Jordan- The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan
Jordan officially the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan (Arabic: المملكة الأردنية الهاشمية), Al-Mamlaka al-Urduniyya al-Hashemiyya) and also known as the JK (short for The Jordanian Kingdom), is a kingdom on the East Bank of the River Jordan in Western Asia. It borders Saudi Arabia to the east and south-east, Iraq to the east, Syria to the north and West Bank and Israel to the west, sharing control of the Dead Sea. Jordan's only port is at its southern tip, at the Gulf of Aqaba, which is shared with Israel, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia. Much of Jordan is covered by the Arabian Desert. However, the north-western part of Jordan is part of the Fertile Crescent. The capital city is Amman.
During its history, Jordan has seen numerous civilizations, including those of the Ancient Near East with the Canaanite and later other Semitic peoples such as the Edomites, and the Moabites. Other civilizations possessing political sovereignty and influence in Jordan were: Akkadian, Assyrian, Israelite/Judean, Babylonian, and Persian empires. The lands of Jordan were for a time under the rule of Pharaonic Egypt, composed part of the greater Kingdom of Israel (including the later Judaean Kingdom, Hasmonaen Kingdom of Israel and Herodian Dynasty), and notably, the region of Jordan also gave birth to the Nabataean civilization which left rich archaeological remains at Petra, one of the New Seven Wonders of the World located in the Ma'an Governorate. Cultures further west also left their mark, such as the Macedonian/Greek/Hellenistic, Roman, Byzantine, and Ottoman empires. Since the seventh century, the area has been under the primary rule of Muslim and Arab cultures, with the exceptions briefly for the area in Western Jordan during the Crusader Kingdom of Jerusalem, and for the entire region during the early-mid twentieth century under British rule which led to Jordan's establishment as an autonomous state.
The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan is a constitutional monarchy with representative government. The reigning monarch is the chief executive and the commander-in-chief of the armed forces. The king exercises his executive authority through the prime ministers and the Council of Ministers, or cabinet. The cabinet, meanwhile, is responsible before the democratically elected House of Deputies which, along with the House of Notables (Senate), constitutes the legislative branch of the government. The judicial branch is an independent branch of the government.
Modern Jordan is predominantly urbanized. Jordan is classified as a country of "high human development" by the 2010 Human Development Report.[8] Furthermore, The Kingdom has been classified as an emerging market with a free market economy by the CIA World Fact Book. It has more Free Trade Agreements than any other country in the region. It has a "pro-Western" regime with very close relations with the United Kingdom and the United States. It also became a major non-NATO ally of the United States in 1996, and is one of only two nations in the region, the other being Egypt, that have diplomatic relations with Israel.[9][10][11][12][13][14][15][16] It is a founding member of the Arab League,[17] the WTO,[18][19][20][21][22][23][24][25] the AFESD,[26] the Arab Parliament,[27] the AIDMO, the AMF,[28] the IMF,[29][30] the International Criminal Court,[31] the UNHRC,[32] the GAFTA, the ESCWA,[33] the ENP[34][35][36] and the United Nations.[37] Jordan is also currently undergoing close integration with the European Union and the Gulf Cooperation Council. Jordan enjoys "advanced status" with the European Union. SOURCE : WIKIPEDIA

Herodian Road From Shiloah Pool to the Western Wall
In 2004, Ronny Reich and Eli Shukron began an excavation in the southern part of the City of David, at the site of the Second Temple period Shiloah Pool. The first stage of the excavation uncovered a series of steps that led outside the designated excavation site, as well as a platform that approaches the area from the North. In the next stage, they excavated two sections of the main road from the same time period that led northwards towards the Temple Mount. Additionally, parts of the water channel that passed beneath the road were discovered, with finds inside the channel testifying to the days of the revolt against the Romans and the subsequent destruction of Jerusalem.
A year later they began to excavate sections of the main road of the city from the Second Temple period that leads in the direction of the Temple Mount. (Sections of this road were excavated in the past by Bliss & Dickie, Kenyon and others). In addition, a water channel from the same time period was found beneath the road pavement. Inside the channel, two complete cooking pots were found along with many coins, which attest to the presence of residents living inside these channels as they sought refuge from the Romans who were destroying the city and the Second Temple during the Great Revolt.

Wilkin would have the unsaved go to the Gospel of John for their salvation. John's Gospel is not dealing with Christ as saviour, but as the Jewish Messiah. This he admits!
That Gospel is the Kingdom Gospel by which the disciples were saved, believing in Christ as their Messiah. That is the purpose for signs to the Jews (1Cor.1:22).
Today, the Gospel is for both Jew and Gentile and it is that Christ is their saviour who died for them on the Cross and rose from the dead.
If one wants to go to one book for the true Gospel one can find it in Romans, which tells us we are sinners (Ro.3:23),
that Christ's shed blood is the propitiation for our sins (Ro.3:25),
that salvation is by faith alone (Ro.3:28)
and that Christ's resurrection means our resurrection (Ro.6:4) and justification (Ro.4:25)
The gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ, our Lord (Ro.6:23)
One New Testament Book-Romans- gives the correct Gospel in these simple verses.
The Gospel is more then simply claiming the name of Jesus for eternal life
The Kingdom of God vs the Kingdom Heaven
1 kingdom of God
The kingdom of God is to be distinguished from the kingdom of heaven Cmt. on Mt 3:2, in five respects:
(1) The kingdom of God is universal, including all moral intelligences willingly subject to the will of God, whether angels, the Church, or saints of past or future dispensations Lu 13:28-29; Heb 12:22-23 while the kingdom of heaven is Messianic, mediatorial, and Davidic, and has for its object the establishment of the kingdom of God in the earth Cmt. on Mt 3:2 1Co 15:24-25.
(2) The kingdom of God is entered only by the new birth Joh 3:3,5-7 the kingdom of heaven, during this age, is the sphere of a profession which may be real or false. Cmt. on Mt 13:3 Mt 25:1,11-12
(3) Since the kingdom of heaven is the earthly sphere of the universal kingdom of God, the two have almost all things in common. For this reason many parables and other teachings are spoken of the kingdom of heaven in Matthew, and of the kingdom of God in Mark and Luke. It is the omissions which are significant. The parables of the wheat and tares, and of the net Mt 13:24-30,36-43,47-50 are not spoken of the kingdom of God. In that kingdom there are neither tares nor bad fish. But the parable of the leaven Mt 13:33 is spoken of the kingdom of God also, for, alas, even the true doctrines of the kingdom are leavened with the errors of which the Pharisees, Sadducees, and the Herodians were the representatives. Cmt. on Mt 13:33.
(4) The kingdom of God "comes not with outward show" Lu 17:20 but is chiefly that which is inward and spiritual Ro 14:17 while the kingdom of heaven is organic, and is to be manifested in glory on the earth. (See "Kingdom (O.T.)," Zec 12:8, note; (N.T.), Lu 1:31-33; 1Co 15:24, note; Mt 17:2, note.) Cmt. on Zec 12:8, Lu 1:31-33 Cmt. on 1Co 15:24 Cmt. on Mt 17:2
(5) The kingdom of heaven merges into the kingdom of God when Christ, having put all enemies under his feet, "shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father" 1Co 15:24-28 Cmt. on Mt 3:2

Tuesday- The Longest Day
On Tuesday Jesus' notion of "the Kingdom of God" continues to challenge the temple authorities and their associates, like the Pharisees, the Scribes, the Herodians, and the Sadducees concerning justice as he compares the non-violent justice of the Kingdom of God over against the violent injustice of the empire and its unjust collaboration with the temple authorities.
This day consists of one controversy after another in the temple setting, and continues to set him up for the final confrontation that will fall on Friday.
It is my hope that you will return to church on this coming Sunday as we continue our journey with Jesus on the Last Week on his life in hopes that if we can learn what happened then, maybe we can keep from repeating it even now.
I'm Chris Cooper, Senior Pastor of FUMC of downtown Little Rock, and I welcome you to experience the Last Week of the life of Jesus.

Cleansing the Temple of God Today
God is bringing forth his kingdom on the earth today with power. He is grieved when his people are used as merchandise to build a kingdom of this world. His temple is being cleansed from corruption and evil to establish a powerful kingdom. No longer will anger, unforgiveness, greed and pride dwell in his temple whether it is in the body of Christ as a whole or an individual. Through the Holy Spirit there will be a purging of the old ways of thinking so the new can emerge.

At The Intersection Of Church And State: Jesus' Tax Policy Sermon
When the Pharisees and Herodians come to Jesus with their question about taxes, they are trying to get him either to disrespect the powers that by answering that paying taxes are not necessary or to somehow compromise his devotion to God by living under the government. Jesus respects the government while still holding his ultimate allegiance to God's kingdom. In a world where political discourse is often uncivil and where people put politics ahead of God, we should follow Jesus' lead.

Jehosaphat and Psalm 118
Episode 14: In 2 Chronicles chapter 20, we are told of the inspiring story of King Jehosaphat and the people of the Judean kingdom. When faced with the certain onslaught of an invading force the King called for fasting and prayer. This whole-hearted cry to God awakened the Almighty to action. A miracle ensued as the people marched into battle with a psalm on their lips (most likely Psalm 118). As the tour comes to the Herodian Fortress overlooking the wilderness of Tekoa, they stop to reflect on both the historic and the messianic meanings of Psalm 118.
"And they rose early in the morning and went out into the wilderness of Tekoa ... [Jehosaphat] appointed those who were to sing to the LORD and praise him in holy attire, as they went before the army, and say, "Give thanks to the LORD, for his steadfast love endures forever. And when they began to sing and praise, the LORD set an ambush against the men of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir, who had come against Judah, so that they were routed." - 2nd Chronicles 20:20-22
In this video blog, Daniel and Steven Lancaster join together to give you a glimpse into the holy land of Israel. Archaeology, geography, geology, along with the language and cultural history of the Land and the People of Israel make the words of the Torah, the Psalms, and the Prophets - the Scriptures of Israel - come alive. In this video blog you'll get a raw peek into the experience of being on a First Fruits of Zion Israel tour and learn many valuable truths and biblical lessons in the mean time.

The Identity of Jesus
Some say Jesus was a magician because, like the magicians of the day, He cured people in secret, sometimes used elements (like putting mud in the blind man's eyes), and othertimes failed to perform exorcism (like continuing to call on demons to come out of a man) or spoke magical words (like the exchange with the demons who tried to overcome Him by speaking out His Identity).
Others say Jesus was a Rabbi because, like the Rabbis of the time, He taught in parables (like the Prodigal Son) and used rabbinic language in His Doctrines (like the Golden Rule), and He had a group of men whom He taught (disciples and apostles), and He would often teach in the synagogue (like He testified at His Trial), and He had a perfect knowledge of the Scriptures from an early age (He taught in the Temple at age twelve, and in His Ministry He used the Pharisee's Scriptures to refute the Pharisees' arguments, etc.)
Still others say Jesus was a Pharisee because, like the other Pharisees of the time, He believed in the resurrection of the body (like His teaching on rising on the third day), quoted Hillel on the Golden Rule ("Do unto others as you would have them do unto you"), prayed the Shema (like when He taught what the two great commandments are), taught that the Pharisees sat in the seat of Moses, quoted from the Mishna (the Pharisee Scriptures), and taught about a royal priesthood (like His teaching on the need to deny oneself, take up one's cross, and follow Him).
Yet others say Jesus was a Sadducee, because, like the other Sadducees of the time, He taught that only God was Good, revoked many of the purity laws (like His teaching about what is inside is impure rather than what is outside), and disputed with the Pharisees (like when He called them all hypocrites).
There are those who say Jesus was a Herodian or a Roman because, like the other Herodians and Romans of the time, He payed the tax (like the miracle of the coin in the fish's mouth) and taught to give what is Caesar's to Caesar, and He had tax collectors among His disciple and Apostles (like Matthew and Zechariah), and He told Pilate that His Kingdom was not of this world and told the Eleven that the time for the restoration of the Kingdom of Israel was none of their business, and, contrary to Jewish hopes, He did not liberate Israel from Rome's power.
And others say Jesus was an Essene because, like the other Essences of the time, He taught against swearing oaths ("Do not swear...") and was called a Nazarean by the Apostles ("Jesus the Nazarean"), and He kept celibate, even teaching that some men are celibate for the sake of the Kingdom of God.
Than there are those who say Jesus was a Zealot because, like the other Zealots of the time, He was against the Jewish leaders' hypocrisy ("Woe to you hypocrites!") and violently cleansed the Temple of the moneymakers, and He used derogatory terms for the Gentiles ("Do not give what is holy to the dogs"), and He had a Zealot amongst His Apostles (Simon), and a former zealous Jew to whom He appeared in an unique and exceptional apparition (Saul).
A few say Jesus was a revolutionary or thief, because, like prisoner called Jesus Barabbas or Barabbas, He was considered a messiah by His followers (like when they wanted to make Him king), and He was sentenced to death for being King of the Jews, and He was crucified between two thieves on Calvary, and He astonished Jews with His teachings (such as His abridgment of the Old Law: "You have heard it said...but I say to you...").
Lesser few say Jesus was a myth or a syncretism of pagan myths, because like the myths of Horus, He is called the Son of God and Savior of the world, He rose from the dead, He had disciples and apostles, He was a wise teacher and leader, His mother was a virgin, and He was crucified yet ascended back into Heaven.

3000yo First Temple Water Reservoir Found in Jerusalem Old City at Davidson Archeological Park
A new treasure has been discovered at the Davidson Archeological Park in Jerusalem's Old City... At the foot of Robinson's Arch, on the southwestern wall that surrounded the ancient Second Temple , steel bars guard the entrance to an even older find... Archeologist Eli Shukrun -- the site director from the Israeli Antiquities Authority -- took us deep underground to see what his team stumbled upon while digging for other things. 15 meters down, we walked through what archeologists believe is an ancient Herodian tunnel...
Shukrun stops at hole and begins to climb down a ladder...it leads to this enormous ancient water reservoir...it can hold more than 66,000 gallons of water...or 250 cubic meters... The reservoir's plaster and the design indicate it's 3,000 years old... Archeologists believe this reservoir was a public one, used during what the bible describes as King Solomon's Temple. It was built in 986 BCE and destroyed in 586 BCE by the Babylonians. Finding artifacts from that time period is extremely rare after more than 2,500 years of new construction. Archeologists used to believe that during the First Temple period, about 1000 before the common era, the inhabitants of Jerusalem would go further south to the Gihon spring for their main source of water. But now the discovery of this water reservoir, so close to where the Old Temple stood, has changed that picture...
Pilgrims, local residents, Temple workers -- any and all of them could have used what this public reservoir. It's more proof, Shukrun says, that the area around the presumed location of the First Temple was buzzing with activity and thus demanded a large public water source... Visitors were clearly moved by what the ancient ruin... The new find is a victory for archeologists who believe the Bible's account of ancient times contains some historical truth. It's another set back for those who deny the existence of Jerusalem's First Temple and call the Israelite Kingdoms a myth. The design of this reservoir may have been established in Jerusalem and the used in other areas -- similar ones have been found in Bet Shemesh, Beer Sheva and Arad. Shukrun is convinced there are more first temple public reservoirs in the area -- he hopes he'll be lucky enough a second time to find another one...

Herod the Great
Herod (Hebrew: הוֹרְדוֹס, Hordos, Greek: Ἡρῴδης, Hērōdēs), also known as Herod the Great (born 73 or 74 BCE, died 4 BCE in Jericho[1]), was a Roman client king of Judea.[2][3][4] His epithet of "the Great" is widely disputed as he is described as "a madman who murdered his own family and a great many rabbis."[5][6][7] He is also known for his colossal building projects in Jerusalem and elsewhere, including his expansion of the Second Temple in Jerusalem (sometimes referred to as Herod's Temple) and the construction of the port at Caesarea Maritima. Important details of his biography are gleaned from the works of the 1st century CE Roman-Jewish historian Josephus Flavius.
The Romans made Herod's son Herod Archelaus ethnarch of Judea, Samaria, and Idumea (biblical Edom) from 4 BCE to 6 CE, referred to as the tetrarchy of Judea. Archelaus was judged incompetent by the Roman emperor Augustus who then combined Samaria, Judea proper and Idumea into Iudaea province[8] under rule of a prefect until 41. Herod's other son Herod Antipas was tetrarch of Galilee from 4 BCE -- 39 CE.
Herod was born around 74 BCE in the south (Idumea was the most southern region).[9][10] He was the second son of Antipater the Idumaean, a high-ranked official under Ethnarch Hyrcanus II, and Cypros, a Nabatean. Herod was practicing Judaism, as many Edomites and Nabateans had been commingled with the Jews and adopted their customs.[11] These "Judanized" Edomites were not considered Jewish by the dominant Pharisaic tradition, so even though Herod may have considered himself of the Jewish faith, he was not considered Jewish by the observant and nationalist Jews of Judea.[12] A loyal supporter of Hyrcanus II, Antipater appointed Herod governor of Galilee at 25, and his elder brother, Phasael, governor of Jerusalem. He enjoyed the backing of Rome but his brutality was condemned by the Sanhedrin.[13]
Two years later Antigonus, Hyrcanus' nephew, took the throne from his uncle with the help of the Parthians. Herod fled to Rome to plead with the Romans to restore him to power. There he was elected "King of the Jews" by the Roman Senate.[14] Josephus puts this in the year of the consulship of Calvinus and Pollio (40 BCE), but Appian places it in 39 BCE.[10] Herod went back to Judea to win his kingdom from Antigonus and at the same time he married the teenage niece of Antigonus, Mariamne (known as Mariamne I), in an attempt to secure a claim to the throne and gain some Jewish favor. However, Herod already had a wife, Doris, and a three-year-old son, Antipater, and chose therefore to banish Doris and her child.
Three years later, Herod and the Romans finally captured Jerusalem and executed Antigonus. Herod took the role as sole ruler of Judea and the title of basileus (Gr. Βασιλευς, king) for himself, ushering in the Herodian Dynasty and ending the Hasmonean Dynasty. Josephus reports this as being in the year of the consulship of Agrippa and Gallus (37 BCE), but also says that it was exactly 27 years after Jerusalem fell to Pompey, which would indicate 36 BCE. (Cassius Dio also reports that in 37 "the Romans accomplished nothing worthy of note" in the area.[15]) According to Josephus, he ruled for 37 years, 34 years of them after capturing Jerusalem.
Model of Herod's Temple
As Herod's family had converted to Judaism, his religious commitment had come into question by some elements of Jewish society.[16] When John Hyrcanus conquered the region of Idumaea (the Edom of the Hebrew Bible) in 140--130 BCE, he required all Idumaeans to obey Jewish law or to leave; most Idumaeans thus converted to Judaism, which meant that they had to be circumcised.[17] While King Herod publicly identified himself as a Jew and was considered as such by some,[18] this religious identification was undermined by the decadent lifestyle of the Herodians, which would have earned them the antipathy of observant Jews.[19]
Herod later executed several members of his own family, including his wife Mariamne I.

Matthew 22
Matthew 22
King James Version (KJV)
22 And Jesus answered and spake unto them again by parables, and said,
2 The kingdom of heaven is like unto a certain king, which made a marriage for his son,
3 And sent forth his servants to call them that were bidden to the wedding: and they would not come.
4 Again, he sent forth other servants, saying, Tell them which are bidden, Behold, I have prepared my dinner: my oxen and my fatlings are killed, and all things are ready: come unto the marriage.
5 But they made light of it, and went their ways, one to his farm, another to his merchandise:
6 And the remnant took his servants, and entreated them spitefully, and slew them.
7 But when the king heard thereof, he was wroth: and he sent forth his armies, and destroyed those murderers, and burned up their city.
8 Then saith he to his servants, The wedding is ready, but they which were bidden were not worthy.
9 Go ye therefore into the highways, and as many as ye shall find, bid to the marriage.
10 So those servants went out into the highways, and gathered together all as many as they found, both bad and good: and the wedding was furnished with guests.
11 And when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man which had not on a wedding garment:
12 And he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment? And he was speechless.
13 Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness, there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
14 For many are called, but few are chosen.
15 Then went the Pharisees, and took counsel how they might entangle him in his talk.
16 And they sent out unto him their disciples with the Herodians, saying, Master, we know that thou art true, and teachest the way of God in truth, neither carest thou for any man: for thou regardest not the person of men.
17 Tell us therefore, What thinkest thou? Is it lawful to give tribute unto Caesar, or not?
18 But Jesus perceived their wickedness, and said, Why tempt ye me, ye hypocrites?
19 Shew me the tribute money. And they brought unto him a penny.
20 And he saith unto them, Whose is this image and superscription?
21 They say unto him, Caesar's. Then saith he unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's; and unto God the things that are God's.
22 When they had heard these words, they marvelled, and left him, and went their way.
23 The same day came to him the Sadducees, which say that there is no resurrection, and asked him,
24 Saying, Master, Moses said, If a man die, having no children, his brother shall marry his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother.
25 Now there were with us seven brethren: and the first, when he had married a wife, deceased, and, having no issue, left his wife unto his brother:
26 Likewise the second also, and the third, unto the seventh.
27 And last of all the woman died also.
28 Therefore in the resurrection whose wife shall she be of the seven? for they all had her.
29 Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.
30 For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven.
31 But as touching the resurrection of the dead, have ye not read that which was spoken unto you by God, saying,
32 I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.
33 And when the multitude heard this, they were astonished at his doctrine.
34 But when the Pharisees had heard that he had put the Sadducees to silence, they were gathered together.
35 Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying,
36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law?
37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
38 This is the first and great commandment.
39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
41 While the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them,
42 Saying, What think ye of Christ? whose son is he? They say unto him, The son of David.
43 He saith unto them, How then doth David in spirit call him Lord, saying,
44 The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool?
45 If David then call him Lord, how is he his son?
46 And no man was able to answer him a word, neither durst any man from that day forth ask him any more questions.

Mathew 22 Bible Reading in Hindi by Sherly Isaac
Mathew 22 Bible Reading in Hindi by Sherly Isaac,
Mat 22:1 And Jesus answered and spoke to them again by parables and said:
Mat 22:2 "The kingdom of heaven is like a certain king who arranged a marriage for his son,
Mat 22:3 "and sent out his servants to call those who were invited to the wedding; and they were not willing to come.
Mat 22:4 "Again, he sent out other servants, saying, 'Tell those who are invited, "See, I have prepared my dinner; my oxen and fatted cattle are killed, and all things are ready. Come to the wedding."'
Mat 22:5 "But they made light of it and went their ways, one to his own farm, another to his business.
Mat 22:6 "And the rest seized his servants, treated them spitefully, and killed them.
Mat 22:7 "But when the king heard about it, he was furious. And he sent out his armies, destroyed those murderers, and burned up their city.
Mat 22:8 "Then he said to his servants, 'The wedding is ready, but those who were invited were not worthy.
Mat 22:9 'Therefore go into the highways, and as many as you find, invite to the wedding.'
Mat 22:10 "So those servants went out into the highways and gathered together all whom they found, both bad and good. And the wedding hall was filled with guests.
Mat 22:11 "But when the king came in to see the guests, he saw a man there who did not have on a wedding garment.
Mat 22:12 "So he said to him, 'Friend, how did you come in here without a wedding garment?' And he was speechless.
Mat 22:13 "Then the king said to the servants, 'Bind him hand and foot, take him away, and cast him into outer darkness; there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.'
Mat 22:14 "For many are called, but few are chosen."
Mat 22:15 Then the Pharisees went and plotted how they might entangle Him in His talk.
Mat 22:16 And they sent to Him their disciples with the Herodians, saying, "Teacher, we know that You are true, and teach the way of God in truth; nor do You care about anyone, for You do not regard the person of men.
Mat 22:17 "Tell us, therefore, what do You think? Is it lawful to pay taxes to Caesar, or not?"
Mat 22:18 But Jesus perceived their wickedness, and said, "Why do you test Me, you hypocrites?
Mat 22:19 "Show Me the tax money." So they brought Him a denarius.
Mat 22:20 And He said to them, "Whose image and inscription is this?"
Mat 22:21 They said to Him, "Caesar's." And He said to them, "Render therefore to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's."
Mat 22:22 When they had heard these words, they marveled, and left Him and went their way.
Mat 22:23 The same day the Sadducees, who say there is no resurrection, came to Him and asked Him,
Mat 22:24 saying: "Teacher, Moses said that if a man dies, having no children, his brother shall marry his wife and raise up offspring for his brother.
Mat 22:25 "Now there were with us seven brothers. The first died after he had married, and having no offspring, left his wife to his brother.
Mat 22:26 "Likewise the second also, and the third, even to the seventh.
Mat 22:27 "Last of all the woman died also.
Mat 22:28 "Therefore, in the resurrection, whose wife of the seven will she be? For they all had her."
Mat 22:29 Jesus answered and said to them, "You are mistaken, not knowing the Scriptures nor the power of God.
Mat 22:30 "For in the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like angels of God in heaven.
Mat 22:31 "But concerning the resurrection of the dead, have you not read what was spoken to you by God, saying,
Mat 22:32 'I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob'? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living."

Matthew 22
The Parable of the Wedding Banquet
1Jesus spoke to them again in parables, saying: 2"The kingdom of heaven is like a king who prepared a wedding banquet for his son. 3He sent his servants to those who had been invited to the banquet to tell them to come, but they refused to come.
4"Then he sent some more servants and said, 'Tell those who have been invited that I have prepared my dinner: My oxen and fattened cattle have been butchered, and everything is ready. Come to the wedding banquet.'
5"But they paid no attention and went off—one to his field, another to his business. 6The rest seized his servants, mistreated them and killed them. 7The king was enraged. He sent his army and destroyed those murderers and burned their city.
8"Then he said to his servants, 'The wedding banquet is ready, but those I invited did not deserve to come. 9Go to the street corners and invite to the banquet anyone you find.' 10So the servants went out into the streets and gathered all the people they could find, both good and bad, and the wedding hall was filled with guests.
11"But when the king came in to see the guests, he noticed a man there who was not wearing wedding clothes. 12'Friend,' he asked, 'how did you get in here without wedding clothes?' The man was speechless.
13"Then the king told the attendants, 'Tie him hand and foot, and throw him outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.'
14"For many are invited, but few are chosen."
Paying Taxes to Caesar
15Then the Pharisees went out and laid plans to trap him in his words. 16They sent their disciples to him along with the Herodians. "Teacher," they said, "we know you are a man of integrity and that you teach the way of God in accordance with the truth. You aren't swayed by men, because you pay no attention to who they are. 17Tell us then, what is your opinion? Is it right to pay taxes to Caesar or not?"
18But Jesus, knowing their evil intent, said, "You hypocrites, why are you trying to trap me? 19Show me the coin used for paying the tax." They brought him a denarius, 20and he asked them, "Whose portrait is this? And whose inscription?"
21"Caesar's," they replied. Then he said to them, "Give to Caesar what is Caesar's, and to God what is God's."
22When they heard this, they were amazed. So they left him and went away.
Marriage at the Resurrection
23That same day the Sadducees, who say there is no resurrection, came to him with a question. 24"Teacher," they said, "Moses told us that if a man dies without having children, his brother must marry the widow and have children for him. 25Now there were seven brothers among us. The first one married and died, and since he had no children, he left his wife to his brother. 26The same thing happened to the second and third brother, right on down to the seventh. 27Finally, the woman died. 28Now then, at the resurrection, whose wife will she be of the seven, since all of them were married to her?"
29Jesus replied, "You are in error because you do not know the Scriptures or the power of God. 30At the resurrection people will neither marry nor be given in marriage; they will be like the angels in heaven. 31But about the resurrection of the dead—have you not read what God said to you, 32'I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob'[a]? He is not the God of the dead but of the living."
33When the crowds heard this, they were astonished at his teaching.
The Greatest Commandment
34Hearing that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees, the Pharisees got together. 35One of them, an expert in the law, tested him with this question:
36"Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?" 37Jesus replied: " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.'[b] 38This is the first and greatest commandment. 39And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'[c] 40All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments."
Whose Son Is the Christ
41While the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them, 42"What do you think about the Christ[d]? Whose son is he?" "The son of David," they replied.
43He said to them, "How is it then that David, speaking by the Spirit, calls him 'Lord'? For he says,
44" 'The Lord said to my Lord: "Sit at my right hand until I put your enemies under your feet." '[e] 45If then David calls him 'Lord,' how can he be his son?" 46No one could say a word in reply, and from that day on no one dared to ask him any more questions.

At The Intersection Of Church And State: Jesus' Tax Policy ABC
When the Pharisees and Herodians come to Jesus with their question about taxes, they are trying to get him either to disrespect the powers that by answering that paying taxes are not necessary or to somehow compromise his devotion to God by living under the government. Jesus respects the government while still holding his ultimate allegiance to God's kingdom. In a world where political discourse is often uncivil and where people put politics ahead of God, we should follow Jesus' lead.

Matthew 22
1And Jesus answered and spake unto them again by parables, and said,
2The kingdom of heaven is like unto a certain king, which made a marriage for his son,
3And sent forth his servants to call them that were bidden to the wedding: and they would not come.
4Again, he sent forth other servants, saying, Tell them which are bidden, Behold, I have prepared my dinner: my oxen and my fatlings are killed, and all things are ready: come unto the marriage.
5But they made light of it, and went their ways, one to his farm, another to his merchandise:
6And the remnant took his servants, and entreated them spitefully, and slew them.
7But when the king heard thereof, he was wroth: and he sent forth his armies, and destroyed those murderers, and burned up their city.
8Then saith he to his servants, The wedding is ready, but they which were bidden were not worthy.
9Go ye therefore into the highways, and as many as ye shall find, bid to the marriage.
10So those servants went out into the highways, and gathered together all as many as they found, both bad and good: and the wedding was furnished with guests.
11And when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man which had not on a wedding garment:
12And he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment? And he was speechless.
13Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness, there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
14For many are called, but few are chosen.
15Then went the Pharisees, and took counsel how they might entangle him in his talk.
16And they sent out unto him their disciples with the Herodians, saying, Master, we know that thou art true, and teachest the way of God in truth, neither carest thou for any man: for thou regardest not the person of men.
17Tell us therefore, What thinkest thou? Is it lawful to give tribute unto Caesar, or not?
18But Jesus perceived their wickedness, and said, Why tempt ye me, ye hypocrites?
19Shew me the tribute money. And they brought unto him a penny.
20And he saith unto them, Whose is this image and superscription?
21They say unto him, Caesar's. Then saith he unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's; and unto God the things that are God's.
22When they had heard these words, they marvelled, and left him, and went their way.
23The same day came to him the Sadducees, which say that there is no resurrection, and asked him,
24Saying, Master, Moses said, If a man die, having no children, his brother shall marry his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother.
25Now there were with us seven brethren: and the first, when he had married a wife, deceased, and, having no issue, left his wife unto his brother:
26Likewise the second also, and the third, unto the seventh.
27And last of all the woman died also.
28Therefore in the resurrection whose wife shall she be of the seven? for they all had her.
29Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.
30For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven.
31But as touching the resurrection of the dead, have ye not read that which was spoken unto you by God, saying,
32I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.
33And when the multitude heard this, they were astonished at his doctrine.
34But when the Pharisees had heard that he had put the Sadducees to silence, they were gathered together.
35Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying,
36Master, which is the great commandment in the law?
37Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
38This is the first and great commandment.
39And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
40On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
41While the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them,
42Saying, What think ye of Christ? whose son is he? They say unto him, The son of David.
43He saith unto them, How then doth David in spirit call him Lord, saying,
44The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool?
45If David then call him Lord, how is he his son?
46And no man was able to answer him a word, neither durst any man from that day forth ask him any more questions.
