Full story: Officials in Bangkok said on Monday that Thai Immigration police have arrested a cyber crime suspect wanted by the United States for allegedly stealing millions of dollars. Hamza Bendelladj, an Algerian national, was detained on Sunday (January 6) at Bangkok's Suvarnnabhumi airport during his transit flight from Malaysia to Egypt. Bendelladj was arrested following the issue of an arrest warrant by a court in the US state of Georgia. Thai police said Bendelladj, who was produced in handcuffs, smiling broadly, in front of waiting media, was suspected of hacking into private accounts in 217 banks and financial companies world-wide. The hold-up occurred around 3 pm at the Empire Jewelry and Pawn Shop in the 24500 block of Sunnymead Boulevard, just south of the Moreno Valley (60) Freeway, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department. Witnesses told deputies that five men in ski masks and armed with .22- and .25-caliber handguns forced their way into the shop, robbed it and shot a clerk. The wounded man was rushed to Riverside County Regional Medical Center in stable condition. Within 15 minutes of the robbery, the California Highway Patrol began pursuing a charcoal-colored two-door Lexus identified as the getaway vehicle, headed westbound on the 60. The ensuing chase reached speeds of 100 mph going through Ontario and Pomona, according to the CHP. [Friday, Feb 1, 2013] A man wanted on suspicion of drunken driving led police Friday on a slow-speed pursuit, pulled over and started inhaling from balloons in a bizarre standoff that ended with officers smashing his window and pulling him from the vehicle. The suspect was identified by his father, who was at the scene, as 24-year-old Jorge Leonardo Sanchez. His father said Sanchez had problems in the past with nitrous oxide, an inhalant typically known as laughing gas that when huffed creates a feeling of euphoria. Aerial video showed the man inhaling from balloons and then refilling them with some sort of tank inside the car. At 11:12 am, six police officers with guns drawn approached the vehicle. After talking to Sanchez through the passenger-side window, one of the officers fired a low-impact BB round into the car, striking him. Police then swarmed the vehicle. One officer smashed in the driver-side window, opened the door and pulled the man to the ground. One controversial case at the heart of debate over suspects rights involves a former firefighter in England. Garry Mann was arrested in Portugal after football violence broke out at the Euro 2004 championships. He denied being involved, but was charged and sentenced in just 48-hours. What he and rights groups complained about was the lack of legal information, translation and the chance to organise a defence. Mann says he thought he was in court to agree to voluntary deportation, without admitting guilt. But instead he found himself in the middle of a quick trial. He told euronews: "I looked over the interpreter's shoulder and I could see she'd written something in English, which said 'leader of the riot, and that's the first time I knew: that was my charge, leader of a riot.
