As Maine entered the 18th century, only a half dozen European settlements survived. Patriot and British forces contended for Maine's territory during the American Revolution and the War of 1812. Maine was part of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts until 1820, when it voted to secede from Massachusetts. It was subsequently claimed by Spain as a part of Alta California until the Mexican War of Independence brought it under Mexican control. The United States gained the territory in 1848 following its victory in the Mexican-American War and the area was eventually incorporated as part of Utah Territory in 1850. The discovery of silver at the Comstock Lode in 1859 led to a population boom that was an impetus to the creation of Nevada Territory out of western Utah Territory in 1861.   Silvestri is best known for his collaborations with director Robert Zemeckis, having scored Romancing the Stone (1984), the Back to the Future trilogy (1985, 1989, 1990), Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988), Death Becomes Her (1992), Forrest Gump (1994), Contact (1997), Cast Away (2000), The Polar Express (2004), Beowulf (2007), A Christmas Carol (2009) and The Avengers (2012).
  Silvestri is also known for his work on Predator (1987) and Predator 2 (1990), both of which are considered preeminent examples of action/science fiction film scores. His most recent work included The Avengers in 2012.

  Argenziano was born in Sharon, Pennsylvania, the son of Elizabeth Stella (née Falvo) and Joseph Guy Argenziano, who was a restaurateur. One of his best known roles is as the recurring character Jacob Carter in the television series Stargate SG-1.   Frederick D. Coffin (January 16, 1943 - July 31, 2003) was an American film actor.
  Coffin was born in Detroit, Michigan in 1943 to actress Winifred Deforest Coffin, and was one of five children. He was educated at Western Reserve Academy in Hudson, Ohio, where he was both a student and athlete. He began to study theater at WRA and graduated in 1961, with a BA in theater. He enrolled the University of Michigan in 1962, where he had hoped to play football, but instead decided to focus on acting. He graduated the University of Michigan with a masters in theater.
  Coffin began acting in theater. He made his screen debut in 1973 when he appeared in the television film Much Ado About Nothing, an adaptation of the play, in which he also starred. He appeared in his first feature film in 1976 in the drama Dragonfly, with Beau Bridges and Susan Sarandon. His second feature was the Golden Globe nominated King of the Gypsies, with Shelley Winters. In 1980, Coffin had a leading role in the cult horror classic Mother's Day, his role as the sadistic "Ike" is one he is best known for. Coffin credited himself as Holden McGuire for Mother's Day. During the eighties, Coffin appeared in several films: the horror film Alone in the Dark, which starred Donald Pleasence, Without a Trace, Nothing Lasts Forever, the biography film Jo Jo Dancer, Your Life Is Calling with Richard Pryor, the action comedy A Fine Mess with Ted Danson, and The Bedroom Window. In the Nineties, Coffin continued to appear in films, one of which he is known for is 1992 comedy Wayne's World, with Mike Myers and Dana Carvey, and the Steven Seagal film Hard to Kill. He would appear in two final films before his death in 2003: View from the Top with Gwyneth Paltrow, and Identity with John Cusack.

  Busey was born in Los Angeles, California, but raised in Malibu, California, the son of Judy Lynn Helkenberg, a photographer, and actor Gary Busey.   James Allen Mangold (born 16 December 1963) is an American film director and screenwriter. He is perhaps best known for Walk the Line (2005) which he co-wrote and directed.
  Mangold was born in New York City, the son of artists Robert Mangold and Sylvia Plimack Mangold. After graduating from Washingtonville High School, Mangold was accepted into the California Institute of the Arts film/video program. While there, he mentored under Alexander Mackendrick. During his third year, Mackendrick suggested that Mangold should study at CalArts School of Theater as an actor alongside his regular film studies. One of his classmates was Don Cheadle.
  Based on the response to his short films, in 1985 Mangold got a fast start as a graduate of CalArts, securing a writer/director deal (at age 21) at Disney. Mangold grew disillusioned at the studio. He wrote a television movie and the animated feature "Oliver and Company". A few years later, Mangold decided to re-establish himself in New York and applied to Columbia University's film school, where he graduated with an MFA in film.   Cusack gained fame in the mid-1980s after appearing in teen movies such as Better Off Dead, The Sure Thing, One Crazy Summer, and Sixteen Candles. Cusack made a cameo in the 1988 music video for "Trip At The Brain" by Suicidal Tendencies. In 1989 he starred as Lloyd Dobler in Cameron Crowe's Say Anything.... His roles broadened in the late 1980s and early 1990s with more serious-minded fare such as the politically themed True Colors and the film noir thriller The Grifters.   Kenzle was born in Patchogue, Long Island, New York, the daughter of Lee, an antiques dealer, and Kurt Kenzle, who worked in electrical supply sales. Before moving to Los Angeles to become an actress she worked as a hotel telephone operator. Her big break came when she was cast as a stripper in the off-Broadway production of Tony n' Tina's Wedding. Her TV credits include appearances on The Golden Girls, Thirtysomething and The Cosby Show. She has been married to Neil Monaco, a private acting coach since 1994. Film credits include Other People's Money, White Oleander, Identity and The Hot Chick.

  Archibald Marshall Bell (born September 28, 1942) is an American actor. He has appeared in many character roles in movies and television. He is known for roles in A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge (1985), Stand by Me (1986), Twins (1988) and Total Recall (1990).
  He was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where he lived until age 13. His family then moved to Denver, Colorado. Bell attended boarding school at St. Paul's, Concord, New Hampshire, but was expelled. He then went to the Fountain Valley School in Colorado Springs, where he became interested in acting after performing as Elwood Dowd in the play Harvey.
  Bell was discouraged by others, however, who told him he was not a good enough actor, and did not act again for over 20 years. He attended the University of Colorado, majoring in sociology, and served three years in the Army. He eventually became a consultant, teaching business executives to improve their speaking skills.

He portrayed Colonel Adelbert Ames, commander of the 20th Maine Volunteer Infantry Regiment in the movie adaptation of Jeffrey Shaara's Gods and Generals. In 2004 he played Guy Stone, the lead in Straight-Jacket, a fictional 1950s closeted gay filmstar loosely based on Rock Hudson.
  In June 2007, Jeff Daniels' Purple Rose Theatre Company in Chelsea, Michigan, staged the world premiere of Sea of Fools, a farce set in Joseph McCarthy-era Hollywood, written and directed by Letscher. Film director (and infamous HUAC name-giver) Elia Kazan is a character in the play.

  Vince was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He attended Louisiana State University and began acting due to a mistake; a computer error in his high school registration scheduled him in an acting class, a subject which Vince has never left.
