Geocentric Movement of the Solar System and the Hindu Lunar Calendar
This animation illustrates the Hindu lunar months (Masa) using the year 2013 as an example. The animation starts with Apr 14th 2013 which is the solar New Year. When the Moon is in conjunction with the Sun, it is New. When the Moon is in opposition to the Sun, it is Full. Hindu Masas start immediately after a New Moon but derive their names from the Nakshatra in which the Full Moon falls. This animation pauses at every Full Moon (Pournami) to illustrate this point. The coordinates of the Nakshatras are elaborated to assist in correct observation of the position of the Moon. The period from New Moon to Full Moon is Shukla Paksha (waxing fortnight). That from Full Moon to New Moon is Krishna Paksha (wanning fortnight).

The Truth Must Be Told -The Hindu Newspaper Editorial -2013-02-22
New photographs of a 12-year-old Balachandran Prabakaran in the apparent custody of Sri Lankan security personnel in the final days of the war against the Tamil Tigers have caused widespread anguish and outrage, and understandably so. Last year, when another photograph showing the body of the LTTE chief Prabakaran's son with visible bullet wounds on his chest surfaced, Sri Lanka's explanation that the boy died in crossfire seemed plausible. But the photographs obtained by Channel 4 Television, in which Balachandran is seen sitting inside a sandbagged military enclosure, suggest an entirely different story of how the boy's life ended, one that underscores other allegations of war crimes against Sri Lanka. Colombo has dismissed the photographs as "concocted lies, half-truths and speculations" intended to embarrass the country at the forthcoming Human Rights Council session in Geneva. If that is so, it is in Sri Lanka's own interest to begin immediately an honest and credible investigation to find out how Balachandran died, and make the findings public. If the young boy was indeed in an army bunker, as the photographs indicate, the chain of custody can easily be established and those responsible for his eventual killing in cold blood must be identified and handed down exemplary punishment. For its part, Channel 4 says that experts consulted by it have established the three photographs were taken with the same camera. It has also openly said that its reason for releasing the ...

Geocentric Movement of the Solar System and the Hindu Solar Calendar
This video illustrates the apparent geocentric movement of the Sun, the Moon and five major planets around the Earth over a period of one Hindu solar year (14 Apr, 2013 - 14 Apr, 2014). This video is best viewed at the 1080p setting and on full screen mode. Key points to note are: The Hindu solar years starts with the Sun at the start of Mesha (Aries). This point is 24 days after the vernal equinox, due to the precession of the equinoxes. In other words, circa 200 AD the start of Mesha and the vernal equinox coincided. Subsequently the vernal equinox has changed position. while the start of Mesha has not. Each Rashi is spread over 2 Hours on this grid (there are 12 Rashis but this grid is divided into 24 Hours) The equator circle intersects the ecliptic at the vernal and autumnal equinox points. The Sun crosses: * the 6h point on Jun 21 (summer solstice) and starts its southward movement (Dakshinayana) * the 12h point on Sep 22 (autumnal equinox) * the 18h point of Dec 21 (winter solstice) and starts its northward movement (Uttarayana) * the 0h point on Mar 20, 2014 (vernal equinox) When the Sun is "inside" the equator circle (for six months), ie from vernal to autumnal equinox, it is overhead the northern hemisphere. This period is referred to as Devayana (colorfully referred to as a "the day of the Gods") in Hindu astronomy. When the Sun is "outside" the equator circle (for the next six months), it is overhead the southern hemisphere. This period is referred to as ...

Help the People of Bangladesh
In 2012 I went to India to investigate the plight of the Hindus in West Bengal. I conducted hours of Interviews and on-sight investigations and visited the locations of many incidents of Human Rights Violations against Hindus. I conducted programs on the Indo-Bangladeshi Border and participated in rallies and press conferences. This video represents only 2 of the interviews, (with members of the Bishwas Family), that I conducted but it provides an insight into the situation. A photo gallery of my visits is available here: To Help the People at the Bangladesh Borderline www.facebook.com Boral Ancient Seat of Bengal's Vedic Empire www.facebook.com One day in Nadia www.facebook.com Thousands of People have fled Bangladesh over the last 40 years. Mostly Hindu and Buddhist, they are refugees forgotten and ignored by the world at large. Neither the UN, nor the Indian Governments of India and West Bengal have organized any relief efforts to uplift these people from their squalor. Living in a political state of illegality they are citizens of no nation. Efforts to rehabilitate or advocate on their behalf are falsely portrayed as examples of Hindu radicalism. Many of these refugees exist fearful of expulsion back to their homelands of Bangladesh. Having fled murder, rape, terror and land loss, these people prefer the relative safety of India over the lush fertile lands of their ancestors. Many of these people are survivors of one history's most horrific holocausts. Intentionally ...

Aalaya Darisanam - Vinayagar Chathurthi Special
Ganesha Chaturthi also known as Vinayaka Chaturthi, is the Hindu festival celebrated on the occasion of birthday of Lord Ganesha the son of Shiva and Parvati, who is believed to bestow his presence on earth for all his devotees in the duration of this festival. It is the day Shiva declared his son Ganesha as superior to all the gods, barring Vishnu, Lakshmi, Shiva and Parvati. Ganesha is widely worshipped as the god of wisdom, prosperity and good fortune and traditionally invoked at the beginning of any new venture or at the start of travel.

Boat Tour Rameswaram படகுச்சுற்றுலா இராமேஸ்வரம்
The Boating view of Rameswaram temple and the Rameswaram Island படகுச்சுற்றுலா இராமேஸ்வரம் December 2012. Rameswaram, (also spelt as Ramesvaram or Rameshwaram) is a town and a third grade municipality in the Ramanathapuram district in the South Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is located on Pamban Island separated from mainland India by the Pamban channel and is about 50 kilometres from Mannar Island, Sri Lanka. It is situated in the Gulf of Mannar, at the very tip of the Indian peninsula. Pamban Island, also known as Rameswaram Island, is connected to mainland India by the Pamban Bridge. Together with Varanasi, it is considered to be one of the holiest places in India to Hindus, and part of the Char Dham pilgrimage. According to legend, this is the place from where the Hindu god Rama built a bridge, across the sea to Lanka to rescue his consort Sita from her abductor Ravana. The Ramanathaswamy Temple dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva is located at the centre of the town and is closely associated with Rama. The temple along with the town is considered a holy pilgrimage site for both Shaivites and Vaishnavites. With music Veena by Rajesh Vaidhya. Thank you for publisher. Kanakanjali - Episode 307 - 18th August 2012
As per Hindu custom, the newly wedded daughter throws behind a handful of rice as she leaves her maternal home to live with her husband. This ritual, called Kanakanjali, as if confirms that the daughter has paid all her debts towards her parents. Does this ritual signify a denial of responsibility the daughter has towards her parents? Or does that mean that the parents expect nothing out of their daughter anymore? The show Kanakanjali is the story of Shuvro Chowdhury and his two daughters Sreya and Jhimli. Shuvro is the proud father of four children. His elder son Probal is a textile engineer and the younger son Promit is a management graduate. Shuvro, a saree dealer by profession, has always nurtured a dream that one day Probal and Promit would carry forward his business. Shuvro seems to have the picture perfect family envied by all. Life is fantastic till the time Shuvro realizes that Probal and Promit have no interest in appreciating the much nurtured dream of their father. A time comes when the two sons almost desert their father. An emotionally and financially bankrupt father has none for support. To his surprise, Shuvro has Sreya by his side who fights to get back the lost honour of her father. Kanakanjali is the story of the relationships of a father with his daughters. It is the story of a happy family which crumbles down under the pressure of selfish interests. It is the story of a father in despair, whose honour is resurrected by his daughters. Kanakanjali ...

Shakti Hume Dena Daata
Shiv is a major Hindu deity, and is the destroyer of evil or transformer among the Trimurti, the Hindu Trinity of the primary aspects of the divine. Shiva is a yogi who has notice of everything that happens in the world and is the main aspect of life. Yet one with great power, he lives a life of a sage at Mount Kailash. In the Shaiva tradition of Hinduism, Shiva is seen as the Supreme God and has five important works: creator, preserver, destroyer, concealer, and revealer (to bless). In the Smarta tradition, he is regarded as one of the five primary forms of God. Followers of Hinduism who focus their worship upon Shiva are called Shaivites or Shaivas (Sanskrit Śaiva). Shaivism, along with Vaiṣṇava traditions that focus on Vishnu and Śākta traditions that focus on the goddess Shakti, is one of the most influential denominations in Hinduism.
