SETI I ,was a great warrior Pharaoh of the 19th Dynasty. He was son of Ramesses I and was the father of Ramesses II the Great. Seti I ruled Egypt approximately between 12 - 15 years (approximately during 1294 - 1279 BC.)there is disagreement among researchers, for most were 11 years (almost 12) the years of his reign but for others were 15/16 years Seti I, was the first of the line of warriors who turned all efforts toward recovering the greatness of Egypt. As soon as Seti I came to the throne, he faced serious danger from a coalition of Syrian states, and even, by the Hittites. He was able to defeat the coalition and enable Egypt to recover the control over Palestine. After he repulsed a Libyan attack,Seti was once again in northern Syria where Egyptian troops came into contact with the Hittites for the first time. He captured Kadesh but though the Hittites were forced to retire temporarily they retained their influence in northern Syria. The war was continued by his son Ramses II. His tomb in the Valley of the Kings is very large and is one of the longest found. However his mummy was not found in situ, but was found together with that of his son in the Royal cachette, discovered at Dier el Bahri in June 1881. The mummy is in excellent state of preservation and virtually undamaged by ancient tomb robbers. The facial features are particularly impressive and show a hooked nose which becomes a particularly prominent feature of the Ramsid kings. The mummy is at present kept in the Egyptian Museum Cairo, in this video you can see paintings of him located in his cenotaph temple of abydos, showing Seti delivering offerings to gods & Goddesses, also the Famous pharaoh's list where we can see Seti I and his son a young Ramesses II, also image of this temple and image of his mortuary temple on the west bank (luxor) Also some sculptures of him, some of his shabtis of beautiful blue faience (were found more than 700 in his tomb) and finally his mummy.
