Tour of Oman 2013 - Stage 6 Race Report
The final stage of the 2013 Tour of Oman - a 144km ride from Hawit Nagam Park to Matrah Corniche. Follow GCN on YouTube: gcn.eu Stage Six, the final stage of the Tour of Oman for 2013 saw Chris Froome of Team Sky on the verge of victory - all his teammates needed to do was ensure that he kept his lead over Alberto Contador. The peloton seemed very relaxed, and allowed a group of three riders, Katyusha's Gatis Smukulis, Vacansoleil's Wesley Kreder, and Bardiani Valvole-CSF Inox's Andrea di Corrado to get a long way away. Fortunately the pace picked up and the group were caught just before the inevitable sprint finish at the end. Taxco urban downhill mountain bike race - mhltd.blogspot.com
In this footage filmed from a camera mounted on a rider's helmet, we see MHLTD sponsored race winner Brendan Fairclough's hair-rasing descent through the narrow streets of Taxco in Mexico. Taking part in the Taxco urban downhill, Fairclough races down steep stairs, on a mud track, through suburban streets, squeezes through alleyways and jumps over makeshift ramps -- all in under four and a half minutes. This is a part of the social campaign that MHLTD is go-green organisation and against vehicular pollution. We also chose to participate in Mexico event to protest against drug trafficking. Abdullah Tahiri is going to attend the next event with his chopper gang. Source: YouTube Length: 4min 33sec Friday 9 November 2012 Source: Guardian.co.uk Length: 4min 33sec Friday 9 November 2012

Men's Points Race - exciting finish - 2013 UCI World Track Championships, Minsk - Track Cycling
Men's Points Race - exciting finish - 2013 UCI World Track Championships, Minsk - Track Cycling Track cycling dates back to at least 1870 and, with the exception of 1912, has played a part in every Olympics in the modern era. Track Cycling events can be roughly split into 2 disciplines -- Sprinting and Endurance Sprint Events: Individual Sprint This is a very tactical event in which riders try to outmanoeuvre their opponents. Sometimes riders will come to a standstill in an effort to make their opponent take the lead, which is the least advantageous position before the final sprint to the finish line. Team Sprint This spectacular form of racing sees two teams start off on opposite sides of the track. It is raced by teams of three riders over three laps for Elite Men and two riders over two laps for Elite Women. Each rider leads for a lap before dropping back. Kilometre / 500m Time Trial This is an individual time trial from a standing start. Elite Men race over 1km and Elite Women over 500 m. The competitor with the fastest time is the winner. Keirin Keirin racing originated in Japan. Contested over 2 km, the field of three to seven riders follows a pacing motorbike at an increasing speed, all the while jostling for position. When the motorbike pulls off the track with two and a half laps to go, the battle begins to win the sprint to the finish. Endurance Events: Individual Pursuit Two riders start on opposite sides of the track and compete over 4 km for Elite Men and 3 ...

Urban downhill mountain bike race - Red Bull Monserrate Devotees 2012
MTB downhill riders flyed down the Mythic Monserrate hill in Colombia. The winner of the Red Bull Monserrate Devotees was the Slovak athlete Filip Polc who managed to go through the 2.2 km downhill track in only 04:26 minutes. Think you can do better? Hop in an airplane, find the Monserrate hill, have your buddy film you doing the same set, and create a video response...or just watch the video. Both options are pretty sweet. redbull.com Subscribe www.youtube.com

Cyclo-Cross World Championships Elite Men's Race - WHOLE RACE RE-RUN
This is the Elite Men's Race from the 2013 UCI Cyclo-Cross World Championships from Louisville, Kentucky. The origins of cyclo-cross are a matter of much debate. One theory we like is that in the early 1900s, French cyclists would race each other from one town to the next by whichever route they thought would be the fastest. They would cut through fields and forests, carry their bike over fences and generally take any shortcut they could in order to make it to the finish first! Today, Cyclo-cross is raced on a circuit of between 2.5km and 3.5km. The terrain is varied and may include clearings, roads, country lanes, sands and forest paths. Riders are required to complete several laps of the circuit over a period of no more than one hour. Sometimes they have to carry their bikes in order to negotiate steep paths, muddy tracks and artificial obstacles. Technical back-up is permitted. This spectacular discipline is an unbeatable school of cycling in that it requires incredible technical skill, impressive physical fitness and plenty of courage. The Holstee Manifesto Lifecycle Video
holstee.com/manifesto
The Holstee Manifesto is a call to action to live a life full of intention, creativity, passion, and community.
The LifeCycle Film came about as a desire to bring the energy and passion behind the Manifesto to life through something we love--biking. As we seek to live mindful lifestyles that leave a positive impact on the people and world around us, biking has become a passion that is much more than a transportation alternative. It is a way of fully experiencing the city we love and all of its details.
This Film is a celebration. It is a celebration of gatherings, of diversity, of life, and of the beauty of shared experience. We hope you enjoy.

For those who do not know, auroras are caused by solar activity. This is shortly visualized in the video. Our suns activity varies in 11 year cycles, and we are closing solar maximum (solar max) for our current solar cycle somewhere between 2012-2013, and solar activity with corresponding auroral activity has clearly been picking up. The beginning of 2011 was lots of clouds but weather improved late 2011 and out 2012. This video contains recordings from some of the most spectacular auroral displays I have ever witnessed, and I have seen a few.
For this video I did shoot approx 150.000 exposures from sept.2011 - april.2012 using Canon DSLR's and various wide angle lenses. Approx 6.000 frames in this video. To achieve pannings I used the fantastic Stage Zero + MX2 controller time-lapse gear from Dynamic Perception.
The video is a merge of two parts; the first part contains some more wild and aggressive auroras, as well as a few milky way sequences, hence either auroras are moving fast because they are, or they are fast due to motion of the milky way / stars. Still, some of the strait up shots are very close to real-time speed, although auroras mostly are slower, she can also be FAST! The second part has some more slow and majestic auroras, where I have focused more on composition and foreground. The music should give you a clear indication of where you are :)
Again, choosing what sequences to use was a battle, and many good sequences will have to wait for a later project I am working on ;) - More info about this will be announced on my facebook site. http://facebook.com/arcticlightphoto
This video summarizes the end of a hectic aurora season for me, and my last shots was done only a few days ago. However now the late sunlight is making it hard to shoot the auroras at night up here, so I decided enough was enough for now, and time to release the video.
I have driven thousands of km between locations up here in the arctic this season, and while on location(s) I was running between 2-3 cameras like a madman, and almost every sequence you see in this video also has been shot using circular fish-eye optics, for yet another project to come. Luckily I had some good company on many of the cold nights.
Gear used:
Canon EOS 5D Mark II, Canon EOS 5D Mark III
Canon 15mm f/2.8, Canon 24mm f/1.4 II, Canon 17-40 f/4, Nikon 14-24 f/2.8,
Samyang 14mm f/2.8, Samyang 24mm f/1.4
Dynamic Perception Stage Zero + MX2, Orion/Merlin AZ Teletrack head.
Thanks to:

Thorbjørn Riise Hågensen
Helge Mortensen

Check it out here: http://www.dynamicperception.com
Hope you like the video, and that you by watching it are able to understand my fascination and awe for this beautiful celestial phenomenon.
Video will also be available in 4K Digital Cinema on request.

Trek World Racing XC 2012 || Saalfelden World Champs
In an amazing race of changing fortunes, Trek World Racing's Swiss duo of Luk and Math Flueckiger fulfilled a career long dream of standing together on a World Championship podium, and in so doing, became the first pair of siblings to do so in the sport. It was a roller coaster ride over the 8 laps that saw Math fighting through traffic at the start from a third row grid position, and Luk fighting back from around 12th place after suffering a motivation issue during the 3rd lap. 18 year old New Zealander Anton Cooper signed off brilliantly from his international junior racing career by taking the win here in Saalfelden (AUT) at the World Championships, and walking away with the coveted UCI Rainbow Jersey that he's been targeting for the whole season. In winning, he became the first New Zealander to ever stand on the top step at a XC World Championship.
