350 Riders

The world of 350 is a world of greater health, greater connection to our neighbors, and greater engagement with our world.  One of the best ways to start increasing all those good things?  Bike!

There are so many things that need work in our transportation systems, from better railways to more walkable cities to the reduction of food-kilometers/miles, but few are so easy and empowering as cycling. The universal appeal and accessibility of bicycles around the world was the reason we chose the bike to be the central focus of 2011's global day of action, Moving Planet.

Ways to get to take climate action with bicycles:

  • Hold a group cycling ride through some prominent spots in your area. Consider linking up with the Critical Mass network if appropriate in your town or city.
  • Work with the local transportation agency to create bicycle lanes on the streets, repaint them, or expand them to make cycling safer and easier.
  • Organize a "How are you 'Getting to Work'?" bicycle to work day.  Talk with your company about installing bicycle racks outside and places to change or shower inside.
  • Join Climate Ride California Fall 2011 Climate Ride supports various organizations promoting climate action and biking. Support 350.org by joining our team and supporting us with your fundraising or donating to one of our current riders.
