The most Beautiful Landscapes of Europe - Part 1
The Mediterranean Sea is connected to the Atlantic Ocean by the Strait of Gibraltar on the west and to the Sea of Marmara and the Black Sea, by the Dardanelles and the Bosporus respectively, on the east. The Sea of Marmara is often considered a part of the Mediterranean Sea, whereas the Black Sea is generally not. The 163 km (101 mi) long man-made Suez Canal in the southeast connects the Mediterranean Sea to the Red Sea. Large islands in the Mediterranean include Cyprus, Crete, Euboea, Rhodes, Lesbos, Chios, Kefalonia and Corfu in the eastern Mediterranean; Sardinia, Corsica, Sicily, and Malta in the central Mediterranean; and Ibiza, Majorca and Minorca (the Balearic Islands) in the western Mediterranean. The climate is typical Mediterranean climate with hot, dry summers and mild, rainy winters. Crops of the region include olives, grapes, oranges, tangerines, and cork.

Travel Venice, Italy - Touring the Canals of Venice
Take a tour of Canals of Venice in Italy -- part of the World's Greatest Attractions travel video series by GeoBeats. Italy is a country of many famous sights, foremost of which are the Venice Canals. Canals are everywhere in Venice. You will not find any automobiles here. Because of these waterways, Venice has a reputation for being the world's most romantic city. Nearly as famous as the canals themselves are the gondolas that travel up and down them. Many of these boats are available to rent for guided tours or romantic voyages. It's an unreal experience to sail down watery "streets" between the buildings of Venice. Venice's mild, Mediterranean climate means that trips on the canals can be enjoyed year round.

Behind the Scenes Baja | Episode 10: "Mediterranean" Mexico
"Mediterranean" Mexico is not necessarily a phrase you might have heard before. But in the Valle de Guadalupe, about an hour and a half outside of Tijuana, it's one of the ways locals describe their microclimate, which is perfect for winemaking and olive groves. As Manuel of Rancho Olivares explained, Valle de Guadalupe is apart of one of only 5 true Mediterranean climates in the world!

Dolina Soče – Soca Valley – Valle dell'Isonzo – Soča Tal
Soča Valley http://soca-valley.com is a Slovenian outdoor paradise .. Fly fishing, rafting, kayaking, canyoning, walking, mountaineering, skiing and rock climbing, mountain biking and paragliding are only some of the most popular adventures in the valley. Untouched beauties of Triglav National Park, thematic trails and breathtaking views, mountain pastures, hundreds of years of local heritage and know how hidden in the local products, excellent restaurants, famous events or just romantic walks alongside the banks of the emerald river makes the valley a perfect place for active and green minded people.
The valley is also known for the Isonzo front. During the World War I it was a place of the one of the world’s biggest and bloodiest mountain battles. Hemingway’s novel Farwell to the arms describes some of the events. Reminds of the battle lines and fortifications, all of them placed in the astonishing natural surroundings are connected to the Walks of Peace thematic trail today.
There is only an hour drive from the sheer mountain valley to the Adriatic coast. The mixture of Mediterranean and alpine climates, geographic shapes and wild life is quite obvious in the way of local everyday life too - hard working and reliable mountain people are blessed with the Mediterranean hospitality and joy of life. The Soča Valley is a good place to be.

Alongside lead designers Grant Associates, the British design team for Bay South included Wilkinson Eyre Architects (architects); Atelier Ten (environmental design consultants); Atelier One (structural engineers); Land Design Studio (museum and visitor centre designers); Thomas Matthews (communication designers). Squint Opera (animations) and Buro 4 (design management).
This team was supported by a number of Singapore Consultants including CPG (architecture, civils and structures, M&E;), Meinhardt Infrastructure (civils and structures), Langdon Seah (cost consultants), LPA (lighting design), PMLink (project management) and WET (irrigation).
The client, National Parks Board of Singapore, and the Gardens by the Bay project team were instrumental in delivering the world class collections of plants.

Frozen in Istanbul
We thought living in a Mediterranean climate would afford us a relatively mild winter. Little did we realize a natural phenomenon known as "sea-effect snow" occurs specifically in the regions of the Black Sea in Georgia and... Turkey. This left an entire city of Turks & expats alike utilizing makeshift wooden paddles as shovels to muck out endless snow, and it threw us mother nature's first curve "snowball" of our international journey.

The mediterranean climate, the location amidst a landscape of low hills, the presence of oak woods, the non-intensive cultures contribute to preserve the biodiversity and the precious balance of this ecosystem.
