  CBS Television City is a television studio complex located in the Fairfax District of Los Angeles at 7800 Beverly Boulevard, at the corner of North Fairfax Avenue. It is one of two CBS television studios in southern California — the other is CBS Studio Center, located in the Studio City section of the San Fernando Valley, which houses additional production facilities and the network's Los Angeles local television operations (KCBS and KCAL). Since 1961, it has served as the master control facility for CBS' west coast television network operations; prior to that, it was based at Columbia Square. The company's West Coast radio production center is located more than a mile away to the south, in the Miracle Mile neighborhood.
  Since Television City opened in 1952, numerous TV shows have been broadcast live or taped at the facility, including many shows not broadcast on CBS. Many films have also been produced in-part at Television City, such as the 1996 feature That Thing You Do! starring Tom Hanks and Liv Tyler. During the opening credits of many of the shows taped here, a voice-over announced the phrase "From Television City in Hollywood". The complex currently houses a total of eight separate studios. Backstage tours occasionally take place, with the guests being escorted by a CBS page.

  Liverpool ( /ˈlɪvəpuːl/) is a city and metropolitan borough of Merseyside, England, along the eastern side of the Mersey Estuary.   Alan Oswald Moore (born 18 November 1953) is an English writer primarily known for his work in comic books, a medium where he has produced a number of critically acclaimed and popular series, including Watchmen, V for Vendetta, and From Hell. Frequently described as the best graphic novel writer in history, he has also been described as "one of the most important British writers of the last fifty years". He has occasionally used such pseudonyms as Curt Vile, Jill de Ray, and Translucia Baboon.
  Moore started out writing for British underground and alternative fanzines in the late 1970s before achieving success publishing comic strips in such magazines as 2000 AD and Warrior. He was subsequently picked up by the American DC Comics, and as "the first comics writer living in Britain to do prominent work in America", he worked on big name characters such as Batman (Batman: The Killing Joke) and Superman (Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow?), substantially developed the minor character Swamp Thing, and penned original titles such as Watchmen. During that decade, Moore helped to bring about greater social respectability for the medium in the United States and United Kingdom, and has subsequently been credited with the development of the term "graphic novel" over "comic book". In the late 1980s and early 1990s he left the comic industry mainstream and went independent for a while, working on experimental work such as the epic From Hell, pornographic Lost Girls, and the prose novel Voice of the Fire. He subsequently returned to the mainstream later in the 1990s, working for Image Comics, before developing America's Best Comics, an imprint through which he published works such as The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen and the occult-based Promethea.

  William "Bill" Maher, Jr. ( /ˈmɑːr/; born January 20, 1956) is an American stand-up comedian, television host, political commentator, author, and actor. • Butterball Cenobite
  Butterball is a character from Clive Barker's Hellraiser franchise. He is a Cenobite, a group of extradimensional beings who experiment in forms of extreme sadomasochism as part of a religious devotion to hedonism. He is one of the first Cenobites introduced in the franchise, appearing both in the initial novella, The Hellbound Heart, as well as the films Hellraiser and Hellbound: Hellraiser II. He also made an appearance in Clive Barker's comic book sequel to Hellbound, the Hellraiser comic book series published by BOOM! comics in 2011. Despite appearing to be the second-in-command of the Cenobites in The Hellbound Heart, in the film and comics he primarily functions as a member of Pinhead's entourage.
  Butterball is a member of the Cenobites, formerly-human monsters dedicated to exploring the limits of human sensation; these "explorations" take the form of extreme sadomasochism, to the point that it is considered torture by most of those whom they encounter. He lives with his fellow Cenobites in an extradimensional realm called The Labyrinth, a gigantic maze accessible only via a puzzle box called The Lament Configuration, which opens a dimensional fissure. While those who possess unique qualities conducive to the Cenobite agenda are transformed into Cenobites upon opening the box, others are subjected to the Cenobites' "experiments." Like his fellow Cenobites, Butterball has lost all memory of his life as a human before he became a Cenobite. No further information has been given on his life before he became a Cenobite, although various non-canonical sources have offered speculation, including ad copy for a Butterball action figure.

  Chris Ryall
  Christopher "Chris" Ryall (born on April 2, 1969) is best known as the Chief Creative Officer and Editor-in-Chief of IDW Publishing (2004–Present), and as a writer in the comic book industry. In February 2011, his Eisner Award-nominated series, Zombies vs. Robots, co-created with artist Ashley Wood, was optioned by Sony Pictures for Michael Bay’s Platinum Dunes. He lives in San Diego with his wife Julie and daughter Lucy.
  Ryall was born in Long Beach, California. He is the son of Ken and Patricia Ryall, who encouraged Chris’ creativity from an early age. In particular, Patricia’s love for pop culture would begin to influence Chris’ own sensibilities, providing him with a healthy balance of and appreciation for high art to the low brow. It was not uncommon for there to be discussions about Richard Matheson’s short stories while a KISS album or Steve Martin comedy record was playing on the stereo. Patricia would often act as a sounding board and barometer for her son’s tastes, coupled with his own insatiable appetite for reading and writing (skills that would surface in Chris’ early work in such various capacities as a music reviewer for local newspapers, an advertising copywriter, a technical automotive writer, and a corporate speechwriter).

  Clive Barker
  Clive Barker (born 5 October 1952) is an English author, film director and visual artist best known for his work in both fantasy and horror fiction. Barker came to prominence in the mid-1980s with a series of short stories which established him as a leading young horror writer. He has since written many novels and other works, and his fiction has been adapted into motion pictures, notably the Hellraiser and Candyman series.
  Clive Barker was born in Liverpool, England, the son of Joan Rubie (née Revill), a painter and school welfare officer, and Leonard Barker, a personnel director for an industrial relations firm. Educated at Dovedale Primary School and the former Quarry Bank High School now Calderstones Quarry Bank High School, he studied English and Philosophy at Liverpool University.   In 2003, Barker received The Davidson/Valentini Award at the 15th GLAAD Media Awards, presented "to an openly lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender individual who has made a significant difference in promoting equal rights for any of those communities". While Barker is critical of organized religion, he has identified himself as a Christian and has stated that the Bible influences his work.

  Dax David Riggs (born 15 October 1973 in Evansville, Indiana, United States) is an American musician from Houma, Louisiana, most well known for formerly fronting the sludge metal band Acid Bath in the 1990s. Dax has been a part of many projects since then, including Agents of Oblivion and Deadboy & the Elephantmen. In 2007 he began releasing material under his own name. He currently resides in Austin, Texas.
  Corruption was Dax in his teens fronting a thrash metal band that played cover songs, though they never played a real gig.
  Golgotha was the sludge/thrash metal foundation of what would later become Acid Bath. The band released one demo Wet Dreams of the Insane (1991) under that name before changing it. It featured Dax Riggs as the lead vocalist, Mike Sanchez and Jerry "Boon" Businelli on guitar, Jimmy Kyle on drums, and Chad Pierce on bass.
  Acid Bath was a seminal heavy metal band from southern Louisiana. The band was marked by an unusual blend of black metal, doom metal, hardcore punk and psychedelia. Singer Dax Riggs's voice could range from a guttural growl to a Roy Orbison-esque wail in mid-song. In the liner notes for their second album, Paegan Terrorism Tactics, the band thanked the ghost of Roy Orbison (as well as David Bowie) for his help in creating their sound. The band was also noted for Dax's imaginative and distinctive lyrics which often featured themes of death and drugs.

  Douglas William "Doug" Bradley (born 7 September 1954) is an English actor best known for his roles in the Hellraiser film series.
  Bradley was born in Liverpool, Lancashire, England. He attended Quarry Bank High School.
  He is well known for playing the role of the Cenobite Pinhead in eight Hellraiser films (the only exception being the hastily assembled Hellraiser: Revelations), as well as the character of Captain Elliot Spencer in two of the films Hellbound: Hellraiser II (1988) and Hellraiser III: Hell on Earth (1992). He is one of only five actors to play the same horror character at least six consecutive times, the others being Sir Christopher Lee who portrayed Count Dracula at least seven consecutive times, Robert Englund who portrayed Freddy Krueger eight consecutive times, Warwick Davis who portrayed the Leprechaun (Leprechaun series) six consecutive times and Tobin Bell who portrayed Jigsaw in all seven Saw films.
  Bradley has appeared in an advertisement for direct line insurance in the UK (as a gym teacher), which appeared on TV, bus ads, in tube stations and on the internet. He has performed narrations on several songs by Cradle of Filth, an English extreme metal band. The first was 2000s "Her Ghost in the Fog" (as well as "Death Magick For Adepts" and "Tortured Soul Asylum"), however he could not appear in the music video and was replaced by actor David McEwen who would play the character of Kemper in Cradle of Fear. Bradley also appeared on its sequel - "Swansong For A Raven" (as well as the album intro "Satyriasis"). In 2006, he lent his narrations to "Rise of the Pentagram" and "Tonight In Flames". Continuing in this vein, Bradley has contributed guest vocals to Cradle of Filth's 2008 album, Godspeed on the Devil's Thunder, on most songs excluding "Tragic Kingdom". He seems to be playing the role of Gilles de Rais, the person on which the album's concept is based.

  Edgar Allan Poe
  Edgar Allan Poe (born Edgar Poe; January 19, 1809 – October 7, 1849) was an American author, poet, editor and literary critic, considered part of the American Romantic Movement. Best known for his tales of mystery and the macabre, Poe was one of the earliest American practitioners of the short story and is considered the inventor of the detective fiction genre.   He was born as Edgar Poe in Boston, Massachusetts; he was orphaned young when his mother died shortly after his father abandoned the family. Poe was taken in by John and Frances Allan, of Richmond, Virginia, but they never formally adopted him. He attended the University of Virginia for one semester but left due to lack of money. After enlisting in the Army and later failing as an officer's cadet at West Point, Poe parted ways with the Allans. In 1983, Elaine Lee directed a revised production with a new cast that was performed at the Park Royal Theater, from April 16-May 8, 1983.

  Frank Lovece is an American journalist, author, comedy performer and comic book writer. He was additionally one of the first professional Web journalists, becoming an editor of a Silicon Alley start-up in 1996.
  For an Entertainment Weekly article on direct-to-video movies representing themselves as theatrical releases, he produced the first — and, after the article's publication, only — home video to obtain an MPAA rating.
  Raised in Morgantown, West Virginia, Frank Lovece attended West Virginia University in that city, graduating with a bachelor of arts degree in communication. He was the arts/entertainment editor of the college newspaper, the Daily Athenaeum; held posts in student government; and interned with both the WWVU statewide radio news service, and, in Washington, D.C., the USDA Cooperative Extension Service.
  He became a stringer for the New York City/Long Island newspaper Newsday in the late 1980s, becoming a weekly TV columnist there in 2003.   George Pavlou is a London based British horror, science fiction and thriller film director. Pavlou directed three feature films of which two were based on material from British horror writer Clive Barker.
  He began his career directing and producing short films for the cinema. His first short "Bad Company" (1980), about a dysfunctional Greek family won the Special Prize for Young Cinema at Tours film festival.
  His second short film as director "The Antagonist", 1981, was released theatrically through Rank films as a support film to "Educating Rita". The film starred Ed Bishop and Trevor Peacock.
  He subsequently co produced a third short titled "Chickens Never Walk backwards", 1982, released by 20th Century Fox theatrically as a support to "Conan The Barbarian".
  Other feature films as associate producer include "Nutcracker" starring Joan Collins and the cinema short "Expresso Splasho" which supported the highly successful Eddie Murphy film "Trading Places".

  Herman Melville
  Herman Melville (August 1, 1819 – September 28, 1891) was an American novelist, short story writer, essayist, and poet. He is best known for his novel Moby-Dick. His first three books gained much contemporary attention (the first, Typee, becoming a bestseller), and after a fast-blooming literary success in the late 1840s, his popularity declined precipitously in the mid-1850s and never recovered during his lifetime. When he died in 1891, he was almost completely forgotten. It was not until the "Melville Revival" in the early 20th century that his work won recognition, especially Moby-Dick, which was hailed as one of the literary masterpieces of both American and world literature. He was the first writer to have his works collected and published by the Library of America.
  Herman Melville was born in New York City on August 1, 1819, the third of eight children of Allan and Maria Gansevoort Melvill. After her husband Allan died (& between 1832 & 1834), Maria added an "e" to the family surname — seemingly at the behest of Melville's brother Gansevoort. Part of a well-established and colorful Boston family, Melville's father spent a good deal of time abroad as a commission merchant and an importer of French dry goods. The author's paternal grandfather, Major Thomas Melvill, an honored participant of the Boston Tea Party who refused to change the style of his clothing or manners to fit the times, was depicted in Oliver Wendell Holmes's poem "The Last Leaf". Herman visited him in Boston, and his father turned to him in his frequent times of financial need.

Cocteau is best known for his novel Les Enfants terribles (1929), and the films Blood of a Poet (1930), Les Parents terribles (1948), Beauty and the Beast (1946), and Orpheus (1949). His circle of associates, friends and lovers included Kenneth Anger, Pablo Picasso, Jean Hugo, Jean Marais, Henri Bernstein, Marlene Dietrich, Coco Chanel, Erik Satie, María Félix, Édith Piaf and Raymond Radiguet.
  Cocteau was born in Maisons-Laffitte, Yvelines, a village near Paris, to Georges Cocteau and his wife, Eugénie Lecomte; a socially prominent Parisian family. His father was a lawyer and amateur painter who committed suicide when Cocteau was nine. He left home at fifteen. He published his first volume of poems, Aladdin's Lamp, at nineteen. Cocteau soon became known in Bohemian artistic circles as The Frivolous Prince, the title of a volume he published at twenty-two.   Neil Richard Gaiman ( /ˈɡeɪmən/; born 10 November 1960) is an English author of short fiction, novels, comic books, graphic novels, audio theatre and films. His notable works include the comic book series The Sandman and novels Stardust, American Gods, Coraline, and The Graveyard Book. He has won numerous awards, including Hugo, Nebula, Bram Stoker, Newbery Medal, and Carnegie Medal in Literature. He is the first author to win both the Newbery and the Carnegie medals for the same work.
  Gaiman's family is of Polish and other Eastern European Jewish origins; his great-grandfather emigrated from Antwerp before 1914 and his grandfather eventually settled in the Hampshire city of Portsmouth and established a chain of grocery stores. His father, David Bernard Gaiman, worked in the same chain of stores; his mother, Sheila Gaiman (née Goldman), was a pharmacist. He has two younger sisters, Claire and Lizzy. After living for a period in the nearby town of Portchester, Hampshire, where Neil was born in 1960, the Gaimans moved in 1965 to the West Sussex town of East Grinstead where his parents studied Dianetics at the Scientology centre in the town; one of Gaiman's sisters works for the Church of Scientology in Los Angeles. His other sister, Lizzy Calcioli, has said, "Most of our social activities were involved with Scientology or our Jewish family. It would get very confusing when people would ask my religion as a kid. I’d say, 'I’m a Jewish Scientologist.'" Gaiman says that he is not a Scientologist, and that like Judaism, Scientology is his family's religion.

  Paris Cullins is an African-American comic-book artist best known for his work on DC Comics' Blue Devil and Blue Beetle, and Marvel Comics' Hyperkind.
  Paris Cullins had sent DC Comics samples of his fledgling comics art since 1976, finally meeting with art director Dick Giordano in the last week of 1979. Cullins recalled in 2007 that,
  Cullins' first known credited comics work was as penciler-inker of the six-page story "Mystic Murder", by writer Steve Skeates, in the DC Comics supernatural anthology Secrets of Haunted House #42 (Nov. 1981). Cullins went on to pencil stories in such similar DC titles as House of Mystery, Ghosts, The Unexpected and Weird War Tales through the early 1980s, and made his superhero debut penciling an eight-page "Tales of the Green Lantern Corps" backup feature in Green Lantern #154 (July 1982). As well, artist Ernie Colón, whom Cullins met at DC and who drew Richie Rich and other children's titles for Harvey Comics, "offered me a job doing some extra work for Harvey Comics.   Ray Douglas Bradbury (born August 22, 1920) is an American fantasy, horror, science fiction, and mystery writer. Best known for his dystopian novel Fahrenheit 451 (1953) and for the science fiction stories gathered together as The Martian Chronicles (1950) and The Illustrated Man (1951), Bradbury is one of the most celebrated among 20th and 21st century American writers of speculative fiction. Many of Bradbury's works have been adapted into television shows or films.
  Bradbury was born in 1920 in Waukegan, Illinois to Esther Moberg Bradbury, a Swedish immigrant, and Leonard Spaulding Bradbury, a power and telephone lineman.
  Ray Bradbury is related to the American Shakespeare scholar Douglas Spaulding. He is also directly descended from Mary Bradbury, who was tried, convicted and sentenced to hang as a witch in Salem, Massachusetts in 1692. She was married to Captain Thomas Bradbury of Salisbury, Massachusetts.
  Bradbury was a reader and writer throughout his youth who was greatly influenced by the writings of Edgar Allan Poe. Bradbury was especially impressed with Poe's ability to draw readers into his works. In his youth, he spent much time in the Carnegie library in Waukegan, Illinois, reading such authors as H.G. Wells, Jules Verne, and his favorite author, Edgar Rice Burroughs who wrote novels such as Tarzan of the Apes and The Warlord of Mars. He loved Burroughs' The Warlord of Mars so much that at the age of twelve he wrote his own sequel. An aunt read him short stories when he was a child. He used this library as a setting for much of his novel Something Wicked This Way Comes, and depicted Waukegan as "Green Town" in some of his other semi-autobiographical novels—Dandelion Wine, Farewell Summer—as well as in many of his short stories.

  Ray Zone is an American film historian, author, artist, and pioneer in methods of converting flat images (in particular, comic books) into stereoscopic images.
  Starlog has called him the "King of 3-D Comics", and Artsy Planet has called him the "3D King of Hollywood".
  Ray Zone began working in comic books in 1983 and his early collaborations with Jack C. Harris and Steve Ditko drew the attention of Archie Goodwin, who recruited him to work with John Byrne on the 1990 Batman 3-D, a full-length 3D graphic novella. Since then, he has produced 3D adaptations of art for over 150 comic books, including stories by Alan Moore and Grant Morrison which were specifically written to accommodate stereoscopy. Zone is the author of "3D Filmmakers, Conversations with Creators of Stereoscopic Motion Pictures" (Scarecrow Press: 2005) and "Stereoscopic Cinema and the Origins of 3-D Film, 1838 - 1952" (University Press of Kentucky: 2007). In 2008 Zone worked as 3D Supervisor on the feature film "Dark Country 3D" (Sony Pictures) with director/star Thomas Jane and in 2010 as 3D Producer on "Brijes 3D," (Ithrax/SDA), the first animated 3D feature film made in Mexico.

  Ryuhei Kitamura
  Ryuhei Kitamura (北村 龍平, Kitamura Ryūhei^?) (born May 30, 1969) is a Japanese filmmaker.
  Born in Osaka, Japan, Kitamura quit high school and went to the School of Visual Arts in Australia at age 17.
  His first film was the short Exit, which he made as his graduation piece at age 19. After graduating, he returned to Japan to establish Napalm Films, his independent film production studio. While his films Down to Hell and Heat After Dark were successful in film festivals, Kitamura's rise to international fame came from Versus.
  Kitamura went on to direct several movies, including adaptations of the manga Azumi and the popular Japanese TV drama Sky High. He had also collaborated with director Yukihiko Tsutsumi in the Duel Project, in which the two agreed to produce the best dueling movie with minimal production time and budget, with Aragami being Kitamura's part. He also ventured into the world of video games by directing the cut scenes and motion capturing of Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes. Kitamura also served as producer on 2003's Battlefield Baseball, the directorial debut of Yūdai Yamaguchi (Versus co-writer). Kitamura's 2004 kaiju film, Godzilla: Final Wars had its premiere in Hollywood.

  Steve Skroce is a Canadian comic book and film storyboard artist. He is of Croatian descent.
  Skroce broke into comics in 1993 on the Clive Barker series Ectokid for Marvel Comics' Razorline imprint. He went to work on the Marvel series Cable and X-Man before moving onto The Amazing Spider-Man in 1996. He briefly worked on Rob Liefeld's Youngblood comics, and returned to Marvel Comics to pencil Gambit.
  Having worked with authors Larry and Andy Wachowski (though only Larry was credited on the book) on Ectokid, Skroce was contacted to create storyboards for The Matrix, which were used by the writing-producing-directing Wachowski-brothers team to help pitch their movie to Warner Bros.
  Skroce briefly returned to Marvel in 2000 to write and pencil four issues of Wolverine before drawing storyboards for the rest of the Matrix Trilogy, as well as for the 2004 film I, Robot.
  In 2004, he co-created (along with comic book artist Geof Darrow) and draws Doc Frankenstein for Burlyman Entertainment, which is written by the Wachowski Brothers.

  Todd McFarlane
  Todd McFarlane (born March 16, 1961) is a Canadian cartoonist, writer, toy designer and entrepreneur, best known for his work in comic books, such as the fantasy series Spawn.
  In the late 1980s and early 1990s, McFarlane became a comic book superstar due to his work on Marvel Comics' Spider-Man franchise. In 1992, he helped form Image Comics, pulling the occult anti-hero character Spawn from his high school portfolio and updating him for the 1990s. Spawn was a popular hero in the 1990s and encouraged a trend in creator-owned comic book properties.
  Since leaving inking duties on Spawn with issue #70 (February 1998), McFarlane has illustrated comic books less often, focusing on entrepreneurial efforts, such as McFarlane Toys and Todd McFarlane Entertainment, a film and animation studio. In September, 2006, it was announced that McFarlane will be the Art Director of the newly formed 38 Studios, formerly Green Monster Games, founded by major league baseball pitcher Curt Schilling.   William Blake
  William Blake (28 November 1757 – 12 August 1827) was an English poet, painter, and printmaker. Largely unrecognised during his lifetime, Blake is now considered a seminal figure in the history of both the poetry and visual arts of the Romantic Age. His prophetic poetry has been said to form "what is in proportion to its merits the least read body of poetry in the English language". His visual artistry has led one contemporary art critic to proclaim him "far and away the greatest artist Britain has ever produced". Although he lived in London his entire life except for three years spent in Felpham he produced a diverse and symbolically rich corpus, which embraced the imagination as "the body of God", or "Human existence itself".
  Considered mad by contemporaries for his idiosyncratic views, Blake is held in high regard by later critics for his expressiveness and creativity, and for the philosophical and mystical undercurrents within his work. His paintings and poetry have been characterised as part of both the Romantic movement and "Pre-Romantic", for its large appearance in the 18th century. Reverent of the Bible but hostile to the Church of England – indeed, to all forms of organised religion – Blake was influenced by the ideals and ambitions of the French and American revolutions, as well as by such thinkers as Jakob Böhme and Emanuel Swedenborg. Despite these known influences, the singularity of Blake's work makes him difficult to classify. The 19th-century scholar William Rossetti characterised Blake as a "glorious luminary," and as "a man not forestalled by predecessors, nor to be classed with contemporaries, nor to be replaced by known or readily surmisable successors".
