A theatre director or stage director is a practitioner in the theatre field who oversees and orchestrates the mounting of a theatre production (a play, an opera, a musical, or a devised piece of work) by unifying various endeavours and aspects of production. The director's function is to ensure the quality and completeness of theatre production and to lead the members of the creative team into realising their artistic vision for it. The director therefore collaborates with a team of creative individuals and other staff, coordinating research, stagecraft, costume design, props, lighting design, acting, set design, stage combat, and sound design for the production. If the production he or she is mounting is a new piece of writing or a (new) translation of a play, the director may also work with the playwright or translator. In contemporary theatre, after the playwright, the director is generally the primary visionary, making decisions on the artistic concept and interpretation of the play and its staging. Different directors occupy different places of authority and responsibility, depending on the structure and philosophy of individual theatre companies. Directors utilize a wide variety of techniques, philosophies, and levels of collaboration.

Rakhi Sawant (Hindi: राखी सावंत) (born on 25 November 1978) is an Indian dancer, Hindi film and television actress, model and television talk show host. She has appeared in many Hindi films and few Kannada, Marathi, Telugu and Tamil films in roles commonly attributed to item girls. She has converted to Christianity.
Rakhi was born as Neeru Bheda to Jaya Bheda. who married Sawant, a police constable at Worli Police Station, and gave her children her second husband's name Sawant. Rakhi attended Goklibai High School in the Vile Parle suburb of Mumbai and later studied at Mithibai College. She is the sister of film director Rakesh Sawant and former actress Usha Sawant.
In 1997, Rakhi debuted with the unnoticed film Agnnichakra as Ruhi Sawant. She continued acting in some low-budget Bollywood films. She did small roles & dance numbers as a junior artist in films like Joru Ka Ghulam, Jis Desh Mein Ganga Rehta Hain & Yeh Raaste Hain Pyaar Ke and went unnoticed.
In 2003, she auditioned for an item number in the Bollywood movie, Chura Liyaa Hai Tumne. She auditioned about four times before being finally selected for her breakthrough item number, "Mohabbat Hai Mirchi", composed by Himesh Reshammiya. She also bagged a small role in the movie for which she gained visibility. After that, Rakhi acted in small roles in some more films including Masti & Main Hoon Na

Eric Simonson (born June 27, 1960, Milwaukee, Wisconsin) is an American writer and director in theatre, film and opera. He was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Direction of a Musical in 1993 for The Song of Jacob Zulu.
Simonson was born in Milwaukee but grew up on a farm in the small town of Eagle. After graduating with a B.A. in Theatre from Lawrence University, he moved to Madison, Wisconsin for a short period, where he worked with the then fledgling Ark Repertory Theatre. He moved to Chicago in 1983, where he helped found Lifeline Theatre, and eventually worked with the Steppenwolf Theatre Company. He became a member of the theatre’s ensemble in 1993.
Simonson now lives in Los Angeles, but often works throughout the United States. In 2004 he married theatre producer Susan Raab; she died of breast cancer in 2006, aged 37. They had one child.
Simonson is the writer (with Jeffrey Hatcher) of Work Song: Three Views of Frank Lloyd Wright, which was commissioned by Steppenwolf Theatre Company and Milwaukee Repertory Theatre, and was subsequently was produced across the United States. His film A Note of Triumph: The Golden Age of Norman Corwin won the 2005 Academy Award for Short Subject Documentary. He also directed the premiere of Ricky Ian Gordon and Michael Kories opera The Grapes of Wrath at Minnesota Opera in 2007. In 2007 he was invited to join the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

Plot: A poor but beautiful girl named Jeanne takes part in a beauty contest but fails to be crowned its queen. Although feeling somewhat guilty, Jeanne openly relishes her triumph, which upsets her companion who does not understand her attitude. Sal ends up leaving her, a commotion she will never get over. This film was conceived by one man -- its Director Victor Nord. Victor came to Israel from Moscow in 1972, bringing in his suitcase all his worldly possessions: a couple of paintings and drawings by his late father, Soviet Stage Director Benedict Nord. Also in his small suitcase was the technically mediocre mono recording of the Rodion Shchedrin's Carmen Suite. (At that time we were all enchanted by this music. Come to think about it we still are...) With fellow Soviet émigré, Mixing Editor, Dima Ozhekhov, Victor 'took' the recording apart, and started experimenting with a concept that was, at the time, relatively unknown in Israel - 'Quadraphonic Sound'. The first shoot was planned near Azor, just outside Tel-Aviv, at a graveyard for the damaged Soviet tanks and armoured personnel cars, captured during the Yom-Kippur War. For this shoot I was charged with the task... of bringing a saucer, which, in accordance with the long-established tradition, Victor wanted to break 'for good luck'. Unfortunately, I grabbed the first available plate, which I saw at our kitchen -- unbreakable Pyrex...
As, much to my chagrin, Victor was unsuccessfully trying to break it, I realised that my cinema career was about to finish before it even started. In the unbearable heat of the Israeli khamsin, cold sweat ran down my spine...
'Let's have one last go', I meekly suggested to Victor. We joined our hands and together threw the saucer against the body of the Soviet tank. The tank did withstand our assault; the plate did not. The very next second we were showered with hundreds of tiny glass shards, as the saucer had finally met its fate hitting the rusting armoured body of the military trophy.
At that moment, even before the camera started rolling, I realised that this was going to be one of my life's favourite movies...

How a Director Stages and Blocks a Scene
How a director stages a scene dramatically affects the story - in this experiment at YouTube Space LA, we take a boilerplate police detective script and shoot it five ways with five different types of blocking to demonstrate how direction and acting can really change the feel of a scene. This experiment will take the exact same script shooting the scene using standard over the shoulder back and forth - advanced over the shoulder with business, a One Take shot, a Romantic comedy blocking and a Zucker Brothers style comedy. -

She has served on the Eastman School of Music faculty. In 2014-15, Alison will be Resident Assistant Director of the Minnesota Opera. There is some annoying microphone noise in certain sections. He studied illustration at the Academy of Art in San Francisco, focusing on comic and children’s book illustration. Soon after graduating, he began at Lucas Learning as concept artist on children’s video games. Four years later, he joined Double Fine productions as Art Director on such games as the critically acclaimed Psychonauts and Brutal Legend. Alongside this career in games, he has published numerous comics and created paintings that have appeared in galleries and publications around the world. Some of his most notable projects include the GREAT SHOWDOWNS series, “Igloo Head and Tree Head” series, Double Fine Action Comics, Hickee Comics, the children’s book’s "Zombie In Love" and "East Dragon", "West Dragon", and "Psychonauts" and "Brutal Legend" with Double Fine Productions. The book "Amazing Everything: The Art of Scott" collects many of his paintings over the past few years. Scott lives in New York City.

His sculptures, video installations and animations have been exhibited internationally, including solo exhibitions in New York City, San Francisco, and Chicago, and screenings in Spike and Mike's Sick and Twisted Animation Festival. He also has over ten years of professional experience in television art direction, post-production, animation and 3D game art, and was the production designer for the independent film 'MAKING REVOLUTION'. He most recently was Associate Professor at the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design, where he taught animation and motion graphics for five years and helped establish a Time Based Media BFA program.
