Subscribe to our Channel. Its business as usual for Dave O'Donnell's show UCMMA 38, (Ultimate Challenge Mixed Martial Arts) on the 1st February. Another cracking show about to hit London town again this time with Alex Reid vs. Tony Giles where they battle it out to raise money for children with cancer, this is the Super Title Fight MW Uk1, Alex Reid agreed to do this interview for us for ahead of the show. S - London's premier show UCMMA38 is back with a difference this time with you Alex, what are you hoping for as you are the star fighter? Alex - This night is not about me, it's for children with cancer UK. I am looking forward to putting on a show for the crowd and for my fans and to raising money for this more than worthy cause. S - You've been out of the ring since December 2012 when you won against Sam Boo in a UD win in BAMMA 11, what have been doing to keep yourself in shape since then? Alex - To be honest, I have been really concentrating on doing positive things. I am launching ARMMA (Alex Reid Mixed Martial Arts) which is a complete lifestyle organisation offering services to get fit, train and also wear stylish and tasteful bespoke sportswear, and my anti-bullying campaign as well which I will taking on the road in 2014. I train everyday anyway as my body is my temple and my spiritual home. S - What new sponsors have you been working with? Alex - I have my core sponsors, Alan over at Grenade and Mark Sproston the Shave Doctor plus Alexi and Paul over at London Shoot. As far as new sponsors, if the right company came along that fitted my profile then I will happily talk. S - People still talk about UCMMA21 when you confronted Dave O'Donnell, can we expect any controversy for this show & which other celebrity friends are going to be supporting you cage side? Alex - Ha, not at all, this fight is about the children and I want to keep the emphasis on them. The fireworks will be inside the cage where I will be doing all my talking. S - Has there been any difficulty for the run up for this show, tell us how difficult it is to get prepared for one these events, what kind of things develop in the background, and who's been involved with you? Alex - As professional athletes we are all plagued with the usual niggles, but I feel as good as ever, refreshed and rejuvenated. Also as professional athletes we train all year so preparing for a fight is part of that anyway. Plus I have such a great team behind me, all the guys at London Shoot and Pete Mercer who all believe in me like I believe in myself. S - What went through your head when Tony Giles called you out? Alex - I was a little surprised actually, I cannot say that I would have taken the fight had it not have been for the fact it is for charity, but now I am ready and really looking forward to it. S - It's very good of you both to be donating everything to the Children's Fight for Cancer, how close are you to this cause? Alex - Look, as a father, I think it brings you so much closer to this. I want to really help with the awareness of this charity so that someday childhood cancer can be a thing of the past. I just want to do anything I can to help. S - A quick word to your fans & the people attending for UCMMA 38? Alex - Thank you all for paying your hard earned money to come and see me fight, I know that times are hard and it all costs money. I also just want to ask that everyone gets behind the charity on the night, whatever they can afford because even 20p makes a difference. S - Thank you Alex, good luck. Alex - You're welcome.

The personnel they ended up with were all musicially capable, although none had been in a big name band previously. King Crimson, a progressive rock band that started in England in the late 1960s. The original band only lasted just less than a year. Their unique sound, instrumentation (including mellotron), songs, singer, ... instantly made them recoginzable. While the original band only made one studio album before breaking up, That album is well worth checking out. And for the completist, the 4CD set, Epitaph, contains BBC radio performances as well as some partial shows, and some fairly complete shows. Proof that the sound they were creating in the studio, they were able to create on stage as well. Greg Lake, went on to join Emerson, Lake and Palmer, which became hughly successful. While Greg Lake did provide some vocals for the second King Crimson album In The Wake Of Poseidon, his decision to leave the band was made after discussions with Keith Emerson (of Nice) at their recent Fillmore West shows. Ian McDonald, went on to join Foreigner, which also became a major commercial success. Robert Fripp kept the name of King Crimson, and with a changing group of personnel and musical styles, continues to perform as King Crimson (as well as League of Gentlemen, League of Crafty Guitarists, Robert Fripp, ...)

Written, Directed and Produced by Ken McMullen. Produced by Alan Fountain (executive producer), Eckart Stein (executive producer). Original Music by David Cunningham, Michael Giles, Jamie Muir. Cinematography by Peter Harvey. Cinematography by Peter Harvey. Film Editing by Robert Hargreaves. Through the experiences of two women in Paris and London, Ghost Dance offers an analysis of the complexity of our conceptions of ghosts, memory and the past. It is an adventure film strongly influenced by the work of Rivette and Godard but with a unique intellectual and artistic discourse of its own. The film is permeated with phantoms, and also focuses on philosopher Jacques Derrida who considers ghosts to be the memory of something which has never been present. This theory is explored in the film. Ken McMullen (b. 31 August 1948, Manchester) is an award-winning film director and artist living currently in London. His feature films are distributed worldwide, his documentaries broadcast extensively and his art works exhibited in leading contemporary art galleries in Europe, The United States and the Far East. McMullen’s films are grounded in philosophy, history, psychoanalysis and literature. McMullen’s exhibition Signatures of the Invisible brought together artists and scientists working at CERN, the European particle physics facility near Geneva. His other work includes filming conversations with leading physicists at Stanford Linear Accelerator Centre, which he describes as “making a diary of the transition in human culture” because he believes physics is arriving at another shifting point. His latest work Arrows of Time is a radical new form of cinema consisting of 40 interchangeable elements that deal with literature, philosophy, and contemporary physics. These elements are combined in a different order for each showing. This work premiered at the Museum of Modern Art in San Francisco in April 2007. Ghost Dance is an experimental film by the British director Ken McMullen, is notable for its very leisurely pace, its occasional bizarre humor, its near-perfect opacity and the presence of two striking individuals: Jacques Derrida, the French linguistic philosopher, and Pascale Ogier, the late young actress whose doleful, mature face and mischievous manner held forth such great promise of a remarkable screen career. … Ogier and Leonie Mellinger, as the film’s two wandering heroines, appear in various bleak settings in London and Paris, while various quotations are delivered in voice-over and titles like “Myth: The Voice of Destruction, the Voice of Deliverance” divide the film into subsections — NY Times.

The Quietus 2014-05-23Michael Giles (born Michael Rex Giles, 1 March 1942, Waterlooville, Hampshire) is an English drummer, best known as a co-founder of King Crimson in 1969. Prior to the formation of Crimson, he also co-founded the short-lived Giles, Giles & Fripp with his brother, Peter, and Robert Fripp the previous year.
Giles' technique is complex and polyrhythmic, owing heavily to the jazz tradition, but grounding it in a rock context. Giles orchestrated much of the compositional structure of the first Crimson album In the Court of the Crimson King, and his ability to weave challenging yet seamless tempo changes and subtle melodic deviations into a piece is not only evident in the compositions, but also in his highly elaborate and skilled drumming. He was most notably the first rock drummer to use more than one bass drum, so that he could play faster beats using those drums.
Giles left King Crimson in December 1969, though he played as a session musician on the band's second album, In The Wake Of Poseidon. He joined Ian McDonald to record an album called McDonald and Giles, which was much lighter in style than King Crimson, but just as challenging musically. Giles then worked as a session musician for the duration of the 1970s, working with many popular artists including Leo Sayer, Steve Winwood, and Yvonne Elliman. A solo album, Progress, was recorded at his home studio in 1978, but wasn't released until 2003. He continues to work as a session musician; most recently he contributed to Ian McDonald's 1999 solo album Driver's Eyes.
