The song was a U.S. number-one hit instrumental for Percy Faith in 1960 and was the best-selling single of the year. It reached No. 2 in the UK. Faith re-recorded the song twice; first in 1969 as a female choral version, then in 1976 as a disco version titled "Summer Place 76". Percy Faith's version was not the one in the movie, which was recorded by Hugo Winterhalter. The song was the title cut of Billy Vaughn's 1960 No. 1 LP. The song was well-accepted by R&B; audiences of the day, reaching No. 2 in the Billboard R&B; singles chart.

• Audrey Hepburn and Henry Mancini:
--- "Two for the Road" OST Booklet Notes:
Something special happens when Henry Mancini does a musical score for a movie starring Audrey Hepburn. The fact is Miss Hepburn seems to be Mancini's good-luck charm. It all began with "Breakfast at Tiffany's" for which he won two Oscars - one for Best Original Score, the other for Moon River as the Best Song. Their next encounter was the intriguingly delightful "Charade". Mancini's song Charade gave him the Motion Picture Academy's nomination for the Best Song of 1963. And now the charm of Audrey Hepburn, co-starring with Albert Finney, in "Two for the Road" has once again inspired Henry Mancini to enticing melodies for another brilliant and perceptive score.
Recorded in RCA Victor's Music
Center of the world,
Hollywood, California, 1967
--- Henry Mancini's notes from the "Music from the Films of Audrey Hepburn" CD booklet:
I have had great pleasure in listening to the music of my colleagues on this CD. The emotional range is quite extensive. Judging from the list of film titles included in this collection, it seems my friend Audrey Hepburn brought out the best in the people she worked with. I can, of course, speak only for myself, but I am sure that all of the composers drew great inspiration from her presence.
In the case of "Moon River" from "Breakfast at Tiffany's" it is very difficult to imagine that I would have written that melody and Johnny Mercer those lyrics had Audrey not been involved. I have never been more inspired by an image on the screen. Blake Edwards directed and George Axelrod wrote the screenplay from Truman Capote's novella. "Moon River" was written for Audrey. No one else has ever understood it so completely. There have been more than a thousand versions of "Moon River", but hers is unquestionably the definitive one. When we previewed the film, the head of Paramount was there and said, "One thing for sure. That f--g song's gotta go." Audrey shot right up out of her chair. Mel Ferrer had to put his hand on her arm to restrain her. That's the closest I have ever seen her come to losing control.
Our next film together was "Charade" in 1963. Stanley Donen directed Peter Stone's screenplay. There is a scene in the movie where Audrey returns from a happy winter holiday to her Paris flat to find it stripped of everytrhing of value. Bare floors and the walls are all that remain. Her loutish husband had absconded with sll of her worldly goods. She enters the dimly-lit apartment with her suitcase and surveys the scene. Her feelings are of sadness, loneliness and vulnerability. To me, it translated into a sad little Parisian waltz. With that image of Audrey in my mind, I went to the piano and within less than an hour "Charade" was written. I played it for Audrey and Stanley. Both felt it was just right for the movie. Johnny Mercer added his poetry, and the song was nominated for an Oscar that year.
"Charade" was followed in 1967 by "Two for the Road", another Stanley Donen film, this time with screenplay by Frederic Raphael. To illustrate the graciousness of the lady, the following is a telegram she sent to me:
Dearest Hank: Please won't you do the music for "Two for the Road", the Stanley Donen picture I am now doing with Albert Finney? It is the best script I have ever had, wonderfully tender, funny and romantic. Can't imagine anyone else but you scoring. I am at Hotel La Pinede Saint Tropez, France. All my love to you both. Audrey.
Of course I accepted. Leslie Bricusse added lyrics to the theme. The song is my personal favourite among the music I have written for films.
"Wait Until Dark", directed later that same year by Terence Young, was a complete turn-about for Audrey the actress. She portrayed a young blind lady, ruthlessly harassed by an evil character played by Alan Arkin. It was a highly-charged dramatic film. I greatly relished this chance to take leave of the "romantic comedy" genre for a while. The picture was highly praised, especially Audrey's role which won her an Academy Award nomination.
I have come to feel that Audrey was my good luck charm. Because of her I approached each of these films as being something special. The music I wrote for her "had" to be my best. She deserved no less.

Henry Mancini - Nadia's Theme
FINALLY A DOWNLOAD LINK! -
http://www.mediafire.com/?gixznokjm4x
The melody, originally titled "Cotton's Dream", was written by De Vorzon and Botkin as incidental music for the 1971 theatrical film Bless the Beasts and Children. Two years later, Botkin wrote a rearranged version of the piece for The Young and the Restless; the show debuted on March 26, 1973. The melody was later renamed "Nadia's Theme" after the ABC television network Wide World Of Sports lent the music for a montage of Romanian gymnast Nadia Comaneci's routines during the 1976 Summer Olympics [1] ; but Nadia never performed her routines using this piece of music. Instead, she used a piano arrangement of a medley of the songs "Yes Sir, That's My Baby" and "Jump in the Line" for their floor exercises.
About one month after the 1976 Olympics, the song was released as a single by A&M; Records, with its B-side containing an instrumental of De Vorzon's song "Down the Line". It soared up to number 8 on the Billboard Music Charts by December of 1976, in part because of its association with Comaneci. However, A&M; Records failed to credit De Vorzon as the co-writer on the first pressings of the single; he successfully sued the record label for $241,000 USD. The single has never been released on CD.
Other versions of "Nadia's Theme" have been recorded, including a semi-rock version by The Ventures, an easy listening version by Ray Conniff, and David Hasselhoff's rendition for his 1987 album Lovin' Feelings.
A sample of "Nadia's Theme" is the musical accompaniment to the verses of Mary J. Blige's single "No More Drama" from her album with the same name. In the tune, Blige's persona describes her former self as "young and restless". It was also sampled in the Krayzie Bone song "We Starvin" from his album Thug Mentality 1999, and Three 6 Mafia's song Tear Da Club Up '97 from their album Chapter 2: World Domination.

It was with great anticipation that I began viewing
the videos by Professor Howdy on YouTube and
his two Blogs!
The Professor is simply amazing at retelling an
old story in a contemporary manner with exquisite
Classical Music accompanied with H.D. Photographs
& sprinkled with alluring, charming, classy and
bewitching Video Clips! Rather than containing
simply one music selection, the Professor includes
up to four popular music sensations on each 15
minute video!
The High Definition photographs were beautiful
beyond words and supplemented with those was
the most heavenly music one will ever hear! With
a creative genius' ability to carry us around the
globe and to fall unrestrainedly in love with every
beautiful creature shown, the Professor lifts &
relaxes not only our spirits but our emotions as
well - This is penned by a spurious punster!
One may ask why so many beautiful women
are incapsulated into each video but these
are about love & the celebration of pure
romance which safeguards coitus until after
the marriage vows - Something Hollywood
and most media despise! But for the fortunate
few, an intriguing, riveting & spellbinding
pilgrimage of love with one partner may be
actualized for a lifetime! Then & only then
does the Honeymoon become invigorating,
truly electrifying, sensational, riveting
& mesmerizing!
Each viewer may substitute his or herself
into these video stories and become part
of the rapturous novels. The male viewer
becomes the romancer of the beauty within
the ratiocination story while the female viewer
becomes the romanced interminably!
Now with some 600+ videos available, one can
enter the 3D world of musical enchantment similar
to Narnia or Middle Earth with spell bounding
emotional attachment to each world musically
presented. Of special note while viewing each
musical video, it is often nearly impossible at times
to determine whether a photograph or video is
being used during a particular segment.
Each pulchritudinous video tells it own allegorical
fifteen minute novel with statuesque and emblematic
awareness! Remember that his Music Videos are
defined as theater of the mind!
Part of the Genius also in these opulent & ostentatious
videos are not only in the Transitions that change
beautifully in slow motion but the charmingly, daintily,
delicately & delightful photographs & videos that
ameliorate the musical narrative!
Only one with low intelligence quotient or attention
deficit will not be relaxed, cheered & entertained by
these astounding video novelettes. Medical studies
have shown that these videos even lower one's
blood pressure when needed.
This magic world may be entered through the
portholes of the Wardrobe, Narnia, YouTube,
FaceBook or the Professor's Blogs! Enjoy the
musical adventure (and be sure to click the
proper buttons below the screen to view with
your computer's full screen & 1080p High
Definition). Oh, and his Videos when viewed
on Apple's mind-blowing iPad are simply
astounding!
