A Small Circle of Friends is a film released in 1980 by United Artists starring Brad Davis, Karen Allen, Shelley Long, Jameson Parker, Peter Mark, and an uncredited Craig Richard Nelson, who played Bell in The Paper Chase, another film set at Harvard. The film follows the life of three students (Davis, Allen, Parker) at Harvard University and Radcliffe College in the 1960s. The soundtrack features instrumental music composed by Jim Steinman.
Some outdoor riot sequences were filmed some 37 miles south of Cambridge at Bridgewater State College in Bridgewater, Massachusetts after Harvard declined to allow the filming on their campus. Other scenes were filmed at MIT and other local colleges.
It was Rob Cohen's only film as director not to be released by either Universal Studios or Columbia Pictures until 2012's Alex Cross.

Circle of Friends may refer to:
The Circle of Friends approach is a method designed to increase the socialization and inclusion of a disabled person with their peers. A Circle of Friends consists of a "focus" child, for whom the group was established, six to eight classroom peers, and an adult facilitator who meet once weekly to socialize and work on specific goals. Most available resources about the Circle of Friends approach are geared toward its use with school-aged children with various difficulties.
Circle of Friends was originally developed in North America to promote the inclusion of people with disabilities and other difficulties in their local communities and in mainstream educational settings. In the past, it was more common for adults with disabilities to be confined to institutions, and for students with special educational needs to be educated in separate schools. The Circle of Friends approach coincides with a shift in societal attitudes toward inclusion of people with disabilities in mainstream settings. It is intended to promote healthy friendships and to create and reinforce positive social experiences.
Circle of Friends is a Lifetime Movie starring Julie Benz that aired on 28 August 2006.
Maggie (Benz) is a 30-year-old New York City career woman who returns to her hometown in Connecticut for a funeral of an old friend. There, she becomes reacquainted with three old high school friends, Joan, Susan, and Emily, as well as her old boyfriend Harry. When Maggie learns that other people whom she knew in school are dying mysteriously, she tries to convince her friends and the skeptic police that they were murders somehow connected to one another and linked to a mysterious death in school. When Maggie herself nearly becomes a victim of the unseen killer, she must dive into her past to uncover some terrible secrets that her friends may be hiding from her, which leads to one or more of them who may be the killer.
"Outside of a Small Circle of Friends" is a song by Phil Ochs, a U.S. protest singer from the 1960s. "Outside of a Small Circle of Friends", which was originally released on Ochs' 1967 album Pleasures of the Harbor, became one of Ochs' most popular songs.
Ochs was inspired to write "Outside of a Small Circle of Friends" by the case of Kitty Genovese, who was stabbed to death on March 13, 1964, outside her home in Queens, New York, while dozens of her neighbors reportedly ignored her cries for help. The song's refrain, and its title, came from a conversation Ochs had with an acquaintance:
The lyrics of "Outside of a Small Circle of Friends" condemn social apathy by relating different situations that should demand action on the part of the narrator, but in each case the narrator evades responsibility by giving a mundane excuse, and invariably concludes that "I'm sure it wouldn't interest anybody outside of a small circle of friends". The five scenarios include a woman who's being stabbed outside the window, an automobile accident that has left a car hanging on a cliff, the terrible living conditions in the city's ghetto, a magazine publisher who's been fined for publishing pornography, and a friend who's been arrested for smoking marijuana and sentenced to thirty years in prison.
Oh, look outside the window
There's a woman being grabbed
They've dragged her to the bushes
And now she's being stabbed
Maybe we should call the cops
And try to stop the pain
But Monopoly is so much fun
I'd hate to blow the game
And I'm sure
It wouldn't interest anybody
Outside of a small circle of friends
Ridin' down the highway
Yes, my back is gettin' stiff
Thirteen cars are piled up
They're hangin' on a cliff
Now maybe we should pull them back
With our towin' chain
But we gotta move and we might get sued
And it looks like it's gonna rain
And I'm sure
It wouldn't interest anybody
Outside of a small circle of friends
Sweatin' in the ghetto
With the colored and the poor
The rats have joined the babies
Who are sleepin' on the floor
Now wouldn't it be a riot
If they really blew their tops?
But they got too much already
And besides we've got the cops
And I'm sure
It wouldn't interest anybody
Outside of a small circle of friends
Oh, there's a dirty paper
Using sex to make a sale
The Supreme Court was so upset
They sent him off to jail
Maybe we should help the fiend
And take away his fine
But we're busy reading Playboy
And the Sunday New York Times
And I'm sure
It wouldn't interest anybody
Outside of a small circle of friends
Smokin' marihuana
Is more fun than drinkin' beer
But a friend of ours was captured
And they gave him thirty years
Maybe we should raise our voices
Ask somebody why
But demonstrations are a drag
Besides we're much too high
And I'm sure
It wouldn't interest anybody
Outside of a small circle of friends
Oh, look outside the window
There's a woman being grabbed
They've dragged her to the bushes
And now she's being stabbed
Maybe we should call the cops
And try to stop the pain
But Monopoly is so much fun
I'd hate to blow the game
And I'm sure
It wouldn't interest anybody
