Kwame Ture defines Pan-Africanism (1 of 2)
Speaking in 1995, three years before his passing on, Kwame Ture (formerly Stokeley Carmichael) gives the conception of Pan-Africanism on which the All-African People's Revolutionary Party is based on. For more info, go to http://www.aaprp-intl.org.
""The total liberation and unification of Africa under an All-African Socialist Government must be the primary objective of all Black revolutionaries throughout the world. It is an objective which, when achieved, will bring about the fulfillment of the aspirations of Africans and people of African descent everywhere. It will at the same time advance the triumph of the international socialist movement." — Osageyfo Kwame Nkrumah

The Pan-African Movement Part 1 (Malik Zulu Shabazz)
http://thedropsquad.com/
W.E.B. DuBois was one of the first African-Americans to support the idea of Pan-Africanism. He attended the first Pan-African Conference in London in 1900. He later organized the conferences held in Europe and in America.
Although Dubois was a significant leader in the origins of the Pan-African Movement, it is imperative to understand why the imperialist powers were able to continue to exploit Africa. We can begin with the relationship between the Western world and leaders like Julius Nyerere and Kwame Nkrumah. Western governments encouraged them to provide limited welfare measures, particularly health care and education. The World bank underwrote their schemes for industrialization and agricultural development. The colonial authorities ha, in many cases, drawn up plans for these projects before independence was granted. Tanzania under Nyerere became on of the world's largest recipients of the World Bank loans. Without this support, the Pan-Africanists' administration would not still be existent.
Nkrumah was the first of the Pan-African leaders to come to power. His journey from prison cell to government was a pattern that was to be followed in an increasing number of colonies, as the British sought to maintain their power in Africa. The more Nkrumah cooperated, however, their suspicion of Pan-Africanists resided.
Joseph Stalin was the next great influence during the time of World War II. To continue the progress of the movement, he disarmed the worker's movement. After Stalin had done this, he attempted to make an alliance with other world powers by selling oil to Mussolini when he invaded Ethiopia and signed a pact with Hitler. When Stalin tried to make an alliance with Great Britain, he ordered members of the communist party to drop their support for anti-colonial movements. This discredited socialism in the eyes of many supporters, impacting India the most.
The betrayal of the Indian anti-colonial struggle had indirectly affected the Pan-African movement (at this time, the organization was still American based.) George Padmore, a leading West Indian communist party member decided to leave the communist party and join the Pan-African movement. He successfully turn this organization into an African based movement by portraying it as the only combat to the imperialistic struggle.
Pan-Africanist leaders were able to maintain the ability to do as they see fit, mainly because of the Cold War. If they decided to step over their boundaries, however, they could have been become an enemy to the western world. Actually, the Belgian, British, and U.S. governments all concluded that Patrice Lumumba had to be murdered when he called on the Soviet troops to support his government in the Congo. On the other hand, others like Nyerere survived because of the support he gave the Western governments during the Cold War.
A very persuasive quote by Marcus Garvey states:
UP!UP! You Mighty Race! You can Accomplish What you will! I repeat that God created you masters of your own destiny, masters of your own fate, and you can pay no higher tribute to your Divine Master than function as man, as He created you. "A people without knowledge of their past and history is like a tree without roots!" AFRICA FOR THE AFRICANS!
Even today, some experts partly blame the Pan-Africanists for the continued exploitation of Africa. This is concluded because they continued to pursue economic and political policies that has kept Africa bound by the world powers.

The Real Reason for NATO Attacking Libya EXPOSED
Some believe it is about protecting civilians, others say it is about oil, but some are convinced intervention in Libya is all about Gaddafi's plan to introduce the gold dinar, a single African currency made from gold, a true sharing of the wealth.
"It's one of these things that you have to plan almost in secret, because as soon as you say you're going to change over from the dollar to something else, you're going to be targeted," says Ministry of Peace founder Dr James Thring. "There were two conferences on this, in 1986 and 2000, organized by Gaddafi. Everybody was interested, most countries in Africa were keen."

Celestial Lights
Celestial Lights is my second video project. It is another stop motion based video about the northern lights. The video is shot in the northern parts of Norway, Finland and Sweden during autumn 2011, winter and spring 2012.

For those who do not know, auroras are caused by solar activity. This is shortly visualized in the video. Our suns activity varies in 11 year cycles, and we are closing solar maximum (solar max) for our current solar cycle somewhere between 2012-2013, and solar activity with corresponding auroral activity has clearly been picking up. The beginning of 2011 was lots of clouds but weather improved late 2011 and out 2012. This video contains recordings from some of the most spectacular auroral displays I have ever witnessed, and I have seen a few.
For this video I did shoot approx 150.000 exposures from sept.2011 - april.2012 using Canon DSLR's and various wide angle lenses. Approx 6.000 frames in this video. To achieve pannings I used the fantastic Stage Zero + MX2 controller time-lapse gear from Dynamic Perception.
The video is a merge of two parts; the first part contains some more wild and aggressive auroras, as well as a few milky way sequences, hence either auroras are moving fast because they are, or they are fast due to motion of the milky way / stars. Still, some of the strait up shots are very close to real-time speed, although auroras mostly are slower, she can also be FAST! The second part has some more slow and majestic auroras, where I have focused more on composition and foreground. The music should give you a clear indication of where you are :)
Again, choosing what sequences to use was a battle, and many good sequences will have to wait for a later project I am working on ;) - More info about this will be announced on my facebook site. http://facebook.com/arcticlightphoto
This video summarizes the end of a hectic aurora season for me, and my last shots was done only a few days ago. However now the late sunlight is making it hard to shoot the auroras at night up here, so I decided enough was enough for now, and time to release the video.
I have driven thousands of km between locations up here in the arctic this season, and while on location(s) I was running between 2-3 cameras like a madman, and almost every sequence you see in this video also has been shot using circular fish-eye optics, for yet another project to come. Luckily I had some good company on many of the cold nights.
Gear used:
Canon EOS 5D Mark II, Canon EOS 5D Mark III
Canon 15mm f/2.8, Canon 24mm f/1.4 II, Canon 17-40 f/4, Nikon 14-24 f/2.8,
Samyang 14mm f/2.8, Samyang 24mm f/1.4
Dynamic Perception Stage Zero + MX2, Orion/Merlin AZ Teletrack head.

Ocean Sky
At a star party in August 2009 I took my first long exposure photograph of the night sky. I was so thrilled with the results that I dedicated most moonless weekends since then to photographing two things I love the most in nature - the night sky and the Ocean.
Taking a series of images and combining them into a time lapse video sequence made it even more interesting. I have since experimented with all-night time lapses, panning motion, etc. But most importantly I've enjoyed the journey immensely.
This time lapse video is the result of almost 1.5 years of work, 31 hours of taking images during six nights on Southern Ocean Coast in Australia.
Ocean Sky was awarded the overall winner prize at STARMUS astrophotography competition:

I shot a photo roughly every two miles between take-off in San Francisco and landing in Paris CDG to make this airplane time lapse.
Big thanks to the folks at http://uxlondon.com for inviting me to europe to speak - if it wasn't for them I wouldn't have made the trip. Shot with a 5d2, a time-lapse controller, and a 16mm - 35mm, mixed with some iPhone shots. The music is a modified template "Gain" used with permission from DETUNE ltd. denkitribe http://soundcloud.com/denkitribe/gain - I arranged on the Korg iMS20 iPad App. Edits and pans in After Effects CS5 and iMovie.
The photos during take-off and landing are all computer models and totally rendered because I would never use an electronic device when the FAA prohibits them. I did get lucky and have a whole row to myself to setup the tripod and gear.
Thanks to my neighbors for not minding an SLR click every 2 to 30 seconds for 11 hours, and thanks to the whole Air France flight crew for being insanely friendly and allowing me to shoot. Thanks to @ztaylor for showing me the Korg iMS20 iPad App. Thanks to @jayzombie and the #nerdbird on the way to SXSW this year for helping me come up with the idea. Thanks to @somnabulent for the idea of live scoring. Thanks to you for actually reading this far. You are a champion.

John Henrik Clarke - A Great and Mighty Walk (full version)
Documentarian St. Claire Bourne takes a close-up look at author and historian John Henrik Clarke, who, on camera for much of the film, bounces back and forth between a description of his own personal history, and his views on the history of Africa and of Pan-Africanism. His points are backed up by old newsreel footage, and by images of artwork depicting Africans and their civilization over the centuries. Actor Wesley Snipes executive produced the film and serves as a narrator. John Henrik Clarke: A Great and Mighty Walk was made in 1996, with Clarke suffering from glaucoma, barely able to see as he gives his sweeping account. He talks about his own upbringing, and his growing interest in Pan-Africanism, the failures of the civil rights movement and the Black Power movement, his close friendship with Malcolm X, and his critical assessment of Louis Farrakhan's Million Man March. He also gives a primer on the history of African civilization, and argues that no conquering or colonizing power ever "brought civilization" to Africa, but rather these nations destroyed what civilization they didn't understand, and brought many of Africa's ideas back to their bases in ancient Greece and Rome. He also describes how Black Africans were methodically removed from the history of the civilization of the Nile. He details how leaders like Marcus Garvey, W.E.B. Du Bois, and Ghanaian Kwame Nkrumah spread the ideas of Pan-Africanism throughout the U.S. and the world. John Henrik Clarke: A Great and Mighty Walk was shown at the 1997 Sundance Film Festival, and won the Best Documentary award at the 1997 UrbanWorld Film Festival. Clarke died of a heart attack in 1998. ~ Josh Ralske, Rovi
