Martin James Guptill (born 30 September 1986 in Auckland) is a New Zealand cricketer. He is a top-order batsman and has represented New Zealand in different age groups.

Guptill attended Avondale College and played in the school's 1st XI cricket team. He was also a prefect in his final year.

At the age 14, Guptill was involved in a crown forklift truck accident and lost three toes. (This fact was revealed to the world by provincial teammate Scott Styris whilst Styris was commentating on Guptill's ODI debut. This has since earned Guptill the nickname "Two Toes" within the Black Caps team.) When Guptill was in the hospital, his father asked Jeff Crowe if a New Zealand player could visit him. Stephen Fleming, the then New Zealand captain, visited him at the hospital the next day.

Guptill first represented New Zealand in the Under-19 Cricket World Cup held in Sri Lanka in 2006.

In domestic cricket, he plays for Auckland Aces (he plays in Auckland's club cricket competition for Suburbs New Lynn). In first class cricket, he scored 99 on first-class debut. In January 2011 it was announced that Guptill had signed for Derbyshire in England. He was to take over from Australian player Usman Khawaja for the second half of the County Championship & CB40 season and the whole of the T20.

Philip Joseph "Phil" Hughes (born June 24, 1986) is an American right-handed baseball pitcher who has played 5 seasons in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the New York Yankees. He was the Yankees' first-round pick in the 2004 Major League Baseball Draft.

During his time in the Yankees' minor-league system, Hughes became one of the most highly anticipated prospects in baseball. He debuted in the Major Leagues in 2007, and quickly demonstrated his potential with a bid for a no-hitter in only his 2nd MLB start. However, injury cut short his start, as well as significant portions of his 2007 and 2008 seasons. Hughes began 2009 in the starting rotation, but after struggling, he was converted to a relief pitcher for the remainder of the season, where he excelled as a setup man in a World Series-winning season. He returned to the rotation in 2010, winning 18 games and earning his first All-Star selection. Arm fatigue cost Hughes nearly half of the season in 2011.

His pitching repertoire consists of a four-seam fastball, cutter, curveball, and changeup.

Ravichandran Ashwin  pronunciation (help·info) (born 17 September 1986) is an Indian national cricket team player, who plays for India and Tamil Nadu cricket team. He is a right-handed batsman and right arm off-break bowler. He is the only bowler of recent times apart from Ajantha Mendis of Sri Lanka to bowl the carrom ball. His bowling shows a lot of variation.

Ashwin was born into a Hindu Brahmin family. He lives in West Mambalam,Chennai. He did his schooling in Padma Seshadri Bala Bhavan and St. Bede's.He did his Engineering (B.Tech IT) in SSNCE. He married Prithi Narayanan on 13 November 2011..Ashwin’s father Ravichandran was a fast bowler who played competitive cricket in Tamil Nadu.

Ashwin made his debut against Andhra Pradesh in Twenty20 cricket. He plays first-class cricket for Tamil Nadu and has played in the Duleep Trophy for South Zone. He was nicknamed "Dada" during his U-19 days while touring Dharamsala.He has recently married.

He plays for Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League. He made his ODI debut against Sri Lanka on 6 June 2010. He scored 38 runs in a losing game.

Brendon Barrie McCullum (born 27 September 1981 in Dunedin) is a New Zealand international cricketer, who plays for the Otago Volts at provincial level. He is a wicket-keeper, as well as an aggressive batsman who opens in One-day Internationals and is known for his fast scoring rate. His brother Nathan McCullum is also a first-class and international cricketer at provincial level, and their father Stuart McCullum was a long-serving first-class player for Otago. Both Brendon and Nathan attended King's High School, Dunedin.

McCullum also played for Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League in the first three; but in 2010, he was signed in by Kochi Tuskers Kerala. He scored 158 not out in the inaugural match of the competition on 18 April 2008. The innings is currently the world highest score by a batsman in a Twenty20 match.

He also has the ability to play the Dilscoop, which involves the batsman squatting down and scooping deliveries back over the wicketkeeper's head. Playing this shot in a Twenty20 International match on 28 February 2010, against Australia, he managed to hit Shaun Tait for two sixes in an over back over Brad Haddin's head and can also execute reverse sweep well.

Jonathan Neil "Jonty" Rhodes (born 27 July 1969) is a former South African Test and One Day International cricketer who played for the South African cricket team between 1992 and 2003.

Rhodes was born in Pietermaritzburg, Natal Province, South Africa. As a right-handed batsman he was noted for his quick running, however he was especially noted for his fielding, particularly catching, ground fielding and throwing from his most common position of backward point. A report prepared by Cricinfo in late 2005 showed that since the 1999 Cricket World Cup, he had effected the ninth highest number of run outs in ODI cricket of any fieldsman, with the third highest success rate.

During his career he also played club cricket for the University of Natal in Pietermaritzburg and first-class cricket for Gloucestershire County Cricket Club, KwaZulu-Natal and Natal. Rhodes retired from Test cricket in 2000, and from one day cricket in 2003 after an injury during the 2003 Cricket World Cup.

Rhodes also represented South Africa at hockey, and was chosen as part of the 1992 Olympic Games squad to go to Barcelona; however, the squad did not qualify to go to the tournament. He was also called up for trials to play in the 1996 Olympics but was ruled out by a hamstring injury.
