NASA JPL Robotic Microspines
NASA JPL researchers present a 250-mm diameter omni-directional anchor that uses an array of claws with suspension flexures, called microspines, designed to grip rocks on the surfaces of asteroids and comets and to grip the cliff faces and lava tubes of Mars. Part of the paper, "Gravity-Independent Mobility and Drilling on Natural Rock Using Microspines," by A. Parness et al., presented at the 2012 IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation.

What It's Like to Land On Mars
This video steps viewers through a portion of the choreography needed to land NASA's Curiosity rover on Mars. It starts with a computer simulation from NASA's Eyes on the Solar System program and uses actual images from Curiosity's Mars Descent Imager. It ends with a high-resolution color image from Curiosity's Mast Camera.

More than 20 years after he found a passion to live for, Torsten Stenzel still has the same, relentless stamina for music. The mastermind behind classics such as 'The Awakening', 'On The Beach' and 'Addicted' proudly presents 'Islanders'. The brand new York album that'll show you that this pioneer still knows how to walk today's musical landscape. York was one of the first names to adopt the trance sound. In the early 90's, he worked on projects such as Taucher, DJ Sakin & Friends and Suspicious, selling over 3 million records and earning 10 Gold and Platinum Awards with his sales. Completing his dream, was the launch of his very own Planet Love Records. Set up in 1992, it kick-started a new era for EDM and became a realm for those in search of quality music. In November 2011, Planet Love joined forces with Armada Music, offering a great opportunity for York to enjoy a fresh start. And so he did. CASSINI MISSION
This is the perfect opportunity for a Carl Sagan quote:
"Somewhere, something incredible is waiting to be known."
The footage in this little film was captured by the hardworking men and women at NASA and The European Space Agency with the Cassini Imaging Science System. If you're interested in learning more about Cassini and the on-going Cassini Solstice Mission, check it out at NASA's website:

Not-for-profit animated IMAX film in early production by a single filmmaker. Visit the site to make a tax-deductible contribution to support the film. I hope to present this clip at the international IMAX show (GSCA Expo) next month.
I'm very excited to present the first test from "In Saturn's Rings" that actually represents real footage in progress from the film. Camera moves are still being tweaked and this is cropped version as IMAX-sized stuff does not play well online. But thanks to the new version of Adobe After Effects, "Outside In" can be made as I have always envisioned.
Much thanks to everyone who has supported and contributed to this. This is the beginning, just a taste of incredible things to come.
This is fly-through of this photograph - http://photojournal.jpl.nasa.gov/catalog/PIA11141 - only a little brightness and contrast has been made to balance the moons with saturn's body. Do note that several thousand layers of many Cassini photographs were animated to make the fly-through work without any 3D CGI. The saturation is off due to lack of Flash Player ICM support.
This is still a work-in-progress and it's an art film, not a science film, but as new image data comes down I will tweak this shot for improved accuracy.

'Curiosity' - Mission to Mars
Congratulations Curiosity on your superb landing at Gale Crater, Planet Mars, your new home, my heart skipped a beat for a few moments!!! Please follow Nasa’s Mars Science Laboratory Mission at http://mars.jpl.nasa.gov/msl/ for the latest news and amazing stuff :)
The Nasa rover called ‘Curiosity’ has finally arrived at Gale Crater on planet Mars after a 154 million miles journey, hurtling towards the Mars at over 13,000 mph. The main aim of Curiosity is to see whether the environment of Mars once held the ingredients of life and so Curiosity will drill into the rocks and soil and analyse samples. It is one of the most fascinating events of our recent times and a giant step forward in space exploration, enjoy :)

Many thanks to the hard work and true good spirit of the people of NASA and all those that support it or are simply curious about our existence and life elsewhere, peace :)
