Her career as a journalist began in 1999 when she was associated with Jason Calacanis's ''Silicon Alley Reporter'', first as a contributing editor, and later as Vice President of ''Silicon Alley'''s parent company, Rising Tide Studios. In 2001 she became a freelance writer for ''Wired'' and other magazines, and in 2002 she began contributing to Boing Boing after Mark Frauenfelder met her at a party and invited her to be a co-editor. Jardin has also written op-ed pieces for the New York Times and the ''Los Angeles Times''. She has also been the main source of an article in ''The Age'' talking about the cultural relevance of Wikipedia articles, and the source for a ''New York Times'' article discussing Boing Boing's part in the creation of the Flying Spaghetti Monster internet meme.
Jardin is also involved in television and radio work. In 2003, she began contributing the "Xeni Tech" segment for NPR's show ''Day to Day'', and has appeared as a guest on the ''NewsHour with Jim Lehrer'' to discuss the ''Washington Post'''s decision to remove their comments section (a step Boing Boing had also taken). She has also made appearances on CNN, Fox News, MSNBC and ''ABC World News Tonight''. and featured on the BBC Radio 5 show ''Pods and Blogs'' discussing her work at Boing Boing.
Her work at Boing Boing has provoked some critical response. In March 2005, Jesse Andrews created a script for GreaseMonkey that filters out Boing Boing posts by Jardin. In March 2006, Matthew N. Sharp created XeniSucks.com, which criticizes and parodies Jardin's posts on Boing Boing. Jardin posted a link to the site on Boing Boing and described it as "a total hoot" (the link is now removed). A June 2008 controversy over Jardin's deletion from public view all posts and links associated with sex blogger Violet Blue in the wake of a falling-out led to discussions about journalism ethics and standards and media transparency.

Peter Szymon Serafinowicz (; born 10 July 1972) is an English actor, comedian, writer, composer, voice artist and occasional director.
In 1999 he made a number of appearances in Channel 4 sitcom ''Spaced'', playing principal character Tim Bisley's (Simon Pegg) arch-nemesis, Duane Benzie. He made another appearance in the series when it returned in 2001. In 2001 Serafinowicz took the lead in BBC2 sitcom ''World of Pub'', playing the same character as he had done in the show's run on Radio 4. He was also in ''The Junkies'', the world's first Internet sitcom. In 2002 the critically acclaimed ''Look Around You'', a series of 10-minute 70s school science video spoofs, debuted on BBC2 in which Serafinowicz played a scientist. He co-wrote the show alongside Robert Popper, whom he met on the set of ''Spaced''. The show returned in 2005 as a spoof of the 1980s show ''Tomorrow's World'', with Serafinowicz playing Peter Packard, one of the presenters.
In 2003 he appeared in another Nye-written sitcom, ''Hardware'', in which he played the affable Kenny. He reprised this role in the second series in 2004. Also in 2004 he appeared in British rom-zom-com (romantic-zombie-comedy) ''Shaun of the Dead'', playing Pete, the tidy flatmate of principal characters Shaun and Ed. He also appeared in boxing movie ''The Calcium Kid''. In ''Sixty Six'', the 2006 British film about a Jewish boy whose Bar Mitzvah is scheduled for the same day as the 1966 World Cup final, Serafinowicz plays Uncle Jimmy. In the week before the 2006 Academy Awards a video circulated on the Internet of a fake news item (called "O! News", a parody of E! News) about a new Oscar statue, in which Serafinowicz imitated Alan Alda, Paul McCartney and Al Pacino. A second O! News video later appeared, parodying the 2006 Apple Corps v. Apple Computer lawsuit. This attracted the interest of the BBC, and a pilot was commissioned for ''The Peter Serafinowicz Show''. A full series was broadcast on BBC Two in 2007 (with a Christmas Special in 2008). For his performance, Serafinowicz was presented with the Best Entertainer prize at the 2008 Rose d'Or ceremony. The series was also nominated for Best Comedy Programme at the 2009 BAFTA Television Awards.
Serafinowicz had also made a number of guest appearances on television, including the comedy shows ''Smack the Pony'' and ''Hippies'' (both 1999), ''Black Books'' (2000), ''I'm Alan Partridge'' (2002) and ''Little Britain'' (2003), comedy drama ''Murder Most Horrid'' (1999) and ITV Drama series ''Marple'' (2005). He has made a number of guest appearances on both television and radio panel shows. He regularly appeared on ''The 99p Challenge'' and appeared on ''Have I Got News For You'' in 2005, 2006 and 2008 ''8 Out of 10 Cats'' in 2005, and ''QI'' in 2003. He also appeared on ''Friday Night with Jonathan Ross'' on 19 October 2007, ''Would I Lie To You?'' on 8 August 2008 and 30 July 2010, and ''Never Mind the Buzzcocks'' on 15 October 2009.
In 2008, Serafinowicz was working with Robert Popper on a new television series, as well as a website, based on a spoof religion "Tarvuism" for US network Adult Swim. In 2009, he appeared in Universal Films' ''Couples Retreat'', directed by Peter Billingsley.
In 2010 Serafinowicz directed the music video for Hot Chip's video ''I Feel Better'', their second single from the album One Life Stand.
It was announced early in 2010 that Serafinowicz would be playing Paul McCartney in the now-cancelled remake of the 1968 film ''Yellow Submarine''.
In 2010 Serafinowicz co-starred with Will Arnett in the FOX sitcom ''Running Wilde'', devised by ''Arrested Development'' creator Mitchell Hurwitz. It premiered on Fox on 21 September 2010, but was cancelled by the network after 13 episodes.
Serafinowicz pretended to be Terry Wogan in a 2003 Comic Relief spoof of ''Blankety Blank'', which led to Wogan inviting Serafinowicz on occasion to appear on Wogan's Radio 2 breakfast programme as a guest (including an appearance during the final week of Wake Up to Wogan) and showcase said Wogan impersonation; Serafinowicz regularly utilises his array of impressions when performing.
On the BBC quiz show ''Would I Lie To You?'', he revealed that he overdubbed the voice of Pelé in the English language version of his adverts to promote Viagra and raise the awareness of impotency.
His grandfather, Szymon Serafinowicz Sr., was the first person charged in the UK under the 1991 War Crimes Act, for alleged acts committed during the Second World War in his native Belarus. He was not convicted of any crime, as the jury ruled him unfit for trial on grounds of dementia.

The Mighty Boosh is a British comedy troupe featuring comedians Julian Barratt and Noel Fielding. Developed from three stage shows and a six episode radio series, it has since spawned a total of twenty television episodes for BBC Three and two live tours of the UK, as well as two live shows in the United States.
The Boosh produced three stage shows - ''The Mighty Boosh'' (1998), ''Arctic Boosh'' (1999) and ''Autoboosh'' (2000) - all of which were taken to the Edinburgh Fringe. With the success of ''Autoboosh'', a radio series was commissioned by the BBC. Produced by Danny Wallace, ''The Boosh'' was first broadcast in 2001 on BBC London Live, later transferring to BBC Radio 4, from which the team were given a half-hour television pilot of the same name.
The first eight-part series, directed by Paul King, was then commissioned for BBC Three and broadcast in 2004, with a second of six episodes the following year. The second series moved away from the zoo setting, and instead sees Howard, Vince, Naboo the shaman and Bollo the talking ape living in a flat in Dalston. In 2006, the Boosh returned to theatre with ''The Mighty Boosh Live'', which featured a new story entitled "The Ruby of Kukundu".
After two years away from television, the Boosh returned in November 2007. Set in Naboo’s second-hand shop below the flat, the third series drew approximately one million viewers with its first episode, and in light of its success, BBC Three broadcast an entire night of ''The Mighty Boosh'' on 22 March 2008, which included a new documentary and six of Barratt and Fielding's favourite episodes from all three series.
In 1998, they took ''The Mighty Boosh'' to the Edinburgh Festival, recruiting fellow comedian Rich Fulcher, whom the pair had met while working on Unnatural Acts. The show won the Perrier Award for Best Newcomer. During their residency at the Hen and Chickens Theatre in North London the following year, they built up a cult following, introducing new characters whilst developing old ones.
They made appearances throughout the UK after their live shows, at after-parties held in different places in each city. The events were called "Outrage", after the catchphrase by Tony Harrison.
On 15 November 2007, as part of the publicity for the premier of their third series the same day, Julian Barratt and Noel Fielding returned to Radio 1, this time on Jo Whiley's Live Lounge.
A second series was then shown in July 2005, which saw Howard and Vince now sharing Naboo's flat in Dalston with previously minor characters Naboo and his familiar, Bollo, who was a gorilla living at the "Zooniverse". This series had an even looser setting as the four characters leave the confines of the flat in every episode, using their van to travel to a variety of surrealistic environments, including Naboo's home planet "Xooberon".
Series three started in November 2007, still set in Dalston, but this time has the foursome working in their shop called the Nabootique selling 'Bits & Bobs'. Their adventures and outings in the third series focused more on the involvement of new characters (e.g. Sammy the Crab, or Lester Corncrake etc.) rather than just the two of them.
Although BBC America originally aired only series 1 in the U.S (all episodes in their entirety), The Mighty Boosh began airing in North America on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim block (with up to 6 minutes cut from each episode), starting 29 March 2009 with the third series.

According to an official MySpace page for PieFace Records (the fictitious music label mentioned throughout the series), Barratt and Fielding are to release an album of music from the show, "along with extras, versions, remixes and rare unreleased stuff all to be released later in the year on their own label - this one.". In interviews since, The Mighty Boosh have confirmed they will be releasing an album of their music. On 21 October episode of ''Never Mind the Buzzcocks'', Fielding stated that the Boosh have recorded an album, but don't know when it's going to be released.

Rachel Anne Maddow (; born April 1, 1973) is an American television host and political commentator. Her syndicated talk radio program, ''The Rachel Maddow Show'', aired on Air America Radio. Maddow hosts a nightly television show, ''The Rachel Maddow Show'', on MSNBC. She was a guest host of ''Countdown with Keith Olbermann'' and ''Race for the White House''. Maddow is the first openly gay anchor to host a prime-time news program in the United States.
Asked about her political views by the ''Valley Advocate'', Maddow replied, "I'm undoubtedly a liberal, which means that I'm in almost total agreement with the Eisenhower-era Republican party platform."
A graduate of Castro Valley High School in Castro Valley, California, Maddow earned a degree in public policy from Stanford University in 1994. At graduation she was awarded the John Gardner Fellowship. She was also the recipient of a Rhodes Scholarship and began her postgraduate study in 1995 at Lincoln College, Oxford. In 2001, she earned a Doctor of Philosophy (DPhil) in politics from Oxford University. Her thesis is titled ''HIV/AIDS and Health Care Reform in British and American Prisons'' (supervisor: Dr Lucia Zedner). She was the first openly gay American to win a Rhodes scholarship.
In April 2008, Maddow was the substitute host for ''Countdown with Keith Olbermann'', her first time hosting a program on MSNBC. Maddow described herself on air as "nervous." Keith Olbermann complimented her work and she was brought back to host "Countdown" in May 2008. The day she hosted was the highest rated news program among people 25 to 54 years of age, a demographic key to ratings. For her success, the next Monday Olbermann ranked Maddow third in his show's segment "World's Best Persons". Maddow filled in again on ''Countdown'' for eight and a half broadcasts while Olbermann was on vacation in July 2008 and the second half of the show on July 21. Maddow also filled in for David Gregory as host of ''Race for the White House''.
Early reviews for her show were mostly positive. ''Los Angeles Times'' writer Matea Gold stated Maddow "finds the right formula on MSNBC," and ''The Guardian'' writes Maddow has become the "star of America's cable news." ''Associated Press'' columnist David Bauder said she's "[Keith] Olbermann's political soul mate" and the Olbermann-Maddow shows are a "liberal two-hour block."
Distinguishing herself from others on the left, Maddow said she's a "national security liberal" and in a different interview that she's not "a partisan." ''The New York Times'' called her a "defense policy wonk" who is writing a book on the role of the military in postwar American politics. During the 2008 presidential election, Maddow did not formally support any candidate. Concerning Barack Obama's candidacy, Maddow said during the primaries, "I have never and still don't think of myself as an Obama supporter, either professionally or actually."
As of 2008 Maddow did not own a television set, but was committed to getting one so that Mikula can watch her show.
