Flooding at St Ives Cambridgeshire
The River Great Ouse in flood at St Ives, Cambridgeshire, England, videoed by Nigel Pennick on November 26, 2012. The video begins with an overview of the flooding seen from a bus on the bypass viaduct. The height of the water is shown against the medieval bridge, but the quayside swans and black-headed gulls are unaffected by the strong current. The flood plain of the Great Ouse is seen completely underwater, reflecting a characteristic Fenland winter sky. The Dolphin Hotel, built on an embankment and stilts to raise it above flood level, is seen surrounded by water, and a driver attempts to get his car out of the parking place into the flood.

Seal's remarkable journey after travelling 50 MILES inland by swimming through flood water
A seal has stunned experts by swimming through flood water to find its way into a land-locked lake 50 miles from the coast.
The wayward creature was spotted by walkers at the RPSB's Fen Drayton Lakes, near St Ives, in Camridgeshire, this week.
It is thought the adventurous seal swam up the Great River Ouse, from King's Lynn, Norfolk, and then glided into the nature reserve through the high flood waters.
And one witness captured the moment the seal clambered over flood defences from the river into a water-logged field.
Graham Elliott, area manager for the RSPB, said: 'It would be the first time this has happened to my knowledge, that one has made its way into the lake.
'The floods normally come from ground water rather than the river and so, if there is one, it must have worked its way up in a ditch or something like that.

Seal swimming in flooded Cambridgeshire fens
A keen birdwatcher at first thought he was watching a dog struggling to escape from floodwater in a Cambridgeshire field, but on closer inspection he realised it was a seal making its way through the flooded field 50 miles from the nearest coastline.
Robjn filmed the seal's efforts to get out of the ditch close to the Great Ouse River, near St Ives in the Cambridgeshire Fens.
He said it was not the first time a seal had been spotted away from its natural habitat but this one had made it ten miles further inland than previous incidents.

Peckover House - Georgian House & Gardens in Cambridgeshire - Claire & Steve are your 'guides'
Peckover House is a beautiful early Georgian town-house in Wisbech Cambridgeshire. Originally built by a rich banking family, it it's latter days in the 19th Century it was inhabited by by the Lord Lieutenant of Cambridgeshire, the Queens ceremonial representative of the County. The house itself is quite unremarkable from the front, it looks like a very typical large red bricked Georgian town house, but at the back of the house is a vast beautifully laid out garden with an incredible array of flowers and trees that takes you to another world.
The house and garden is open to the public and is managed by the National Trust. My friend Claire and I spent a wonderful sunny Saturday afternoon at the house and this video is a summary of our day. We even manage to get some of our facts right about the house! I hope you enjoy the video - if you do, please give it a 'thumbs up'.
