de Havilland DH98 Mosquito
More Mosquito footage, some good quality stuff. The de Havilland Mosquito was a British combat aircraft that excelled in a number of roles during the Second World War. It served with the RAF and many other air forces both in the Second World War and postwar. The Mosquito was powered by a pair of Rolls-Royce Merlins with the pilot and navigator sitting side by side. In the conceptual design stage, de Havilland designers found that adding any defensive armament would significantly reduce the aircraft's maximum speed. Realising that the loss in performance was not worth the benefit, the initial bomber version was designed without any guns. The various roles of the Mosquito included: tactical bomber, pathfinder, day or night fighter, fighter-bomber, intruder, maritime strike and photo reconnaissance aircraft. The de Havilland company conceived the idea of a wooden aircraft to take advantage of the underused resources and skills of the furniture industry at a time of great pressure on the conventional aircraft industry combined with wartime shortages of steel and aluminium. The Air Ministry was initially not interested in the innovative approach; de Havilland, under chief designer Ronald Bishop, developed the Mosquito on a speculative basis. The ministry became interested when they saw the Mosquito prototype's performance. Throughout the 1930s, de Havilland had established a reputation in developing innovative high-speed aircraft such as the DH.88 Comet mailplane and DH.91 ...

de Havilland Beaver Plane Crash at Lake Hood (HD)
This is a video of the deHavilland beaver plane crash at Lake Hood in Anchorage AK, on June 7, 2009. My father and I were videotaping planes at Lake Hood taking off and landing when the wind kicked up and sent the Beaver taking off right at us. The wing was less than 5 feet over our heads, and the radial engine was less than 8 feet to my left. No exaggeration!! The Slow motion at the end gives a little better look at how close it was. Everyone onboard was in pristine condition, 2 adults, 2 children and 2 dogs For those wondering what camcorder I use it is a Canon VIXIA HF20 If you have any questions or would like to work out a non-exclusive licence please message me over YouTube.

de Havilland Comet 4C for X-Plane: Approach & Landing in Mexico City
Preview of the DH-106 Comet for X-Plane on approach to Mexico City (MEX/MMMX). The Comet Series 4 was a very different aircraft from the original Series 1 of 1952: it was larger, twice as powerful, with better instruments and totally revised structure and materials. It inaugurated the World's first trans-atlantic jet service, and was in service from 1958-1980. The 4C was the last production derivative. It combined the long-range wingspan and fuel tanks of the original Comet 4 with the longer, high-capacity fuselage of the Comet 4B. Mexicana was the first customer for the Comet 4C and XA-NAR (c/n 6424) was the first aircraft to be delivered. Amazingly, this very aircraft exists in tact as the only complete Comet in North America, and is currently undergoing meticulous and painstaking restoration at the Museum of Flight in Seattle, under Bob Hood. With the Comet, Mexicana started their first jet airliner service, known as "Golden Aztec", between Mexico City, Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas, Havana and Kingston (Jamaica). They owned five aircraft: two ex-BOAC Comet 4, and three new Comet 4C. The service ran from 1960-1970 when the Comets were eventually replaced with Boeing 727s. At the time, Mexicana were part-owned by Pan-American. Pan-Am had placed their own orders for five Comet 3s, but, because of the concerns and delays of the Comet 1 inquiry, they switched the order to Boeing 707s. However, as a way of hedging their bets in case the 707 was late, the Mexicana Comet ...

De Havilland VAMPIRE & VENOM jet fighter, fighter-bomber aircraft
Video of de Havilland Vampire (DH.100) and Venom (DH.112) 1950s British jet fighter, fighter-bomber and trainer aircraft displaying in the south of England. The single seat de Havilland Vampire was the DH.100. However, two seat de Havilland (DH.115) Vampire T.11 trainer aircraft are shown in the video. Two seat Vampires and Venoms included trainer aircraft and radar equipped night fighters. Single-seat DH 112 Venom fighter / fighter-bomber aircraft feature in this video. The twin-boomed tail design is a feature of these classic de Havilland jets. The Venom can be distinguished by a swept leading edge to the wing and wing-tip fuel tanks. The de Havilland Vampires in this video include DH115 Vampire T11, G-DHAV in Swiss Air Force markings. The Venoms include the yellow and red Venom FB.1 G-GONE, Venom FB.1 (FB50) G-VENM (WK436) in the markings of 11 Squadron Royal Air Force and Venom FB.1 (FB50) G-DHVM (WR470) in 208 Squadron RAF colours.

de Havilland Mosquito RC Model
This is my third model of the CMP DeHavilland Mosquito. Well, it is my third wing and my second fuselage put together. It has been a real challange to say the least getting the model this far. I finally got her in the air after so many engineering changes from the ground up. Everything I had to do to this model to get her in flying condition is discussed in the RC Universe forums section under CMP Mosquito. The many details of the model are there. This video was a test flight flown at our club field called The Greater Cincinnati Radio Control Club or GCRCC for short in Trenton Ohio. You can go to our website at www.gcrcc.net to get more information about the club and the Air Show we put on every year the second weekend in August. The Model Air Show is called The GCRCC Flying Circus. We will celebrating our 50th anniversary show in 2010 on August 7th and 8th and the Butler County Regional Airport in Hamilton Ohio. Again, you can go to web page for up to date information on that as well.

Kermit Weeks' Mossie - Part 2 - The de Havilland Mosquito
Please be sure to also check out Part One of this Mossie video on our "aviationvideosdvd" channel. The de Havilland Mosquito was one of the all time classic aircraft of WWII. Made almost entirely of wood, the Mosquito thus avoided a dependence upon strategic metals, and made use of the skills of Britain's hugh woodworking industry. Endowed with exceptional high performance by its two Rolls Royce Merlins and clean aerodynamics, it was conceived both as an unarmed reconnaissance aircraft and bomber with a speed that would enable it to escape interception. First flow on November 25, 1940, it first entered operational service in the reconnaissance role as the Mosquito PR Mark 1 with a daylight sortie over France on September 20, 1941. Production of all Mosquitos totaled 7781, including 1117 built in Canada and 228 in Australia.

The original home of de Havilland Canada is now the home of the Canadian Air & Space Museum located in what is now Downsview Park. The aircraft company was created in 1928 by British de Havilland Aircraft Company to build Moth aircraft for the training of Canadian airmen, and subsequently after the Second World War, designed and produced indigenous designs. After a number of company changes, Bombardier Inc. sold the rights to the out-of-production aircraft (DHC-1 through DHC-7) to Viking Air Ltd. of Sidney, British Columbia, in May 2005. 1657 Beavers were produced until 1967 when the original line shut down.
