World Social Forum in Tunisia

Ever since the creation of the World Social Forum in 2001, the Greens have participated in this unique set of people's forums. The 2013 World Social Forum will take place in Tunis, Tunisia from 26-30 March 2013 (see www.fsm2013.org). It is the first time that the WSF goes into a country which is still in the making, with many hopes, but equally with many fears that the "Arab Spring" might quickly end in an Arab Autumn. Read more

Global Greens Secretary

Applications are now closed. The Global Greens invite applications for the position of Global Greens Secretary, based in the European Greens' office in Brussels, Belgium, starting in early 2013. The Secretary’s role is to provide assistance to the GGC, Convener, Executive and Treasurer (see below for detailed job description). The appointment of a full-time Secretary is a major step forward in the development of the Global Greens. Read more

Global Greens Secretariat and Executive

The Global Greens Coordination (GGC) is delighted to announce that, in a major step forward, the Global Greens Secretariat will move from Australia to Brussels in 2013 with the position of Secretary becoming full-time. The GGC met in Athens on 6-8 November in the lead up to this weekend’s European Greens Council meeting and made several significant decisions. Read more

West African Green Congress

Green Parties from West Africa held an Extra-Ordinary West African Greens Congress from 19th -21st October in Niamey, Niger.

The political parties present, elected a new Executive Committee that will manage the affairs of the regional federation for the next two years.

US Green Presidential Candidates Arrested

The presidential and vice presidential candidates on the Green Party ticket were arrested when they tried to get into the site of the second presidential debate.  Jill Stein and her running mate, Cheri Honkala, showed up holding an American flag at Hofstra University on Long Island.
