Bangli

Bangli is a regency (kabupaten) of Bali, Indonesia. It has an area of 520.81 km² and population of 197,210 (2004). Its regency seat is Bangli.

Up till 1907, Bangli was one of the nine kingdoms^{[citation needed]} of Bali. The capital has a famous Hindu temple, the Pura Kehen, which dates from the 11th century. Bangli also has one village, lies surround a hill, Demulih.

The northern part of the district included the main road to the north coast passing through Kintamani and around the crater in which Gunung Batur sits ^[1]

From the Demulih hill, Bali Island, particularly its southern part can be seen – Kuta, Nusa Dua, Gianyar and a part of Klungkung.

Saera Tithi Khan (born April 23, 1979 in Oslo) is a Bangladeshi-Norwegian politician for the Labour Party.

She was elected to the Norwegian Parliament from Oslo in 2005. She had previously served as a deputy representative during the term 2001–2005. She was the only member of the Storting of immigrant background, until October 2007 when Akhtar Chaudhry took another of the Oslo seats.

On the local level she was a member of Oslo city council from 1999 to 2005.

2008 psychic phone call controversy[link]

Controversy erupted in late September 2008 when it was revealed that Khan had racked up extremely high phone bills using the mobile phone with which she was provided for free by the Parliament.^[1] The president of the Storting, Thorbjørn Jagland, refused to pay these phone bills because of the extremely large amounts involved.^[1] First, Khan claimed that the reason for the high bills was that she had called her family abroad.^[2] When this was shown to be false, she instead claimed that she had a boyfriend who was a special operations soldier, and that the phone bills originated from satellite telephone calls to this boyfriend,^[3] triggering an investigation by the Norwegian Army because Norwegian soldiers are not allowed to receive private satellite calls while on duty. The result of this investigation was that the Army denied that Khan's boyfriend was a Norwegian soldier, upon which Khan told media that the alleged boyfriend was attached to the British ISAF force,^[4] and that his identity could not be disclosed for security reasons.^[5] The British Ministry of Defence subsequently denied^[6] that soldiers in the ISAF force were allowed to receive satellite phone calls. Following these revelations, Khan admitted that the phone bills were not due to overseas satellite calls, but rather from calls to Norwegian premium-rate numbers offering psychic advice services.^[7][8] The morning after these revelations, October 8, Khan went on sick leave^[9] and announced later in the day that she is resigning as candidate for the 2009 parliamentary elections.^[10] Khan has repaid the part of her phone bills that exceeds reasonable use for a member of Parliament.^[7]

The BBC reported on 10 October 2008 ^[11] that she had made 793 calls and that "her calls became so frequent that many fortune-tellers told her to stop ringing".

In a curious turn of events, the Norwegian soap opera "Hotel Cæsar" had a plot line about a person calling psychic advisers on his employer's expense only weeks before reports of Khan's phone use appeared in the press.

Anupam Roy (Bengali: অনুপম রায়) is a Bengali lyricist, composer, singer and a guitarist. He is best known for his song Amake amar moto thakte dao (আমাকে আমার মত থাকতে দাও ), which appeared on the soundtrack to the 2010 film Autograph. He is also known for the songs "Ekbar Bol", "Gobhire Jao", "Tistaan" and "Beche Thakar Gaan" among others. Anupam has written and composed more than 150 Bengali songs.^{[citation needed]}

Early life[link]

Born and brought up in Calcutta ( Ancestral Home in Berhampore, West Bengal ), Anupam completed his schooling from St. Paul's Boarding & Day School, Kidderpore(Class X) and MP Birla Foundation, Behala (Class XII). He did his graduation in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering from Jadavpur University, Kolkata. He was the gold medalist of his batch. He used to work for Texas Instruments India, Bangalore as an analog circuit design engineer from 2004 (July) to 2011 (March).

Anupam has been writing songs from his childhood. His biggest break was having two of his songs featured in the Bengali film, Autograph (2010) by Srijit Mukherji. Anupam wrote and composed Bneche Thakaar Gaan (বেঁচে থাকার গান), sung by Rupam Islam and Amake Amar Moto Thakte Dao (আমাকে আমার মত থাকতে দাও ), which he sung himself. This song, though sung very off key, has a pathos in his voice, went on to become one of the biggest hits of recent times and fetched him numerous awards. Anupam, subsequently debuted as music director for the Bengali movie "Chalo Paltai" (2011). In the same year movies like Baishe Srabon, Rang Milanti released where he continued his work as a music director, lyricist & vocalist. The songs "Gobhire Jao", "Ekbar Bol", "Ei Shrabon", "Je Kota Din" from the film Baishe Srabon have become very popular. He recently released "Durbine Chokh Rakhbona", his first solo album which contains the hit "Tistaan" and also the original version of "Beche Thakar Gaan".
