Serial Bomb Blast in Hyderabad DilsukhNagar TODAY @7PM(21\02\13) - MUST WATCH
youtu.be Two explosions have killed 12 people in the southern Indian city of Hyderabad, in what Prime Minister Manmohan Singh labelled as a "dastardly attack". The blasts that hit the city in Andhra Pradesh were 10 minutes apart, police said. Television images showed casualties being rushed to hspital. India's home minister said bombs had been planted on bicycles 150m (500ft) apart near a crowded fruit market. Major cities have been put on alert as police probe the cause for the blasts. "The number of dead has increased to 12 and the injured are 57," Home Secretary RK Singh said after a high-level security meeting following the attacks. Unconfirmed reports suggest the number of casualties may rise. The explosions hit just after 19:00 (13:30 GMT) within a radius of 150 metres, Home Minister Sushil Shinde said. There was a possible third blast reported shortly afterwards, Hyderabad police told the BBC. Appeal for calm No group has so far said it carried out the attack. Authorities had received intelligence about possible attacks in the country but no specific information as to where or when they might occur, Mr Shinde said. The information had been passed on to the states, he added. Indian authorities had been informed about possible attacks, but did not know when or where they might occur Prime Minister Singh has urged the public to remain calm. "The guilty will not go unpunished," he tweeted. He has directed federal agencies to extend all possible help to the state ...

UK Home Secretary John Reid heckled by Islamist
The home secretary, John Reid, was today heckled by protesters as he made a speech in east London urging Muslim parents to monitor their children. The first interruption came from Abu Izadeen, who shouted that Muslims were being subjected to "state terrorism by the British police". His intervention came as Mr Reid asked Muslim parents to keep a close watch on their children to prevent them from being radicalised by Islamist extremists. Mr Izadeen, who accused the home secretary of being an "enemy" of Islam, is said to be a former member of the banned Islamist group al-Ghurabaa, a successor organization to Omar Bakri Mohammed's al-Muhajiroun group. He denies membership of the group. He was led from the building by police and stewards.

'UFO hacker' McKinnon left in limbo as US extradition looms
He claims he was just looking for UFO's, but could now face 60 years in a US prison. For almost a decade Washington has been demanding the extradition of the autistic UK hacker Gary McKinnon under a treaty designed to get hold of terrorists. A final decision's expected on Tuesday, but as Laura Smith reports, London could still step in. Afzal Guru Hanged Outside His Cell In Delhi's Tihar Jail
New Delhi: Three months after 26/11 attack convict Mohammed Ajmal Amir Kasab's execution, Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru was hanged in a top-secret operation on Saturday morning. The Jaish-e-Mohammad terrorist has been buried inside the jail itself, according to a prison official. Afzal Guru, who was convicted of plotting the 2001 terror attack on the Indian Parliament, was hanged at 8 am inside Delhi's Tihar Jail, confirmed Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde and Home Secretary RK Singh. The Parliament attack convict was hanged about 20 metres away from special security jail number 3 where he was lodged since 2001, jail's director general Vimla Mehra told a news agency. Meanwhile, curfew has been imposed around Tihar Jail and in several parts of Kashmir. All the police stations in New Delhi were put on high alert, police sources said. Speaking to reporters, Singh said the situation isn't sensitive anywhere "but we have taken precautions regarding security". Earlier, Rashtrapati Bhavan spokesperson Venu Rajamony had confirmed that the mercy plea of the Jaish-e-Mohammad terrorist was rejected by President Pranab Mukherjee a few days ago, paving the way for his hanging. According to Singh, the President rejected Afzal Guru's mercy petition on February 03..."We moved accordingly then".

BBC The Great Offices of State: 2. Palace of Dreams
©BBC UK Three-part series in which award-winning reporter Michael Cockerell uncovers the secret world of Whitehall, showing what the trio of great offices - Home, Foreign and Treasury - are really like. The Foreign Office is the grandest of the three, built in Victorian times to impress foreigners when the British lion still strutted the globe. How the Foreign Office has sought over the years to come to terms with Britain's reduced status in the world makes an often tragicomic tale. Cockerell blends fresh access filming, rare and previously unseen archive and interviews with past and present foreign secretaries and their normally camera-shy senior officials. The film tells of the many behind-the-scenes battles in the FO between its mandarins and ministers and against 10 Downing Street. Successive prime ministers have regarded the Foreign Office as temperamentally inclined to kow-tow to foreigners and have sought to be their own foreign secretaries - often with disastrous consequences. The film also explores the always-uneasy relationship between the FO and its offshoot, Britain's spy agency, MI6.

The actor slammed Islamabad's concern over his security in India and advised that they should read the article first before giving suggestions. The Indian superstar, at a press conference, said that he is proud to be an Indian citizen and his article has nothing to do with the ongoing Indo-Pak issue. He revealed that his article titled 'Being a Khan' was being misquoted. "I implore you all that please read the article. Nowhere does it say that I feel unsafe in my country," he said. "I wrote this article to state how Muslim artists are sometimes troubled by narrow-minded people. But the same thing seems to have happened again," he said at a press conference in Mumbai. "There have been occasions when I have been accused of bearing allegiance to our neighbouring nation rather than my own country -- this even though I am an Indian, whose father fought for the freedom of India. Rallies have been held where leaders have exhorted me to leave and return what they refer to my original homeland," he added. Shahrukh Khan is one of the most famous men in India. As a ...

Send your messages of support to Gary and his mother on Twitter @JanisSharp #freegary Lyrics: Dear Alan Johnson, We're against the extradition of Gary McKinnon - not letting it happen to him. He's a valuable Briton, a man with a gift, and we're standing around while they're banishing him? There's the evidence, where's the terrorist? Is America pissed 'cause he damaged their image? It's hardly the baddest of sins is it? Admit it. Grab a pen, hand me the petition to stick the extradition act in the bin. I'm not having that - take a fragile man from his habitat. As a matter of fact, such a talented hacker should have a salary at NASA. But no salary, just a cell; I really think justice just as well'd be served up in Great Britain, where McKinnon can be with his family. But apparently a British citizen isn't considered innocent if Uncle Sam disagrees. Well Dan disagrees - I'm demanding Gary's release. Put your hands up and be counted 'cause we are demanding Gary's release. Free, free Gary McKinnon. Free, free Gary McKinnon. Look: I see Gmail peeping at my e-mail, but I doubt they're going to see jail. If we let them take him, we've failed - the train to justice derailed. Doesn ...

The Oxford Guild presents Michael Howard, Theo Paphitis, Victor Blank and Peter de Savary
Theo Paphitis, Lord Howard, Sir Victor Blank and Peter de Savary speak to the Oxford Guild Business Society in the chamber of the Oxford Union in February 2013. The event was a unique panel discussion with four of the highest profile figures in British business and politics, each of whom has had a very different path to success, encompassing a diverse range of fields. This was an unprecedented opportunity to hear from and ask questions of such figures all at the same time. More details about the speakers are below: Theo Paphitis is a multi-millionaire British entrepreneur of Greek Cypriot origin who made the majority of his fortune in the retail sector, and is best known to the general public for his appearances on the BBC show, 'Dragons' Den', as former chairman of Millwall Football Club and for reviving the fortunes of such notable retail brands as Ryman, La Senza and Robert Dyas. Michael Howard, Baron Howard of Lympne, is a British politician, who served as the Leader of the Conservative Party and Leader of the Opposition from November 2003 to December 2005. PM: Tories Won't Lurch To The Right
PM: Tories Won't Lurch To The Right David Cameron has promised not to "lurch to the right" in the wake of the Conservatives' humiliation in the Eastleigh by-election. But at the same time, policies aimed firmly at the right-wing vote were being briefed out to Sunday newspapers. As the Prime Minister pledged to "stick to the course we are on," the Sunday Times reported a crackdown on NHS treatment for migrants (£) and the Mail on Sunday announced plans to withdraw from the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR). Sadiq Khan, Labour's shadow justice secretary, said the Tories were "at sixes and sevens" over their direction. He added: "Not even Margaret Thatcher tried to remove us from the ECHR." Home Secretary Theresa May and Justice Secretary Chris Grayling are said to have decided to withdraw from the ECHR, which is enshrined in the UK by the Human Rights Act. In comments that will anger the Liberal Democrats - who are committed to retaining the Human Rights Act, Grayling said: "I cannot conceive of a situation where we could put forward a serious reform without scrapping Labour's Human Rights Act and starting again." Lib Dem president president Tim Farron told the BBC's Andrew Marr programme the Tories "must be tempted by us" to stay on the centre ground. Describing his party's victory at Eastleigh as a "game changer", Farron added that "it would be a very foolish thing for the Conservative party to lurch to the right". Cameron has come under renewed pressure from the ...

Snoop Dogg LOVES Hot Pockets, 'Carrie' Teaser Trailer
On today's Brief hacker Gary McKinnon wins his extradition hearing, Snoop Dogg makes a new video for Hot Pockets and we get our first look at Chloe Grace Moretz as Carrie. First up, British hacker Gary McKinnon's decade-long battle against extradition to the US for hacking into military computers finally came to an end this week. Home Secretary Theresa May announced that she would block McKinnon's extradition. Part of the reason the notorious hacker's been given a break is that he suffers from Asperger's Syndrome which caused him to become obsessed with alien spaceships. Using commercially available software, McKinnon committed what US authorities called the "biggest military computer hack of all time", gaining access to several machines that were lacking in security. Oh, and he did all this right around the time everyone was freaking out over 9/11. What do you guys think - is protecting McKinnon from a 60-year US prison sentence the right call? bit.ly Next up, besides rebranding himself as reggae star Snoop Lion, Long Beach rapper Snoop Dogg has also been busy adapting his music to sell Hot Pockets. You know, those cheesy, microwavable pizza bombs... Anyways, Snoop re-purposed his 2004 single Drop it Like it's Hot into an ad campaign for the foodstuff called Pocket Like it's Hot. The new song and video features DeStorm Power, comedian Andy Milonakis and Brodus Clay. It's a little weird seeing a hardcore rapper shilling for Hot Pockets but given Snoop's predilection for ...
