Real Estate - Municipality (Live @ Insound Studio Sessions)
There were few releases on the 2011 horizon that we were anticipating as much as Real Estate's sophomore album so when the guys were able to come in and record a session of tracks from the upcoming Days, needless to say we were thrilled. The band laid down three excellent new tracks and their hushed autumn vibes were on full display as you'll no doubt be able to tell from the videos. Interest Rate-Fixing Scandal Swindles Baltimore, Other Municipalities out of Millions of Dollars
Amidst the financial crisis of 2008 and resultant recession, cities and states around the country lost millions of dollars on investments tied to the London Interbank Offered Rate (Libor). Far from a "free market phenomenon," they say the rate was suppressed by a cartel of some of the world's largest banks, and the city of Baltimore is taking them to court.

MUNICIPALITIES RESISTING FRACKING IN NYS THROUGH HOME RULE TELL THEIR STORY
Press Release by Sustainable Otsego, Catskill Citizens for Safe Energy and Otsego 2000 ------------------------------------------------- For written statements, please visit shaleshockmedia dot org ------------------------------------------------- Local officials who voted to impose municipal bans on hydraulic fracturing will gather in the state capitol in Albany on Monday 18 June to call attention to the rapidly expanding ?home rule? movement that is sweeping upstate New York. ?I don?t think that most people are aware of the full extent of this movement, or how quickly it is taking hold? says Karen Edelstein, who keeps track of local anti-fracking ordinances and initiatives for FracTracker, an organization dedicated to collecting and sharing information related to shale gas drilling.? In a little over a year, nearly one hundred and thirty municipalities have used home rule to enact bans or moratoria that prohibit fracking in close to forty-five hundred square miles of New York State.? ?The state constitution gives municipalities the authority to prohibit activities that threaten the health and welfare of residents, and we?d be derelict in our duty if we didn?t exercise this power to protect the public? says Don Barber, Supervisor of the Town of Caroline. He said his decision was motivated by health and safety considerations, and a concern that fracking would negatively impact property values and the municipal tax base. Julie Huntsman, Otsego Town Board Member, says a ...

Coimbra - Portugal
Coimbra is a city in Coimbra Municipality in Portugal. It served as the country's capital during the First Dynasty (12th Century) and remains home to the University of Coimbra, the oldest academic institution in the Portuguese-speaking world and one of the oldest in Europe. According to the INE's census of 2001, the city proper had a population of 101069 and the municipality had a population of 148443 in a 319.4 km² land area. Over 430000 people live in the Greater Metropolitan Area of Coimbra, comprising 16 municipalities and spreading over 3372 km². It is the seat of the Centro region, as well as of the District of Coimbra and the Baixo Mondego subregion. Like most university cities, Coimbra is home to many students from elsewhere, including thousands of international students. Coimbra is one of the most important urban centers of Portugal after the much larger Lisbon Metropolitan Area and Porto Metropolitan Area. Coimbra plays a role as the chief urban centre of the central part of the country. The city contains important archeological remains of structures dating from the time when it was the Roman town of Aeminium, such as its well-preserved aqueduct and cryptoporticus, as well as from the period when it served as the capital of Portugal (from 1139 to about 1260). In the Late Middle-Ages, declining as the political centre of the Kingdom of Portugal, Coimbra began to evolve into a major cultural centre with the foundation of the University of Coimbra in 1290. Explore the courses
As many as 15 Limburg cycling municipalities are involved in some way or other in the UCI Road World Championships. The finish of the road races is located just beyond the summit of Cauberg Hill in Valkenburg. The start of the time trials and road races will involve the following municipalities: Sittard-Geleen, Eijsden-Margraten, Landgraaf, Heerlen and Maastricht. The UCI Road World Championships will last eight days, two times longer than customary. By spreading the World Championships over a longer period, the UCI and the Limburg Region wish to focus greater attention on recreational sport and young people. Partly thanks to the fantastic cooperation, the World Championships is giving the entire region a sense of pride. That cooperation is also resulting in varied and challenging courses.

Melvin The Magical Mixed Media Machine
Melvin the Magical Mixed Media Machine (or just Melvin the Machine) can be described as a Rube Goldberg machine with a twist. Besides doing what Rube Goldberg's do best - performing a simple task as inefficiently as possible, often in the form of a chain reaction - Melvin has an identity. Actually, the only purpose of this machine is promoting its own identity.
Melvin takes pictures and makes video's of his audience which he instantly uploads to his website, facebook and twitter account. Besides that he makes his own merchandise. All of this within 4 minutes of craziness which you just have to witness yourself.

II - ninguém será obrigado a fazer ou deixar de fazer alguma coisa senão em virtude de lei;

Venice Backstage. How does Venice work?
Venice is not just a stage set. It is also a city with a resident population, which has productive activities, transportation and services. But how does the “Venice system” work? How do the tides in the lagoon behave? How are the canals formed? And the embankments? What’s under the buildings?
Directed by Nicolò Scibilia (www.teodolinda.it). Motion graphics: pholpo. Produced by Insula spa, operational division of Venice Municipality.
