Parade (ballet)

Parade is a ballet with music by Erik Satie and a one-act scenario by Jean Cocteau. The ballet was composed 1916–1917 for Sergei Diaghilev's Ballets Russes. The ballet premiered on Friday, May 18, 1917 at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris, with costumes and sets designed by Pablo Picasso, choreography by Léonide Massine (who danced), and the orchestra conducted by Ernest Ansermet.

The idea of the ballet seems to have come from Jean Cocteau. He had heard Satie's Trois morceaux en forme de poire ("Three Pieces in the Shape of a Pear") in a concert, and thought of writing a ballet scenario to such music. Satie welcomed the idea of composing ballet music (which he had never done until that moment) but refused to allow any of his previous compositions to be used for the occasion, so Cocteau started writing a scenario (the theme being a publicity parade in which three groups of circus artists try to attract an audience to an indoor performance), to which Satie composed the music (with some additions to the orchestral score by Cocteau, see below).

Although no official radio singles released off Christmas, a music video was made for "O Come All Ye Faithful".

Note

The signature "war is over" chant in "Happy Christmas" (she spells out the whole word) and also the eponymous part of the song's title itself are intentionally omitted by the artist. In 2003, she read letters from United States soldiers to be aired on Fox News Channel during the Christmas season; furthermore, she and her record label, EMI Group plc, have released a music video of her song "I Thank You" (from Wait for Me) that saluted all troops (especially US, UK, Australia) in the successful conquest against Saddam Hussein in Iraq.

Christmas (Clay Walker album)

Christmas is country music singer Clay Walker's seventh album. It was released September 10, 2002, on Warner Bros. Records. It features Walker's renditions of various Christmas songs. "Blue Christmas" and "Feliz Navidad" both charted on the Hot Country Songs charts from Christmas airplay.

Walker told Country France, "The Christmas album we just made should be coming out right now. The thing I like about it so much is all of the songs are standards. No written, new material. I would rather personally sing along to a standard myself. So I just put myself in other people’s place. The thing I like the most about it is that it has orchestra, strings, horns, real orchestra, its costs a lot of money to make."

Christmas (Michael Bublé album)

Christmas is the seventh studio album and fifth major label studio album released by Canadian singer Michael Bublé. The album was released on October 21, 2011 in Ireland, October 24, 2011 in the United Kingdom, and October 25, 2011 in the United States. On the week ending December 10, 2011, Christmas rose to No. 1 on the Billboard 200 album sales chart, becoming Bublé's third chart-topper following 2007's Call Me Irresponsible and 2009's Crazy Love, and spending five weeks at No. 1.

The album also won a Juno Award for Album of the Year, making it the first holiday album to win the award. The album was re-released on November 26, 2012, containing four additional tracks, including a new recording of "The Christmas Song". Bublé also released a reworked version of "White Christmas", this time featuring Bing Crosby, as a single. This version premiered on Michael's NBC television special, Home for the Holidays, on December 10, 2012.

Background

The album is Bublé's second Christmas-themed release, after he released a five-track extended play, titled Let It Snow. Some of the songs from Let It Snow have been re-recorded for inclusion on Christmas, making Christmas his first full-length holiday release. For the album, Bublé teamed up with several well-known artists to record duets. His duet version of "White Christmas" with country music singer Shania Twain was based on an early arrangement by The Drifters, while his recording of "Jingle Bells" with The Puppini Sisters was based on the 1943 recording of Bing Crosby and The Andrews Sisters. He also teamed up with Latin star Thalía for a recording of "Feliz Navidad". Bublé also recorded covers of Mariah Carey's "All I Want for Christmas Is You", and "Blue Christmas", and a brand new track, "Cold December Night", written with his longtime co-writer Alan Chang and producer Bob Rock.

"Disneyland" is the 22nd episode of the third season of the American sitcom Modern Family and the series' 70th overall. It first aired on ABC on May 9, 2012. It was written by Cindy Chupack and directed by James Bagdonas.

Plot

The entire family decide to go out for a day trip to Disneyland.

Luke (Nolan Gould) and Phil (Ty Burrell) are excited to ride the roller-coasters together but Phil panics when he feels queasy after riding the first ride. He gets more worried when Jay (Ed O'Neill) tells him it is a normal reaction for someone as they get older. Phil is later relieved to discover that he only feels ill because he comes down with the flu.

Claire (Julie Bowen) decides to introduce Haley (Sarah Hyland) to her friend's nephew, Ethan (Matt Prokop). The two get along but Claire's plans are foiled when the family bump into Dylan (Reid Ewing) who works at the park as a "Dapper Dan". Alex (Ariel Winter) eventually ends up taking a liking to Ethan whilst Haley dwells over why Dylan did not tell her he was back in town. Claire manages to pull Alex away from Ethan and she persuades Haley to spend time with him again but it takes a turn for the worst when Ethan assaults Dylan, who is dressed in a Little John costume. Ethan separates from the family when he bumps into a group of friends and Haley and Dylan decide to get back together.
