Jimmy Wales - Keeping Wikipedia Politically Neutral
Complete video at: fora.tv Wikipedia founder Jimmy Wales discusses how a site with an open editorial policy is able to maintain political neutrality in its articles. ----- Vision: Wikipedia and the Future of Free Culture Vision is one of the most powerful forms of long-term thinking. Jimmy Wales, founder and president of the all-embracing online encyclopedia Wikipedia, examines how vision drives and defines that project and its strategy - and how it fits into the even larger world and prospects of "free culture." "The design of Wikipedia," said its founder and president Jimmy Wales, "is the design of community." When Wikipedia was started in 2001, all of its technology and software elements had been around since 1995. Its innovation was entirely social - free licensing of content, neutral point of view, and total openness to participants, especially new ones. The core engine of Wikipedia, as a result, is "a community of thoughtful users, a few hundred volunteers who know each other and work to guarantee the quality and integrity of the work." Wikipedia, already enormous, continues to accelerate its growth. It is one of the top 20 websites, with 5 billion page views monthly. As an encyclopedia, it is larger than Britannica and Encarta combined and is now in so many languages, only 1/3 of the total Wikipedia is in English. When Wales went to Taiwan last week, strangers recognized him on the train, and 1200 came to his talk. (One attraction to a Chinese audience is that ...

Don't ever trust Wikipedia!!!
Dont ever trust wikipedia. Jimmy Wales(who used to run porn sites ) a storng supporter of the zionist lobby in America. Dont ever trust a crook like him. "Wikipedia is an internet encyclopedia, that anyone can edit and add information. Wikipedia claims it's articles are based on a totally neutral point of view(as the claimed). It's size is formidable, at 2.5 billion views a month." But Once you get below the surface, you find moderators that follow an agenda, which clearly takes a Pro-Jewish point of view. The project of wikipedia is an attempt to control student research on the Internet. For example any subject Googled will show Wikipedia as one of the first entries. Type in the word Bolshevik, and the first entry is Wikipedia. Explore their version, and you won't be the slightest mention that the movement was a JEWISH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, that was responsible for 20000000 deaths. Therefore Wikipedia's claim: ~ 'We are an internet encyclopedia with a neutral stance' ~ is absurd.

msm media lies
tonight on the six pm news kalb must have used two town talk stories for news. the first one was a story the town talk posted to their website at 12:34 pm cst captioned: "ethics hearing for lawson and brown postponed until march." kalb anchor dale hoffman, begin the bit by stating "published reports." we weren't able to record the "published" part but if you play with the video timer bar you can hear when mr. hoffman said "...reports." although, whoever wrote the script for that bit was very clever in writing "reports" in the plural, the town talk story and a central la politics blog post "lawson & brown ethics hearing continued!" time-stamped 11:54 am cst are the only "published reports" to be found. furthermore, a search of the state ethics board website returns only the letter to councilman myron lawson and bridgett brown both dated 23 october 2007. next is a wikipedia story. kalb must have culled this story as well from the town talk website as this morning they have a story by mandy m. goodnight captioned "false information about pineville, bolton getting new principals spread online." what kalb doesnt tell you is that if you go to the wikipedia entry for kalb-tv and click on the "revision history of kalb-tv" tab and then scroll down you will find that on for instance 10 and 19 april 2007 an ip# 12.5.1.207 resolves to a computer registered to ...media general. this would appear to be a violation by media general/kalb of, including but not limited to, wikipedia's ...

Wikipedia editors question site's blackout
Can the world live without Wikipedia for a day? The shutdown of one of the internet's most-visited sites is not sitting well with some of its volunteer editors, who say the protest of anti-piracy legislation could threaten the credibility of their work. "My main concern is that it puts the organisation in the role of advocacy, and that's a slippery slope," said editor Robert Lawton, a Michigan computer consultant who would prefer that the encyclopedia stick to being a neutral repository of knowledge. "Before we know it, we're blacked out because we want to save the whales." Wikipedia has shut down access to its English-language site for 24 hours . Instead of encyclopedia articles, visitors see information about the two congressional bills and details about how to reach lawmakers. It is the first time the English site has been blacked out. Wikipedia's Italian site came down once briefly in protest to an internet censorship bill put forward by the Berlusconi government. The bill did not advance. The shutdown adds to a growing body of critics who are speaking out against the legislation. But some editors are so uneasy with the move that they have blacked out their own user profile pages or resigned their administrative rights on the site to protest. Some likened the site's decision to fighting censorship with censorship. One of the site's own "five pillars" of conduct says that Wikipedia "is written from a neutral point of view". The site strives to "avoid advocacy, and we ...

Mocht je meer informatie willen of contact met me willen opnemen dan kun je me het makkelijkst via twitter bereiken: jelmerevers of via mijn blog: ictgeschiedenis.blogspot.com Credits Video (Youtube) Apple - iPad 2 TV Ad - Now Assassin's Creed 2 - Gameplay Trailer Backchanneling with Todays Meet Boring Economics Teacher (Ferris Bueller's Day Off) Civilization 5 gameplay trailer Diigo V5.0_ Collect, Highlight and Remember! About the Project
---------------------------
As of today, it is estimated that there are more than 7 billion humans living on Earth.
Humans have only been a glimpse in the Earth’s timeline, yet in the last 200 years the evolution of mankind has skyrocketed as well as the need for Earth’s resources.
Skyscrapers are growing taller than the next, like huge trees battling for sunlight. At night, from a higher point of view, traffic evokes lava flowing down a volcano.
Like a giant ant colony, humans have made this planet their own. But what about the Earth? Can we continue to take without consequences?
The City Limits tries to show that even though humans are the dominant species on the planet, there is something bigger than us.
In Carl Sagan’s own words “Our planet is a lonely speck in the great enveloping cosmic dark. In our obscurity, in all this vastness, there is no hint that help will come from elsewhere to save us from ourselves. It is up to us.”
Human progress and technology are developing at exponential rates but at what cost?
Where is the city’s limit?

Nominating Congressman Jim Nussle as Director of the Office of Management and Budget (2007)
James Allen "Jim" Nussle (born June 27, 1960, Des Moines, Iowa) is an American politician and was the director of the Office of Management and Budget. Nussle was a Republican member of the United States House of Representatives from 1991 to 2007. He was the Republican nominee for the November 2006 election for Governor of Iowa, and was defeated by Chet Culver. When the incumbent six-term Republican in what was then the 2nd District, Tom Tauke made an unsuccessful run against Senator Tom Harkin during the 1990 election, Nussle ran as the Republican candidate for Tauke's House seat. Nussle's first election to the House was the closest election for him during his entire tenure in the House. He and challenger Eric Tabor had been in a virtual dead heat in the time leading up to the election. Just before the election, Tabor became embroiled in a controversy regarding absentee ballots that family members had cast. This controversy caused some votes to not be counted at the end, and also cost Tabor other votes as well. Tabor did not concede the election to Nussle until the day after the election. In 1992, as a result of redistricting, Nussle ran against fellow House member Dave Nagle. This was because Iowa's House delegation was being reduced from six down to five Representatives. The areas that Nussle and Nagle had represented in Congress were combined for the 1992 election. Nussle won, even though he had only one term under his belt to Nagle's three. Nussle's first exposure to ...
