AD/BC is a parody rock opera with music by Matt Berry and lyrics by Matt Berry and Richard Ayoade. It aired on BBC Three in 2004.
The opera is a pastiche of the life-of-Christ rock operas popular in the early 1970s, such as Jesus Christ Superstar and Godspell. Sitting at a piano in the late 70s (1978, several years past the time when Jesus-themed rock operas had been popular), writer Tim Wynde (Matt Berry) introduces his creation as a new telling, "told in rock", of the birth of Christ, this time from the point of view of the Innkeeper.

The main character, James Aramyan is taken to hospital after a car accident. Realizing his nearest decease the doctors transplant his brain into a patient of other nationality.
James’ soul is not accepted to Heaven. Archangels Gabriel and Michael argue about the incomprehensible status and “imperfection” of the corpse and send him back. Aramyan’s soul is present in the funeral procession of its body and inspired by this tries to enter Celestial Kingdom again. Farcical and tragicomic scenes follow one after another and he stays at the intersection of heaven and earth - complaining about his wandering destiny.
Another tragedy evolves on earth: Harold with his new brain periodically expresses “insane” ideas about “a genocide”, about his emigrant family and ends up rejected from his beloved and the society.
Both sufferers, who are victims super-science outdoing everything, start spontaneous actions between heaven and earth, consequently provoking a conflict between saints.
The alternation of these curious developments gives birth to the “promised flood” in view of mankind sins becoming impermissible, blasphemous tendencies of science and inhumane perversion. The rain aimed for the destruction of humanity actually serves for forgiveness and purification.

“Wandering” depicts the curious tragedy of a historical injustice victim, a man living in Diaspora.
Christianity, immortality of soul, human sins and trespasses, historical injustices, love and purification - these topics are the ideological basis of the film. “Wandering” belongs to the farcical and tragicomic genre and is exceptional in its style.

Rock opera
A rock opera is a work of rock music that presents a storyline told over multiple parts, songs or sections; however, it is not an opera. A rock opera differs from a conventional rock album, which usually includes songs that are not unified by a common theme or narrative. More recent developments include metal opera, punk rock opera, and rap opera (sometimes also called hip-hopera). In Russia, rock opera may be known as zong-opera (Зонг-опера).
A rock opera tells a coherent story, and may involve songs performed as if sung by separate characters in a drama, as in classical opera. A rock opera may or may not be presented in a staged performance. In recorded form it is a type of concept album, though the latter may simply set a mood or maintain a theme.
History
In an early use of the term, the July 4, 1966, edition of RPM Magazine (published in Toronto) wrote, "Bruce Cockburn and Mr [William] Hawkins are working on a Rock Opera, operating on the premise that to write you need only 'something to say'."

Alexander the Great
Alexander III of Macedon (20/21 July 356 BC – 10/11 June 323 BC), commonly known as Alexander the Great (Greek: Ἀλέξανδρος ὁ Μέγας, Aléxandros ho Mégas [a.lék.san.dros ho mé.gas], from the Greek ἀλέξω (alexō) "defend" and ἀνδρ- (andr-), the stem of ἀνήρ (anēr) "man" and means "protector of men"), was a King (Basileus) of the Ancient Greek kingdom of Macedon and a member of the Argead dynasty, an ancient Greek royal house. Born in Pella in 356 BC, Alexander succeeded his father, Philip II, to the throne at the age of twenty. He spent most of his ruling years on an unprecedented military campaign through Asia and northeast Africa, and by the age of thirty he had created one of the largest empires of the ancient world, stretching from Greece to Egypt into northwest India and modern-day Pakistan. He was undefeated in battle and is widely considered one of history's most successful military commanders.
During his youth, Alexander was tutored by the philosopher Aristotle until the age of 16. After Philip's assassination in 336 BC, Alexander succeeded his father to the throne and inherited a strong kingdom and an experienced army. Alexander was awarded the generalship of Greece and used this authority to launch his father's Panhellenic project to lead the Greeks in the conquest of Persia. In 334 BC, he invaded the Achaemenid Empire, ruled Asia Minor, and began a series of campaigns that lasted ten years. Alexander broke the power of Persia in a series of decisive battles, most notably the battles of Issus and Gaugamela. He subsequently overthrew the Persian King Darius III and conquered the Achaemenid Empire in its entirety. At that point, his empire stretched from the Adriatic Sea to the Indus River.

The opera is a pastiche of the life-of-Christ rock operas popular in the early 1970s, such as Jesus Christ Superstar and Godspell. Sitting at a piano in the late 70s (1978, several years past the time when Jesus-themed rock operas had been popular), writer Tim Wynde (Matt Berry) introduces his creation as a new telling, "told in rock", of the birth of Christ, this time from the point of view of the Innkeeper.

Both sufferers, who are victims super-science outdoing everything, start spontaneous actions between heaven and earth, consequently provoking a conflict between saints.
The alternation of these curious developments gives birth to the “promised flood” in view of mankind sins becoming impermissible, blasphemous tendencies of science and inhumane perversion. The rain aimed for the destruction of humanity actually serves for forgiveness and purification.

In 1983, in the latest years of the communist regime, a recent play was put on in Budapest's greatest park. The music (Levente Szörényi) and the writing (János Bródy) has been over the years a little part of the hungarian nation's sense. There is a song for freedom, song about, what the freedom is, what can be a route of fate of a thousand-years old land and his nation with God and with ourselves alone. The rock opera was based on true historical events. In 997, the hungarian grand prince, Stephen defeated Koppány, the leader of the transdanubian pagan rebels. Stephen was the founder of the hungarian state, one of the apostles of christianity and the builder of christian european culture in Hungary.

There is a song for freedom, song about, what the freedom is, what can be a route of fate of a thousand-years old land and his nation with God and with ourselves alone.
The rock opera was based on true historical events. In 997, the hungarian grand prince, Stephen defeated Koppány, the leader of the transdanubian pagan rebels. Stephen was the founder of the hungarian state, one of the apostles of christianity and the builder of christian european culture in Hungary.
