Entry from: Bokeo Province, Lao Peoples Dem Rep Entry Title: "The Gibbon Experience" Entry: "We heard about the Gibbon Experience form a Hammers fan and his girlfriend in Chiang Mai, it isn't in any guide books, but loads of people in South East Asia seem to have heard something about it The project is located in the Bokeo Province of Northern Laos, pretty close to the Burma and Chinese border. We reached the office in the border town of Huay Xai and travelled for over three hours on a partially built four lane road that is slicing through a very remote area, you can never be that tidy building a road but the devastation this is causing is incredible, a scar over a hundred metres wide in places, thousands of trees cut down and the rivers red from the soil We turned off the main road, crossed our first river and drove for 45 minutes before stopping in a tribal village and walking an hour up into the jungle. The destruction of the forest which was pretty common place previously ended and the jungle was almost pristine The Gibbon Experience is a series of tree houses and zip slides through a section of forest on the edge of the Bokeo Nature Reserve.
