Craniosynostosis can be either non syndromic craniosynostosis or syndromic craniosynostosis. One such syndrome is called as Crouzon Syndrome. Crouzon syndrome is slightly different from all other syndromes in craniosynostosis. In Crouzon syndrome, babies only have craniofacial deformities, they don't have any problems in the hand. In Crouzon syndrome, more than one growth plates in the brain or skull are fused. So that causes abnormally shaped head, that can cause raised intracranial pressure also very often. Also that causes protrusion of eyeballs. These babies can have flatness in the midface. These babies can have obstructive sleep apnea. They can have an abnormal bite as we commonly call it as a class III malocclusion. All these problems can be there in Crouzon syndrome. What is the treatment of Crouzon syndrome?
