  The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) is the agency of the United States government that is responsible for the nation's civilian space program and for aeronautics and aerospace research. Since February 2006, NASA's mission statement has been to "pioneer the future in space exploration, scientific discovery and aeronautics research." On September 14, 2011, NASA announced that it had selected the design of a new Space Launch System that it said would take the agency's astronauts farther into space than ever before and provide the cornerstone for future human space exploration efforts by the U.S.
  NASA was established by the National Aeronautics and Space Act on July 29, 1958, replacing its predecessor, the National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics (NACA). The agency became operational on October 1, 1958. U.S. space exploration efforts have since been led by NASA, including the Apollo moon-landing missions, the Skylab space station, and later the Space Shuttle. Currently, NASA is supporting the International Space Station and is overseeing the development of the Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle and Commercial Crew vehicles. The agency is also responsible for the Launch Services Program (LSP) which provides oversight of launch operations and countdown management for unmanned NASA launches.

  Buzz Aldrin
  Buzz Aldrin, Sc.D. (born Edwin Eugene Aldrin, Jr., January 20, 1930) is an American mechanical engineer, retired United States Air Force pilot and astronaut who was the lunar module pilot on Apollo 11, the first manned lunar landing in history. On July 20, 1969, he was the second human being to set foot on the moon, following mission commander Neil Armstrong.
  Aldrin was born in Glen Ridge, New Jersey, to Edwin Eugene Aldrin, Sr., a career military man, and his wife Marion (née Moon). He is of Scottish, Swedish, and German ancestry. After graduating from Montclair High School in 1946, Aldrin turned down a full scholarship offer from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and went to the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. The nickname "Buzz" originated in childhood: the younger of his two elder sisters mispronounced "brother" as "buzzer", and this was shortened to Buzz. Aldrin made it his legal first name in 1988.
  Aldrin graduated third in his class at West Point in 1951 with a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering. He was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force and served as a jet fighter pilot during the Korean War. He flew 66 combat missions in F-86 Sabres and shot down two Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-15 aircraft. The June 8, 1953, issue of LIFE magazine featured gun camera photos taken by Aldrin of one of the Russian pilots ejecting from his damaged aircraft.

  Carmen Argenziano
  Carmen Antimo Argenziano (born 27 October 1943) is an American actor who has appeared in over 50 movies and around 100 television movies or episodes.
  Argenziano was born in Sharon, Pennsylvania, the son of Elizabeth Stella (née Falvo) and Joseph Guy Argenziano, who was a restaurateur. One of his best known roles is as the recurring character Jacob Carter in the television series Stargate SG-1. He is also a lifetime member of the Actors Studio and was awarded the Los Angeles Drama Critics' Circle Award for his performance as Jack Delasante in Thomas Babe's A Prayer for My Daughter. Argenziano is often cast as overbearing authority figures. He was recently cast as one of the potential fellowship candidates in House M.D.—albeit as a fake doctor—but was eliminated.
  Argenziano has three children. Two boys, Tony and Joseph Argenziano. He also has one step daughter.
  He recently guest-starred in Criminal Minds. He was in the season 4 episode "Demonology" where he portrayed Father Paul Silvano, an insane priest carrying out illegal exorcisms which he believed were happening as a result of God's will.

  Dennis Lipscomb (born March 1, 1942) is an American actor.
  Lipscomb's first feature film was Union City (1980). From the early 1980s to the 1990s, Lipscomb appeared in key roles in various motion pictures including Eyes of Fire (1983), WarGames (1983), The Day After (1983), A Soldier's Story (1984), Amazing Grace and Chuck (1987), Sister, Sister (1987), The First Power (1990) and Under Siege (1992). Between co-starring in these films Lipscomb also took lead parts in independent features such as Eyes of Fire (1984) and Retribution (1987). In more recent years, Lipscomb has guest starred on television commercials and shows, including T.J. Hooker, and Wiseguy (1987; CBS) as Sid Royce/Elvis Prim.

  Neil Armstrong
  Neil Alden Armstrong (born August 5, 1930) is an American former astronaut, test pilot, aerospace engineer, university professor, United States Naval Aviator, and the first person to set foot upon the Moon.
  Before becoming an astronaut, Armstrong was in the United States Navy and served in the Korean War. After the war, he served as a test pilot at the National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics (NACA) High-Speed Flight Station, now known as the Dryden Flight Research Center, where he flew over 900 flights in a variety of aircraft. As a research pilot, Armstrong served as project pilot on the F-100 Super Sabre A and C variants, F-101 Voodoo, and the Lockheed F-104A Starfighter. He also flew the Bell X-1B, Bell X-5, North American X-15, F-105 Thunderchief, F-106 Delta Dart, B-47 Stratojet, KC-135 Stratotanker, and was one of eight elite pilots involved in the paraglider research vehicle program (Paresev). He graduated from Purdue University and the University of Southern California.
  A participant in the U.S. Air Force's Man In Space Soonest and X-20 Dyna-Soar human spaceflight programs, Armstrong joined the NASA Astronaut Corps in 1962. His first spaceflight was the NASA Gemini 8 mission in 1966, for which he was the command pilot, becoming one of the first U.S. civilians to fly in space.^{[citation needed]} On this mission, he performed the first manned docking of two spacecraft with pilot David Scott. Armstrong's second and last spaceflight was as mission commander of the Apollo 11 moon landing mission on July 20, 1969. On this mission, Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin descended to the lunar surface and spent 2½ hours exploring while Michael Collins remained in orbit in the Command Module. Armstrong was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by Richard Nixon along with Collins and Aldrin, the Congressional Space Medal of Honor by President Jimmy Carter in 1978, and the Congressional Gold Medal in 2009.

  Norberto Barba (born September 12, 1963) is an American television and film director. He is known for his work on the Law & Order franchise.
  A native of the Bronx, New York, Barba studied at Regis High School in New York City. He also spent two years at Columbia University and later went to USC School of Cinematic Arts. After earning his degree, he became a director fellow at the American Film Institute, where he earned his postgraduate degree in film production.
  Barba made his directorial debut in 1992 with the short film Chavez Ravine, which tells the story of a father and son struggling to defend their home against city developers planning to build Dodger Stadium in the mid 1950s. In addition, he directed Blue Tiger (1994) and Solo (1996), before specializing as a director/producer for television programs.
  His television credits include series such as New York Undercover, Level 9, Resurrection Blvd., American Dreams, CSI: Miami, Numb3rs, CSI: NY, Blade: The Series, Fringe, Law & Order: Criminal Intent, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Threshold, Kojak and Medical Investigation, as well in Apollo 11: The Movie (1996).

  William Mesnik (born 1953) is an American character actor, musician and playwright who appeared in numerous films and television series of the 1990s and 2000s.
  He started his career as a singer-songwriter in the mid-1970s, playing in such Greenwich Village coffee houses as Paul Colby's The Other End.
  He honed his playwriting skills as a regular contributor to The West Bank Downstairs Theater Bar repertory during the 80s, then went on to create several genre-bending musical theater pieces, including his music-drama about folk singers during the blacklist Three Songs (Fremont Centre Theatre, 1997, revived in 2002), garnering "Critic's Choice" in the Los Angeles Times and a "Best Ensemble" Nomination (LA Weekly Theater Awards).
  In 2000 he released an album, Campaign Songs, as an accompaniment to his drama Muckrakers: an evening of presidential campaign songs and family dysfunction, which debuted at FCT on the eve of the United States presidential election.
  A graduate of the Yale School of Drama, Mesnik's theatrical resume encompasses Broadway (La Bête; Oh! Calcutta!), Off-Broadway (Modigliani; A Weekend Near Madison; Smoke On The Mountain; The Good Times Are Killing Me; The Rimers of Eldritch - and others), major regional venues such as Yale Rep, The Old Globe, McCarter Theatre, The Kennedy Center, and Actors Theater of Louisville, and European-American collaborative productions of Shakespeare's King Lear and Chekhov’s Ivanov (Moscow Art Theatre). In 2002, he was nominated for an Ovation Award for his role as Holofernes in Shakespeare's Love's Labours Lost,produced by A Noise Within.
