vettura. La responsabilità del sinistro fu attribuito dalle autorità francesi al conducente dell'altra vettura.
Terminata la missione, Romney frequentò con successo la Brigham Young University, dove, nel 1971, ottenne come valedictorian la laurea di Bachelor con lode. Nel 1975 conseguì, ad Harvard, tramite un corso congiunto un Juris Doctor (dottorato professionale in legge), con lode, e un Master in Business Administration, risultando uno dei primi cinque del suo corso.

Terminati gli studi, Romney rimase nel Massachusetts dove fu assunto dalla Boston Consulting Group con la quale, precedentemente fece uno stage nell'estate del 1974. Dal 1978 al 1984, Romney occupò la posizione di vicepresidente nella Bain & Company, un'altra società di consulenza con il quartier generale a Boston.
Nel 1984 fondò assieme a Bill Bain, T. Coleman Andrews III, Eric Kriss, la Bain Capital, che ha ha investito in o acquisito, centinaia di aziende, tra cui AMC Entertainment, Aspen Education Group, Brookstone, Burger King, Burlington Coat Factory, Clear Channel Communications, Domino's Pizza, DoubleClick, Dunkin' Donuts, D & Holdings M, Guitar Center, Ospedale Corporation America (HCA), Sealy, The Sports Authority, Staples, Toys "R" Us, Warner Music Group e The Weather Channel. Mitt Romney, la società Bain Capital, e le sue azioni, sono diventati oggetto di controllo politico e dei media, a seguito della successiva carriera politica del co-fondatore di Mitt Romney, per il conflitto di interessi con la sua campagna presidenziale del 2012.
