Chico Alvarez - La Clave, Maraca y Guiro
Album: Putumayo (2007) "Putumayo World Music continues its exploration into the sounds of the Latin diaspora by releasing its first jazz-focused collection. One of the most familiar jazz genres, Latin jazz has achieved global popularity since big bands in the 1940s and 50s started incorporating Afro-Cuban sounds into their arrangements. This mixture of Afro-Cuban rhythms and jazz stylings comes together on Latin Jazz, a lively collection of songs by masters of the genre. Latin Jazz features legends Tito Puente, Ray Barretto, Eddie Palmieri and others." www.putumayo.com Very, very nice song and amazing cover! Song ends about 7.27, not 9.59. Sorry for that, it's just a movie maker error, you know... just enjoy the music.

Linda chicana - Cal Tjader ( latin jazz )
Linda chicana - Cal Tjader vibraphonist: Cal Tjader flutist: Roger Glenn drummer: Vince Lateano percussion: Poncho Sanchez Callen Radcliffe Tjader, Jr. aka Cal Tjader (July 16, 1925May 5, 1982) was a Latin jazz musician, though he also explored various other jazz idioms. Unlike other American jazz musicians who experimented with the music from Cuba, the Caribbean, and Latin America, he never abandoned it, performing it until his death. Tjader primarily played the vibraphone. He was also accomplished on the drums, bongos, congas, timpani, and the piano. He worked with numerous musicians from several cultures. He is often linked to the development of Latin rock and acid jazz. Although fusing jazz with Latin music is often categorized as "Latin jazz" (or, earlier, "Afro-Cuban jazz"), Tjader's output swung freely between both styles. He won a Grammy in 1980 for his album La Onda Va Bien, capping off a career that spanned over forty years.

Paquito & Wdr Big Ba D'rivera - Improvise One
Recorded in 2003, D'Rivera joins forces with the WDR Big Band, WDR Rundfunkorchester Kln and Dutch diva Fay Claassen under the baton of Michael Abene. - Improvise-ONE was recorded in 2003 and showcases Paquito D'Rivera as virtuosic performer and multi-talented composer, as he joins forces with the WDR Big Band, WDR Rundfunkorchester Kln and Dutch diva Fay Claassen under the baton of Michael Abene. The DVD's opening original, simply titled "Chick," reflects D'Rivera's admiration for colleague and fellow Boosey & Hawkes composer, Chick Corea, whom he views as "one of the best North American composers of all time." "Como Un Bolero" (which could be translated as either "Like a Bolero" or "I eat a Bolero") is also featured. This sensual composition stands out on D'Rivera's Funk Tango, the first release of his new label, which garnered him this year his 9th GRAMMY Award""Best Latin Jazz Album."
