Mixture Of Perceptions Among Igbo, Hausa & Yoruba Tribes Of Nigeria
Nigeria, a multi-cultural/multi-ethnic society has three major ethnic groups; Hausa, Igbo and Yoruba. These three ethnic groups characterize the three major regions of the country (North, East and West), thus defining the behaviours and outlooks of life of the people.
The diversities of these three languages has made it possible for each to have its own perceptions about the others thereby creating a mixture of perceptions that is very important in defining the picture and story of the Nigerian nationhood and the struggle of its people to understand their differences for better co-existence and respect for each other.

Who are we Israelis?מי אנחנו הישראלים Кто мы Евреи? Израильтяне?
Israelis (Hebrew: ישראלים, Yisra'elim), are citizens or nationals of the modern state of Israel. Although Israel is a Jewish state, it has a multiethnic society, home to people of different ethnic and national backgrounds. The largest ethnic group is that of Israeli Jews, followed by Arab citizens, mostly Arab Muslims, with smaller numbers of Arab Christians in addition to Druze, Circassians, and others. As a result, some Israelis don't take their nationality as an ethnicity, but identify themselves with both their nationality and their ancestral origins.
Due to the multi-ethnic composition, Israel is a multicultural nation, home to a wide variety of traditions and values. Large-scale immigration in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries from Europe and Yemen and more recent Large-scale immigration from North Africa, Western Asia, North America, Former Soviet Union and Ethiopia introduced many new cultural elements and has had broad impact. The resulting cultural mix may be described as a melting pot.

►►► Multiethnic Brazil: affirmative action to help Afro-Brazilians - Milton Bragatti ►►►
After the FIFA World Cup in South Africa, Brazil will be the next host to both the soccer World Cup and the Olympic Games, and the multiethnic state also intends to highlight racial diversity and integration. Many Brazilians have African ancestors, others are of European descent. When it comes to education and employment, black Brazilians often lose out. Racial Quotas for Afro-Brazilians at universities and other parts of society are now being discussed. But even though racism is an everyday reality in Brazil, it's not a topic most people want to talk about openly, as Milton Bragatti reports from São Paulo.

Q&A;: After the Riot: the Meaning for Multicultural Australia
The riot in Sydney by Islamic protestors has raised questions about the health of Australian multiculturalism. Are the values that have made Australia a successful 'immigrant nation' now under threat? Are internal divisions straining the social fabric of our multi-ethnic society? We are now revaluating our national self-perception and wondering if Australia is really the peaceful and harmonious nation we imagine it to be.
CIS Researchers Benjamin Herscovitch, Revd Peter Kurti and Dr. Jeremy Sammut consider what the riot means for tolerance, pluralism and liberal democracy.

Multicultural Misrepresentations
On the BBC's incessant attempt to project a multi-ethnic society into medieval and earlier British history when no such thing existed. This is deceit and manipulation, for politically correct purposes.

Muscat capital of Oman - Unravel Travel TV
Muscat is the capital of Oman. Muscat was ruled by various indigenous tribes as well as foreign powers such as the Persians and the Portuguese Empire at various points in its history. A regional military power in the 18th century, Muscat's influence extended as far as East Africa and Zanzibar. As an important port-town in the Gulf of Oman, Muscat attracted foreign tradesmen and settlers such as the Persians, the Balochs and Gujaratis. Since the ascension of Qaboos bin Said as Sultan of Oman in 1970, Muscat has experienced rapid infrastructural development that has led to the growth of a vibrant economy and a multi-ethnic society. The rocky Western Al Hajar Mountains dominate the landscape of Muscat. The city lies on the Arabian Sea along the Gulf of Oman and is in the proximity of the strategic Straits of Hormuz. Low-lying white buildings typify most of Muscat's urban landscape, while the port-district of Muttrah, with its corniche and harbour, form the north-eastern periphery of the city. Muscat's economy is dominated by trade, petroleum and porting.

BFM Uncensored - What's Islamic, What's Not? With Tariq Ramadan
Author of "The Arab Awakening" and Professor of Contemporary Islamic Studies at Oxford University, Tariq Ramadan shares his thoughts on applying Islamic values in a multi-ethnic society like Malaysia. Among some of the other things BFM's Melisa Melina Idris talks about with Ramadan are the Hudud Law, equality between the rich and poor, setting up of an Islamic state and the level of tolerance Muslims should have towards homosexuals.

Coren & Fatah on Salman Rushdie's ban
In the battle between the 'easy-to-offend' types and those arguing for freedom of expression, Congress appears to be leaning in favour of the hardline opinion. A day after a set of Muslim organisations forced the Rajasthan government to decline celebrated writer Salman Rushdie a video link at the Jaipur Literature Festival, Congress general secretary Digivijaya Singh sprang to the defence of the state administration.
"We are a multi-religious, multi-ethnic society. We can't allow anyone to hurt the sentiments of any particular religious group - be it Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs, Christians, Buddhists or any other. We must respect their sentiments and not hurt them," Singh wrote on micro-blogging site Twitter.
Rushdie on Tuesday could not address the gathering at Jaipur after the owner of the venue, Diggi Palace, Ram Prataap Singh, cited the state administration's warning to deny permission. The Muslim outfits had threatened violence if his image was shown.
In an interview to a television channel, Rushdie, the author of 'The Satanic Verses', said he felt disappointment on behalf of the country and lashed out at the Congress for being in connivance with "religious gangsters for electoral gains".
Congress spokesperson Renuka Chowdhury too had defended the decision when she said the organisers had not been left with any other choice in view of the protests. "There are many issues to look at in the Rushdie episode. There were a lot of people agitating against it (Rushdie's proposed address). Whether it was against freedom of expression, we can look at it collectively later," Chowdhury said.
The Rajasthan Police had told reporters in Jaipur that they had conveyed to the organisers that they cannot allow Rushdie to speak through video in view of resentment simmering in the city against his address.
Rushdie said that it was very convenient for everyone in Congress that he did not come to India just before the Uttar Pradesh elections scheduled in February-March.
"I wasn't contacted by anyone in the government at the beginning. The Rajasthan authorities were saying to the organisers that they wanted to make my trip possible. But as it got closer and closer that commitment started to waiver. I have some skepticism about how genuine their commitment was. It was very convenient to everyone in Congress that I did not come just before the UP vote," he had said.
