Plot
Magpie is a British independent film about an absent young father who returns to town in order to attend his 9 year old son's funeral. His glaring failure as a parent makes his presence an unwelcome one, especially with the boy's mother who struggles with her loss and the lack control she has over the funeral arrangements. After drunkenly stealing the coffin both parents find themselves on the road with two friends. What follows is a journey with no destination... just a desperate desire not to return.

A killer comedy.
An affair to dismember.
Some families have all the fun.
Gomez Addams: To be, or not to be? NOT to be... THAT is the ANSWER!
Morticia Addams: [an explosion is heard from the kitchen] Did you leave a cake in the oven, Mama?::Grandmama Addams: It's that woman again! That's my kitchen, not an airport!
Morticia Addams: [singing] Christmas and Easter bring wonderful treasures/spirits and pumpkins bring far greater pleasures.
Uncle Fester: We get the strangest people in here.
First Cop: Sorry folks, but the neighbors complained about the noise.::Morticia Addams: But this is a holiday, and a very special holiday for the Addams family, everyone here is a relative.::Uncle Fester: [brings in the crooks] I'm sorry you're mistaken, Morticia, these two aren't.::First Cop: Well... Bones Lafferty, and Louie the Lard?::Gomez Addams: You must be mistaken officer, these people are family. [Fester shakes his head]::Boss Crook: No, we - we just said that... we're not members of this family. They've got a lion, a lion! In the basement, and a lady flew out the window!::Little Bo Peep: That was no lady, it was a pterodactyl.
Fake Gomez: [Fester has him on the rack, mistaking him for Gomez] I'm just a guest here, take off my mask and you'll see.::Uncle Fester: An imposter! That's the first mistake I ever made on the rack, if I stretched you out, I could see about having you shortened. And if your socks are stretched, I'll be very happy to knit you a new pair.
[repeated line]::Uncle Fester: Don't step on Kitty Kat's tail!
Uncle Fester: Don't step on Kitty Kat's tail.::Mikey: Do I look like the kind of guy who'd step on Kitty Kat's tail? [leaves, Kitty Kat roars and Mikey returns terrified and his clothes torn]::Uncle Fester: You stepped on Kitty Kat's tail.
Mother Frump: [to the relatives in the graveyard] I want to apologize to you all, I almost gave up the old broom and fly recipe. I was wrong, I forgot the old family motto, "Never say die!" [buried relatives applaud] Thank you, well, back to the drawing board.
Morticia Addams: This is Mr. Grim, show him the house.::Grandmama Addams: He's in it.
Uncle Fester, or Fester Addams, is a member of the fictional Addams Family and the antagonist of the crossover films. He was played by Jackie Coogan in the original television series, by Christopher Lloyd in the first two feature films, and by Patrick Thomas in the third, Addams Family Reunion. Finally, Michael Roberds played Fester in The New Addams Family. In the Broadway musical, the part was originated by Kevin Chamberlin, with Brad Oscar taking over on March 8, 2011.
Uncle Fester is a particularly shy man when it comes to seeing someone he likes and he is a completely hairless, hunched, and barrel-shaped man with dark, sunken eyes and often a deranged smile. He always wears a heavy, full-length fur coat. Fester was derived from a character drawn by cartoonist Charles Addams, although these were single page cartoons, with no stories or character names. Nevertheless, the character is recognizable in a number of cartoons, both by his appearance (bald, stooping, sunken eyes) and behavior (e.g. turning the shower to a special "scalding" setting, feeding his garden plants on blood plasma, or releasing an eagle on the neighbor's homing pigeons). However, he is almost never seen in the same cartoons with the rest of the family, even for family celebrations like pouring boiling oil on carol singers (though he was in one cartoon with the two children—going fishing with dynamite). It may be that he was introduced to the family at the time of the sitcom for dramatic convenience. It is known that the name "Fester" was chosen by Addams for the sitcom.
