Let's Compose... A String Quartet! Episode 1: Introduction
Welcome to my new series. With this series I will be composing a new piece for string quartet and commentating my process as I go on. The aim is to create some compelling content, explain some of the processes and thoughts that go behind my compositional approach and to be informative for people interested in taking up composition. The format of this series is inspired by YouTube "Let's Players" that commentate on their games as they play them. In particular: BDoubleO http://www.youtube.com/user/BdoubleO100 Ethoslab http://www.youtube.com/user/EthosLab and the Mindcrack team. Intro Music: "Summer" by Edward Caine and Alan Gillot, performed by Robert Rice and William Vann More information about me: http://www.edwardcaine.com/ In this episode we just introduce the series and talk about some of the ideas that are going to be going into the piece. If you have any suggestions or comments please feel free to comment below. I will be reading them. To save you some time: This is the first time I've done this, I did have to skip the video quite a lot, and I ran out of tape and had to start again at one point. I think I made a couple of grammar errors as I was speaking and haven't tried to fix them. Commentating is quite difficult. I don't really have any cheery music to use for the intro and outro yet. I'm hoping this piece will take the place of "Summer". Music is a very subjective thing and I fully accept that you may not like mine. If that's the case then it doesn't really need to be said. My explanation of harmonics was a little vague and rushed - sorry about that, second time I had done it and had lost the thread a bit. Please leave a like if you like it and subscribe if you'd like more. More information about my music can be found on my website.- published: 24 Jul 2013

Rock N Roll Pop Superhits Of The 50s ,60s and 70s Compose By Djeasy
Rock and roll (often written as rock & roll or rock 'n' roll) is a genre of popular music that originated and evolved in the United States during the late 1940s and early 1950s,[1][2] primarily from a combination of African-American genres such as blues, jump blues, jazz, and gospel music,[3] together with Western swing and country music.[4] Though elements of rock and roll can be heard in blues records from the 1920s[5] and in country records of the 1930s,[4] the genre did not acquire its name until the 1950s The term rock and roll now has at least two different meanings, both in common usage referring to the first wave of music that originated in the US in the 1950s and would later develop into the more encompassing international style known as rock music, and as a term simply synonymous with the rock music and culture in the broad sense.[8] For the purpose of differentiation, this article deals with the first definition. In the earliest rock and roll styles of the late 1940s and early 1950s, either the piano or saxophone was often the lead instrument, but these were generally replaced or supplemented by guitar in the middle to late 1950s.[9] The beat is essentially a blues rhythm with an accentuated backbeat, the latter almost always provided by a snare drum.[10] Classic rock and roll is usually played with one or two electric guitars (one lead, one rhythm), a string bass or (after the mid-1950s) an electric bass guitar, and a drum kit.[9] Beyond simply a musical style, rock and roll, as seen in movies and on television, influenced lifestyles, fashion, attitudes, and language. It went on to spawn various sub-genres, often without the initially characteristic backbeat, that are now more commonly called simply rock music or rock These are some of the popular rock n roll stars back in the days...... "A Kiss From Tokyo" Theatrical trailer
Official selection for best advertising at Annecy Festival 2010!!!
"A Kiss From Tokyo", Theatrical Trailer (1964) - Yuki 7 dashes around the world in hot pursuit of the tantalizingly tricky Diamond Eye, who is stealing parts and plans and leaving behind a path of murdered scientists in her quest to build a missile inside her volcanic lair.
I co-directed it with and for Kevin Dart.
This animation is a part of a promotional event about the release of Kevin's new book, "Seductive Espionage, the world of Yuki 7" which was released in summer 2009.
Kevin produced the graphics and I gave them life in After Effects.
I tried to catch what was typical about the vintage look of the movies from this period. Lighting, grain, old school Special Effects (car chase in a studio with background projected film, miniature sets), editing, old fashion transitions, Music, etc...
Cyrille Marchesseau created a great piece of music inspired by Laurie Johnson (The Avengers) and John Barry (James bond).
Order the book, "Seductive Espionage: The World of Yuki 7" from www.fleetstreetscandal.com
