Franz Ferdinand - L. Wells
The video for "L. Wells" is in black and white, and features many venues in Glasgow, Scotland, including The Château, where Franz Ferdinand played many songs in their early days. It follows a woman going around Glasgow. However, this woman is not the Lynsey Wells about whom the song was written. Lynsey, originally from Maghull, Liverpool, was actually on holiday assisting in an orphanage and church in Africa when Franz Ferdinand decided to release the track. The video is inspired by Rita Tushingham in A Taste of Honey and, particularly, Julie Christie in Billy Liar. Lynsey is played by Saskia Pomeroy, a student at Glasgow School Of Art. None of the members of the band appear in the video. The video premiered on MTV's UK website on 24 March 2006.

www.ericthecarguy.com It's finally here, the first offering from the ETCG 2.0 series. With this series I hope to take ETCG to different places outside of the garage and into the street so to speak. Wells manufacturing was kind enough to allow me to visit their facility so that me and you the viewer could learn a little bit about what it takes to make some of the parts that are so vital to your vehicles operation. I had a great time on this trip and I hope you enjoy this video as I had a great time making it. I'd like to thank everyone at Wells for taking the time to be interviewed and for showing me around their facility. Well drilling - suction variant to standard EMAS method - part 1
EMAS manual well drilling is a method for drilling small-diameter tube wells by hand. This is a variant to the standard EMAS drilling method, which is described here. The drilling method is a hybrid between washboring, percussion and rotary drilling. It permits to drill through all kinds of loose soils, as well as consolidated materials and light rock. It will not, however, penetrate hard original rock or boulders (eg ancient river beds underground). The usual diameter of the tube well is 37 mm.
