How to Use a Guitar Amplifier
www.secretguitarteacher.com How to play the Amplifier Two questions we get asked most frequently about guitar amps are 1. How do I get a high level of sustain or overdrive from my amp without necessarily turning it up too loud and 2. What am I supposed to do with the tone or EQ controls on the amp. In this lesson we shall address both of these subjects. First let's look at setting up your amp to get the most sustain at reasonable volume. Now one difficulty about discussing amplifiers is that, manufacturers differ in their choice of labels for the controls on different makes of amplifier. One manufacturer will label a control 'Volume' another 'Gain' We also get 'Boost', 'Level' 'Pre-gain' Post-Gain' 'Overdrive' 'Distortion' 'Input volume' 'Output volume' and 'Master volume' -- all labels on knobs that basically do the same thing -- they allow you to control the amplitude of the signal passing through the circuitry of the amplifier at some given point. Added to this complication, some amps have multiple channels and some even multiple inputs. Now, if you have got more than one channel or input choose one that is labelled 'High Gain', 'Overdrive' 'Distortion' or some such label indicating more power. Avoid channels labelled 'Clean' or 'Low Gain' Now look at the control panel of your amp and locate the input socket -- this should be where your guitar lead is plugged into the amp. Whatever labels are used on your amp we'll call the one closest to the input socket GAIN and the ...

How to Adjust Settings on a Guitar Amplifier
www.creativeguitarstudio.comAndrew Wasson of Creative Guitar Studio answers a viewers question... Q: I would like to ask you how to set up amplifiers for different purposes. I use a Fender Stratocaster and an Epiphone hollow body electric guitar I use a Fender Deluxe 50 Watts all tube amp. I also have a Line 6 POD which I use for effects. Can you explain to me how to approach setting my amp bass, treble, middle, presence, master levels. 1). In order to get a clean bright jazzy sound like George Benson, or Wes Montgomery with my Epiphone? 2). To get a clean country style rhythm sound with my Stratocaster? 3). To get a distorted or overdrive sound for a guitar solo similar to; for example Foreigner, or David Gilmore? 4). Also would be interested in other sounds such as metal. - Thanks, David, Queens NY. A: Pursuing sounds between; amps, guitars and effects units can be a long and often frustrating journey. And, just when you think you've got that perfect sound at home... You'll get to the gig and your amp could mysteriously sound terrible. In this video I will discuss various common settings for; Country, Jazz, Rock and Metal. The complete lesson article for this video will be available on the Creative Guitar Studio website shortly. Fender Super Sonic 22 guitar amplifier demo with American Standard Stratocaster
www.fender.com The new version of the Supersonic from Fender now has a 6V6 tube power amp section. Based on the Deluxe Reverb power section, it has a very clean tone paired with an ultra smooth overdrive tone...sounds like an advertisement, no? Well...it ain't! I just thought everyone should hear the tones this bad boy can get.

Worlds Loudest Solar Powered Guitar Amplifier
I give to you the world's loudest solar powered guitar amp. 230 watts max of solar modules were used to power the Marshall stack. Hardware not show in the video are the MPPT charge controller, Deep Cycle Battery, and 1500 watt pure sine wave power inverter needed to convert the DC voltages to AC necessary and to run the Marshall JCM900 100Watt Hi Gain amplifier. The amp settings are set to 10 in the power section, and 20 in the preamp section (diode circuit for additionally clipping hence the value 20). The amp uses four 5881 (ala 6l6) tubes in the power section and three ECC83 (ala 12ax7) in the preamp section. I'm sure this terrified the squirrels and deer into a certain frenzy. It most certainly shook the ground and grabbed the attention of motorist passing by. This video was shot near Brown's Camp off of HWY 6 outside of Portland Oregon. Far away from Johnny Law man and the sound restrictions associated with modern civilizations. No citations can be written for excessive noise in the middle of a state forest.

1979 Dumble Overdrive Deluxe guitar amp
This is a 1979 Dumble Overdrive Deluxe combo amp. It's an amalgamation of all the ingredients that parallel the Overdrive Special, which is thought by many guitarists to be the ultimate 'Holy Grail' of guitar amps. Essentially this amp is a Fender Deluxe Reverb chassis with custom circuits by Dumble to achieve an other worldly overdrive tone. This amp is very rare and is one of only 2-3 known Overdrive Deluxes built by Dumble. It is the only Overdrive Deluxe (and one of only a handful of Dumble amps) to have reverb and tremolo which possibly makes it one of a kind. The audio was recorded by an internal mic in an inexpensive digital camera, but sounds remarkably good for what it is. In person, this amp is absolutely stunning when overdriven, and has the most luscious tremolo and reverb you are likely to hear.

iPad Garageband guitar amps demo
All amps included in Garageband for iPad played with random riffs. I had some difficulty to find info, demo and video about those modeled amp. I'm using an USB mixer connected with the Camera Connection Kit. With a Mac and Amplitube this mixer has very nice tone, so i consider this a good start point even if work natively on 16 bit only. Results is not bad, but is neither as good as better modeled amp today. Maybe with Apogee Jam something can change, in better, but from now i honestly expected a more dynamic, touch sensitive and realistic behaviour. Hoping this video can be useful for other musicians seeking for this great tablet; Garageband for iPad is intuitive, easy way to do your own music with few minutes, but is not solution for any musical need.

Guitar Amp Microphone Test
First test made with an Orange Tiny Terror 15W all tube amp driving an Orange cabined loaded with a Celestion V30. The guitar used is a Charvel mod 6 with Floyd Rose and a Seymour Duncan Jeff Beck humbucker. I used an 8ch preamplifier: ELBERG MP8. The test is done with: GrooveTubes 1a, Shure SM57, Sennheiser e906 and MD421. No compression or EQ has been used whatsoever. AD converters from a MOTU 8pre. Ps. The 57, the e906 and one of the 1a are at the same distance from the center of the cone (something around middle way between center and edge). The other 1a is at the center and the MD421 is on the edge of the speaker. These positions are ones I like best from each mic. About the GT 1a: www.soundonsound.com
