Unused ITV 1989 Generic Ident - Channel TV
Designed by English Markell Pockett with music by Lord David Dundas, the 1989 generic look was ITV's first attempt at dual branding. A new ITV logo was designed, and idents, clocks, trailer templates, break bumpers and a new font (a modified version of Palatino, optimised for the screen) were issued to each region. The introduction of the new brand was trailed on ITV with a series of short celebrity-fronted films instructing the British public (and possibly the ITV regions themselves, the Broadcasting Act 1990 looming on the horizon) to "get ready for ITV". The package was not a roaring success, however, with TSW, TVS, Channel, Ulster and Anglia refusing to use any of the new branding. Granada edited the ident to feature their logo more prominently, as did YTV. By the end of 1994, all regions who participated in this dual branding experiment had dropped the generic look. A notable exception was Grampian, who stuck with their version of the ident until the introduction of the new lower case ITV logo in 1998.

We're Here to ITC You Through the Wind and the Rain
PIF, more or less, from the Independent Television Commission, the post-Broadcasting Act 1990 "regulatory body" for ITV during its increasingly Orwellian phase of gradual absorption into a gestalt entity. This isn't about that. It's about how the adverts aren't allowed to lie outright.

Channel 4 logo
boring Channel 4 is known as the Channel Four Television Corporation, a statutory corporation, though this form is more recent than the station itself, having previously been the Channel Four Television Company Limited, a subsidiary of the IBA, between 1982 and 1993. Towards the end of the 1980s, the government began a radical process of re-organisation of the commercial broadcasting industry, which was written onto the statute books by means of the Broadcasting Act 1990. Significantly, this meant the abolition of the IBA, and hence the Channel Four Television Company. The result led to the creation of a corporation to own and operate the channel, which would have a greater deal of autonomy and would eventually go on to establish its other operations. The new corporation, which became operational in 1993, remained publicly owned and was regulated by the new Independent Television Commission (ITC), created under the same act. The ITC and its duties were later replaced by Ofcom, which like its predecessor is responsible for appointing the Corporation's board, in agreement with the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport. In terms of the station's remit and other duties, the creation of the corporation meant little change, however the new corporation would have to manage its own advertising, rather than this being carried out on its behalf by the local ITV contractors (see Funding).

IBA Engineering Announcements - Last Edition
Originally started to provide information to the television trade during the roll-out of colour transmissions, the weekly IBA Engineering Announcements remained the only programme produced by the Independent Broadcast Authority (IBA) until the 1990 Broadcasting Act split the Authrority into the Independent Television Commission (ITC), the Radio Authority (RA) and National Transcommunications Limited (NTL). This is the very last edition of that programme that takes a nostalgic look back over the programme's history.

Mock- central after 1998
A selection of idents for if the 1990 broadcasting act never allowed the buying out of smaller companies (in this case, Carlton did not buy Central and Granada did not buy Carlton) Central has updated its look 3 times since 1998, and none of them are the 2D 'Carltonised' idents.

ITV Promo (1988)
Originally encoded and uploaded by another user to UK Nova three years ago. This has been uploaded because this is one of two versions with the "We're all one big family..." voiceover, voiced by two different actors. The other one is also present on YT, at "sdaonline". And there were a further two versions without voiceovers. They are at "ricardo266", "80schick" and "scanjet2". Plus, after September 1989, the pre-89 ITV logo was replaced at the end by a post-89 ITV logo - but the version of the promo with the latter still hasn't popped up anywhere (strange really!). And I'm uploading this not just because it's yet another version of the promo that's not been uploaded (to my knowledge), but also to mark that this year marks 20 years after the 1990 Broadcasting Act was passed, which lead to the franchise rounds of the following year, and which saw the beginning of ITV's long and painful decline. Hence, it is suiting IMHO to upload a version of the 1988 ITV promo that reminded viewers of how reliable the traditional ITV system was and warning that any attempt to tamper with it would have a negative effect to both the ITV network and it's viewers, and even more so, as at this point (2010) we have just finished what has been ITV's worst-performing decade. Happy New Year to all of my friends, subscribers and regular viewers.

BBC 1 "Paul Daniels Magic Show" Series 11 Episode 1 (Full Length Broadcast Version) HD Upscale
Previously posted in 4 parts, here's the entire show, as originally broadcast on BBC 1. Premiere episode of the new series originally broadcast on saturday night. According to en.wikipedia.org this is probably Series 11, originally broadcast 6th January 1990. I was lucky enough to get tickets to the recording of this in october 1989 at BBC Television Centre in London. This Broadcast version is not the sequence it was taped in. The car was in place as we were let into the studio, so the secrets weren't revealed!! I can also confirmed that there is canned laughter in certain points of this. NB Contains live studio performances of portions of music compositions owned and/or administered by third parties including Miami Vice theme written by Jan Hammer, the theme from Knight Rider, "Daddy's Got A New Girl Now", musical compositions administered by: One or more music publishing rights collecting societies This posted video is a HD (1080 x 1920) Upscale of a DVD MPEG 2 rip of an Off-Air VHS recording of the original Broadcast in 1990, digitally re-mastered & prepared 19th February 2011.

CNN Fake Newscast Best Quality
Charles Jaco was the CNN reporter famous for covering the 1990 Persian Gulf War. The first part of this video shows the stage set he was on, and he was clowning around with fellow CNN staff. The Saudi Arabian "hotel" in the background were fake palm trees and a blue wall in a studio. This clip was leaked by CNN staff. The second part of this video was a live CNN satellite feed recorded onto VHS showing the final cut. Charles Jaco was wearing a different jacket, but he had the same act. The acting was terrible as Charles Jaco wore a gas mask, and his fellow correspondent Carl Rochelle wore a helmet. The sirens and missile sound effects are part of the stage set. The camera never pans out or shows the sky. These clips are the highest quality of this newscast and behind the scenes. Yes, Charles Jaco was a reporter for CNN. Google his name and read the results. This is the reason why I don't trust mainstream news. It is all theater and it's completely staged. I only use the news as a guide to get an idea of what is going on, and then I do further research myself. You can start your own research by visiting my website www.patriotportal.yolasite.com I also suggest reading the books of Edward Bernays to learn how the media and government fool the masses on an unprecedented scale. This video is FAIR USE depicting an historical event. I encourage this video to be downloaded, and re-uploaded to other websites to get more people to see this. Charles Jaco currently works as a ...

South Africa State of Emergency 1980's
This is footage of the increasing civil unrest and township violence that led to the government declaring a State of Emergency on 20 July 1985. Then-President of South Africa PW Botha declared the State of Emergency in 36 magisterial districts. Areas affected were the Eastern Cape, and the PWV region ("Pretoria, Witwatersrand, Vereeniging"). Three months later the Western Cape was included as well. During this state of emergency about 2436 people were detained under the Internal Security Act. This act gave police and the military sweeping powers. The government could implement curfews controlling the movement of people. The president could rule by decree without referring to the constitution or to parliament. Four days before the ten-year commemoration of the Soweto uprising, another state of emergency was declared on 12 June 1986 to cover the whole country. The government amended the Public Security Act, expanding its powers to include the right to declare certain places "unrest areas". This allowed the state to employ extraordinary measures to crush protests in these areas. Television cameras were banned from entering "unrest areas". The state broadcaster, the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) provided propaganda in support of the government. This version of reality was challenged by a range of pro-ANC alternative publications. In 1989, with the State of Emergency extended to a fourth year, Prime Minister Botha met Mandela and agreed to work for a peaceful ...

CONTROLLED MEDIA Miami Journalist Bribed By BBG Outlets For Propaganda Against The Cuban Five
How To Go To Heaven: www.jesus-is-savior.com www.freethefive.org US government contracts reveal Miami journalists on the payroll Announcing new website: www.ReportersforHire.org A multi-year effort by the National Committee to Free the Cuban Five, the Partnership for Civil Justice Fund and Liberation newspaper has uncovered thousands of pages of previously unreleased materials that reveal that the US government was paying Miami-based journalists who saturated the Miami media with reports that were highly inflammatory and prejudicial to the Cuban Five at the same time as the government conducted its prosecution of the men. The Smith-Mundt Act of 1948 prohibits the US government from funding activities to influence and propagandize domestic public opinion (see 22 USC § 1461). More than 2200 pages of contracts between Miami journalists and Radio and TV Martí have been released thus far to Liberation newspaper through a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) petition. The Broadcasting Board of Governors—an official US government agency—and its Office of Cuba Broadcasting have operated Radio Martí since 1985 and TV Martí since 1990. The US government has funneled nearly half a billion dollars into the Office of Cuba Broadcasting in Miami. With an annual budget nearing $35 million, the OCB and BBG put on their payroll domestic journalists to broadcast the same message inside and outside the United States on Cuba-related issues, effectively violating the law against domestic ...
