Once, one of my teachers told me:
"Idris, in order to know how the future governance and the future of a country would look like, do not listen to politicians, go and visit a school classroom, because it is this classroom that would govern in the future. Therefore let us make that classroom yours and our immediate concern. "
By the end of the 1990s, while the world was heading towards a new millennium, my generation—the generation of the end of the 20th century was born. At the outset, this new generation brought with them the tidings of a new world. The eastern block and countries similar to them all collapsed.
A new wave of reform, trust, friendship, respecting different views and tolerance was initiated. And that's why a hope for a freer, more just world where all could live and share its benefits on this globe was created to instill in my generation and your generation a love and respect for a new universe and a new world.
Regrettably, after 14-15 years of our birth, my generation and I —those who were born under the glimpse of hope that I just mentioned—hear the same stories, the same accounts of which you have witnessed.
The very circumstances that panicked you deprived you of many nights sleep; we are seeing them again, hearing them again, and reading about them over and over again!
The unpleasant world that you wished we would never witness is about to return.
Isn't it a problem when we see children on the streets becoming the bread-winners, instead of going to school?
Isn't it a problem when the inhabitants of a village have been infected with various diseases due to the lack of drinking water?
Should it not be a question why in a village or a city that the walls of a classroom full of pupils collapses?
Isn't the lack of juvenile centers and libraries in the city quarters the concerns of a generation?
Weren't you dreaming of a beautiful world, a world full of social justice and dignity?
Should we not have the same dreams and concerns?
Should we not contemplate over a sound educational system to be dedicated to educate its citizens, instead of focusing on secondary issues?
Isn't this country the homeland of all Kurdistani people, with its multi-religious, multi-cultural mosaics as well as different opinions?

With the assistance of a number of colleagues, Idris created Rwanga, a non profit charity.
They found that many schools in their region suffer because teachers cannot find childcare for their own children during school hours. Rwanga has therefore embarked on a program to create nursery rooms for the children of teachers in 10 schools as a pilot project. Rwanga hopes this will improve elementary level education.

Iraq's Kurdistan Prime Minister Nechervan Idris Barzani expressed hope that his relationship with Russia will improve after talks during the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) on Friday.
Barzani noted "now we have a good relation and we hope that it will be better." According to the Kurdish PM, SPIEF "is an opportunity … to expand the relationship in all the fields, in energy sector, in politics and economy."

Nechervan Barzani
Nechervan Idris Barzani (Kurdish: نێچیرڤان بهرزانی or Nêçîrvan Îdrîs Barzanî; born 21 September 1966) is a Kurdish politician who has been Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government of Iraqi Kurdistan since March 2012. He also previously served as Prime Minister from March 2006 to August 2009.
Early years
Barzani was born in 1966 in the Barzan region of Iraqi Kurdistan. The word Nêçîr means hunt in the Kurdish language, and Nêçîrvan means the hunter. Also, the word Naxçir means hunt in Persian and Naxçirban means hunter. This is a name used for ethnic Kurdish males. Barzani as a surname reflects the individual's origin from Barzan. In 1975, his family was forced into exile in Iran. He often accompanied his father, Idris, on official visits to Middle Eastern and European countries, a foreshadowing of his future political career. Following the sudden death of his father, he took up an active role in Kurdish politics, working in PDK youth organizations. He is the grandson of PDK (Kurdistan Democratic Party) founder Mustafa Barzani as well as nephew of the current president of the Iraqi Kurdistan Region, Massoud Barzani.

Idris Barzani
Idris Barzani (1944 – January 31, 1987) was a Kurdish politician in Iraq. He was the brother of Massoud Barzani, a well-known Kurdish figure, and the father of Nechervan Idris Barzani. He was often on diplomatic trips for the KDP. He died on January 31, 1987, of a heart attack.

Iraqi Kurdistan
Iraqi Kurdistan, officially known as the Kurdistan Region (Central Kurdish: ههرێمی کوردستان, translit. Herêmî Kurdistan; Arabic: إقليم كردستان, translit. Iqlīm Kurdistān), is located in the north of Iraq and constitutes the country's only autonomous region. Bordering the Kurdish-inhabited regions of Iran to the east, Turkey to the north, and Syria to the west, it is frequently referred to as Southern Kurdistan (Central Kurdish: باشووری کوردستان; Northern Kurdish: Başûrê Kurdistanê). The region is officially governed by the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), with the capital being Erbil.
Kurdistan is a parliamentary democracy with a regional assembly that consists of 111 seats.Masoud Barzani, who was initially elected as president in 2005, was re-elected in 2009. In August 2013 the parliament extended his presidency for another two years. His presidency concluded on 19 August 2015 after the political parties failed to reach an agreement over extending his presidency term. The new Iraqi constitution defines the Kurdistan Region as a federal entity of Iraq, and establishes Kurdish and Arabic as Iraq's joint official languages. The four governorates of Duhok, Hawler, Silemani, and Halabja comprise around 41,710 square kilometres (16,100 sq mi) and have a population of 8.35 million (2013 estimate). In 2014, during the 2014 Iraq Crisis, Iraqi Kurdistan's forces also took over much of the disputed territories of Northern Iraq.

Prime minister
A prime minister is the most senior minister of cabinet in the executive branch of government, often in a parliamentary or semi-presidential system. In many systems, the prime minister selects and may dismiss other members of the cabinet, and allocates posts to members within the government. In most systems, the prime minister is the presiding member and chairman of the cabinet. In a minority of systems, notably in semi-presidential systems of government, a prime minister is the official who is appointed to manage the civil service and execute the directives of the head of state.
In parliamentary systems fashioned after the Westminster system, the prime minister is the presiding and actual head of government and head of the executive branch. In such systems, the head of state or the head of state's official representative (i.e. the monarch, president, or governor-general) usually holds a largely ceremonial position, although often with reserve powers.
The prime minister is often, but not always, a member of parliament and is expected with other ministers to ensure the passage of bills through the legislature. In some monarchies the monarch may also exercise executive powers (known as the royal prerogative) that are constitutionally vested in the crown and may be exercised without the approval of parliament.

I would like to warmly welcome you, and thank you for your attendance Once, one of my teachers told me: "Idris, in order to know how the future governance and the future of a country would look like, do not listen to politicians, go and visit a school classroom, because it is this classroom that would govern in the future. Therefore let us make that classroom yours and our immediate concern. " By the end of the 1990s, while the world was heading towards a new millennium, my generation—the generation of the end of the 20th century was born. At the outset, this new generation brought with them the tidings of a new world. The eastern block and countries similar to them all collapsed. A new wave of reform, trust, friendship, respecting different views and tolerance was initiated. And that's why a hope for a freer, more just world where all could live and share its benefits on this globe was created to instill in my generation and your generation a love and respect for a new universe and a new world. Regrettably, after 14-15 years of our birth, my generation and I —those who were born under the glimpse of hope that I just mentioned—hear the same stories, the same accounts of which you have witnessed. The very circumstances that panicked you deprived you of many nights sleep; we are seeing them again, hearing them again, and reading about them over and over again! The unpleasant world that you wished we would never witness is about to return. Isn't it a problem when we see children on the streets becoming the bread-winners, instead of going to school? Isn't it a problem when the inhabitants of a village have been infected with various diseases due to the lack of drinking water? Should it not be a question why in a village or a city that the walls of a classroom full of pupils collapses? Isn't the lack of juvenile centers and libraries in the city quarters the concerns of a generation? Weren't you dreaming of a beautiful world, a world full of social justice and dignity? Should we not have the same dreams and concerns? Should we not contemplate over a sound educational system to be dedicated to educate its citizens, instead of focusing on secondary issues? Isn't this country the homeland of all Kurdistani people, with its multi-religious, multi-cultural mosaics as well as different opinions? -

With the assistance of a number of colleagues, Idris created Rwanga, a non profit charity. They found that many schools in their region suffer because teachers cannot find childcare for their own children during school hours. Rwanga has therefore embarked on a program to create nursery rooms for the children of teachers in 10 schools as a pilot project. Rwanga hopes this will improve elementary level education. -

Once, one of my teachers told me:
"Idris, in order to know how the future governance and the future of a country would look like, do not listen to politicians, go and visit a school classroom, because it is this classroom that would govern in the future. Therefore let us make that classroom yours and our immediate concern. "
By the end of the 1990s, while the world was heading towards a new millennium, my generation—the generation of the end of the 20th century was born. At the outset, this new generation brought with them the tidings of a new world. The eastern block and countries similar to them all collapsed.
A new wave of reform, trust, friendship, respecting different views and tolerance was initiated. And that's why a hope for a freer, more just world where all could live and share its benefits on this globe was created to instill in my generation and your generation a love and respect for a new universe and a new world.
Regrettably, after 14-15 years of our birth, my generation and I —those who were born under the glimpse of hope that I just mentioned—hear the same stories, the same accounts of which you have witnessed.
The very circumstances that panicked you deprived you of many nights sleep; we are seeing them again, hearing them again, and reading about them over and over again!
The unpleasant world that you wished we would never witness is about to return.
Isn't it a problem when we see children on the streets becoming the bread-winners, instead of going to school?
Isn't it a problem when the inhabitants of a village have been infected with various diseases due to the lack of drinking water?
Should it not be a question why in a village or a city that the walls of a classroom full of pupils collapses?
Isn't the lack of juvenile centers and libraries in the city quarters the concerns of a generation?
Weren't you dreaming of a beautiful world, a world full of social justice and dignity?
Should we not have the same dreams and concerns?
Should we not contemplate over a sound educational system to be dedicated to educate its citizens, instead of focusing on secondary issues?
Isn't this country the homeland of all Kurdistani people, with its multi-religious, multi-cultural mosaics as well as different opinions?

They found that many schools in their region suffer because teachers cannot find childcare for their own children during school hours. Rwanga has therefore embarked on a program to create nursery rooms for the children of teachers in 10 schools as a pilot project. Rwanga hopes this will improve elementary level education.

The new prime minister of the Kurdistan regional administration sin Iraq aid in Irbil on Thursday that a federal system was the only thing that would unite Iraq and bring it out of its current crisis.
"We think that the only solution for new Iraq is federalism. And the only solution that can unite Iraq together is federalism," Nechirvan Idris Barzani said in an interview with Associated Press Television.
He said his goal was to establish a "proper mechanism" to deal with the central government in Baghdad.
"We will have new government next week and after that the first job here we want to do is establish this kind of mechanism, to have contact with Baghdad," he said.
Despite Barzani's calls for federalism, many Iraqis fear such a system would lead to the break-up of the Iraqi state.
Barzani was elected last weekend when the two parts of Iraqi Kurdistan united under a single administration.

Leader of Iraq's Kurdish region Massoud Barzani has told AP Television that he would support a Turkish proposal for a peaceful solution to fighting with the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) but that the regions is prepared to defend itself against Ankara if necessary.
"If Turkey comes up with a peaceful solution, and the PKK refuse it, we are ready to do anything against the PKK. But if Turkey is using the PKK as an excuse to fight with us, we are ready to defend ourselves," Barzani said in an interview on Tuesday.
The leader of the Kurdish region in Northern Iraq said that if Turkey puts forward a peaceful initiative which is then refused by the PKK he will call all Kurds to come together.
"We will explicitly tell the PKK this is a peaceful solution, and you will be part of it. If they insist on refusing it, we will tell all of the Kurdish nation that this was a peaceful initiative, and PKK was against that, and then we are ready to do anything against them, " he said.
Barzani's comments come as tension has been building up along the border area between Northern Iraq and Turkey.
During the interview on Tuesday, he said a peaceful solution must be found.
"A few days ago Erdogan told the PKK to lay down their arms and come back to Parliament to try and solve their problems. I think that's a wise idea," he said.
Turkish helicopter gunships have penetrated into Iraqi territory and troops have shelled suspected Kurdish rebel positions across the border in Iraq, a government official said on Wednesday as civilian and military leaders discussed the scope and duration of a possible offensive into northern Iraq.
US-made Cobra and Super Cobra attack helicopters chased Kurdish rebels 5 kilometres (3 miles) into Iraqi territory on Sunday but returned to their bases in Turkey after a rebel ambush killed 12 soldiers near the border, the official said on condition of anonymity because he was not authorised to speak to the media.
He also said Turkish artillery units shelled rebel positions as recently as Tuesday night but he did not say which areas were targeted and refused to give further information.
Iraqi Kurdish officials also confirmed Turkish shelling along the border over the weekend.
